Enjoy the luxurious feel of a boutique hotel at Aquaterra, a stunning 6 BR, 5.5BA custom built retreat with 4,865 square feet of interior living space in which guests can stretch out in style. Located in the heart of Duck, Aquaterra is within easy walking distance of both the beach and Duck's charming shops and restaurants. Guests will also enjoy plenty of entertaining "at home" thanks to three spacious living/rec areas, a custom 41' pool, a 6-person hot tub, and over 2,100 square feet of decks from which to take in the beautiful views.

The exterior of Aquaterra welcomes guests with ample parking, lush natural landscaping and multiple levels of both sunny and shaded decks. Outside, enjoy the custom salt water pool, the 6-person hot tub with 110 jets, and ample pool deck space for a private family pool party.

The ground floor is designed for family fun: step through the 4-panel slider from the pool area to the spacious, ground level Rec Room - a true teenagers' heaven. . Or retreat to one of the the two ground level bedrooms, which include a King Suite (semi-private bath), and the bunk Room.

The middle level features a King Suite and Two Queen Suites, all with private baths and custom furnishings, which adds to the home's decidedly boutique hotel feel.The King Suite and middle Queen Suite feature direct access to the large front deck, while the second queen suite features a jacuzzi tub. The Laundry Room is centrally located on the middle level.

The master wing is a large King Suite cleverly tucked away on its own private level. It features a king bed, marble-tiled bath with two-person shower with body sprays and large, walk-in closet.

The top level is a smart combination of private retreats and wide open spaces for family gatherings. A private Den with "Eurolounger" sofa and TV is available for some well deserved peace and quiet, while the open space Great Room will be the popular spot for family members to enjoy their time together with a large TV and comfy couches - perfect for movie night.

The custom Gourmet Kitchen features double wall ovens, 5-burner glass convection cooktop, 48" built-in refrigerator/freezer, two dishwashers, a very large island, and a walk-in Pantry. Adjacent to the Kitchen is the formal Dining Room, which leads to the large Front Deck for alfresco dining. Additional outdoor dining and relaxing is available on the covered deck off the kitchen. The two covered decks on the top level allow with seating everyone.

Perfect Family/Friend Getaway

Where do I even begin! Suzan was a wonderful host and her home was PERFECT for our getaway. The house is nestled right in Duck walking distance from the boardwalk and many shops. It has greenery around it so we were secluded from other homes. A deer stopped by a few times! The inside of the house was beautiful! We were able to fit five families comfortably and share meals together. The front and back porches were peaceful getaways when you needed some alone time. I don't think we even turned on the TVs even though there were so many. The pool and hot tub were great! The kids loved access to it. The deck has enough lounge furniture for everyone.

Perfect Getaway!

One short block from the center of Duck but totally private. This is way nicer than any rental we’ve ever had. Clean, well equipped, nicely furnished, thoughtfully laid out. The pool and hot tub were great. State of the art connectivity was welcome, as were multiple smart tv’s.

Beautiful home

It was such a pleasure renting from Suzan! We were able to check in early after a long drive. The home was absolutely beautiful and spotless, with so much space to spread out for our large family. The pool and hot tub area were perfect for all the ages in our family, and location is an easy walk to shops and restaurants on the Duck boardwalk. We will be back!

Relaxing visit

Wonderful house, a very short walk to shops and food. Suzan was super easy to work with. Bike rental made the beach an easy trip (you’ll want to rent some) but mostly we hung out at the pool. We only had 6 but the house could’ve easily slept 10-12.

Amazing location, amazing property

This is an amazing property. Location is fantastic...you can easily walk to shops, market, boardwalk in Duck which is a very charming town. The house feels very private and is even better than the pictures. It was very well stocked, extremely clean and had great high end finishes throughout. Suzan was great to work with.

Family vacation

This was a beautiful home with everything we needed for 12. Lots of space for everyone. The house is situated close to stores, restaurants and about a 15 minute walk to the beach or a 5 minute drop off by car. Everyone had a great stay at Aquaterra!

Awesome Home, Awesome Vacation!

Aquaterra was such a treat to stay in. Each level seemed to be perfectly laid out. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to make a family meal. Bedrooms having their own private bath were on point. The pool was a hit for the kids and adults, both relaxing and fun. The hot tub was there for that nice relaxing soak as well. The back decks were great to sit outside and star gaze, while the front decks were perfect for our morning breakfast. The location of the home is perfect for walking to shops, restaurants, checking out the beach, and getting out to the nearby towns. Walking to Duck Donuts where the kids watched all the topping being put on them was a hit. We especially loved our trip to Kitty Hawk to see the Wright Brothers museum and a trip further down the road to Nags Head to see and climb Bodie Island Lighthouse along with a stop at Coquina Beach. Thank you Suzan for helping to make our vacation not just a good one, but a great one! You made the entire process seamless!

Best family vacation

This house was above and beyond our expectations. Suzan was great to work with and made sure our visit went off without a hitch! She even had a pack-n-play and high chair for our grandkids. We are a family of 11, 8 adults and 3 kids and the house provided privacy and great outdoor spaces. Our favorite things were the pool, hot tub and bocce ball court. The location is perfect and we frequently walked to dinner and the water. Hope we get a chance to come back someday.

Aquaterra = Amazing, there’s so much to say about this beautiful property.

Every year I pick a location for my family vacation and this year we decided on the Outer Banks. I’m so glad that I found Aquaterra during my search because it was beyond our expectations. The property is situated in an excellent location that is close to stores, restaurants, the Duck boardwalk, and more. Our first impression of the house was “wow”, it is very spacious and immaculate. The main rooms are open, the doorways are wide, and the wood floors throughout the house are very nice. Some of the highlights that we enjoyed were the large kitchen, the balconies and porches, the gas grill, and the pool/hot tub area. All of the rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable. This house is kid friendly and the kids enjoyed sleeping in the room with bunk beds. The house manual helped us find local attractions and activities in the area. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze and the WiFi was good. I could go on and on about how great our first stay in the Outer Banks was because of this property but I would run out of characters. We will definitely rent this house again in the future and if you’re considering renting it “go for it” you will be beyond pleased, it’s beautiful. Thanks again to Tim & Suzan for sharing this amazing property and making our stay hassle free.

Stunning home with great walkability

Nothing in this house disappointed! Everything was modern, spacious, and beautifully appointed. There was nothing we needed for cooking or comfort that wasn't available in the home. The pool was amazing, and kept our kids entertained all week. I cannot express enough what an amazing location it is for dining and shopping. We had a short walk to the Boardwalk on the Soundside for sunsets each evening. We had easy access to Blue Point and other favorite dining and happy hour spots. It was so relaxing to not have to get into our cars. All of Duck was an easy walk or bike ride to enjoy. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Great property, beautiful home with amenities!

We stayed at aquaterra in early April. We were very impressed with this home which was perfect for us with a wide range of children’s ages. Access to WiFi, board games, good ball were all big pluses. Each bedroom was spacious and well-furnished. Multiple full baths make this a great home Forbes multiple families. The home was clean and the kitchen was especially impressive. We also enjoyed the pool with heater! Location was convenient to sound, restaurants and shops. It was also a short walk to the beach! We will stay here again.

Aquaterra was custom built in 2011, on a beautiful private lot with both a sunny pool area and several separate deck areas shaded by numerous live oaks. Aquaterra was built to be "a home" - it is NOT your typical "rental machine." Aquaterra is located on a small, quiet cul-de-sac with both full-time, year-round residents and a few rental homes.
