Refreshing break in idyllic setting

The cottage was excellent - all facilities needed for our stay and the location was superb - just a couple of minutes stroll to the riverside and four minutes to get to the paper shop for my morning paper!! Everything we needed was there. However, we found booking difficult and confusing! We spoke to an American lady and we just couldn't understand what she was saying. But we managed to confirm what we wanted and the next thing we knew was that we were talking to 'Sykes Cottages' who we had booked with previously with other holiday cottages. We were then charged the full price (£459) by Sykes PL:US a further £50+ by Home Away. We just don't understand why we had to go through two agents and had to pay the extra £50+ to Home Away, .The cottage was superb but the booking process awful and difficult to understand and process and it cost us an extra £50+ Sorry!
