We found the accommodation clean and modern and well presented. It was great to have the swimming pool, games room and tennis courts to keep the teenagers entertained even when the weather wasn't great! The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend it.
This is our second year. Family of 10 staying on site(8 in Sharrow and 2 in Freathry). Sharrow is open, easy flowing house. The open plan kitchen, dining and front room is ideal for a family, the undercover outside area has plenty of seating and lovely to spend an evening.
Swimming pool is ideal to keep the kids entertained, booking an hour slot so you have the pool to yourselves is great.
Theresa and Phil are about if you need them and very helpful/friendly
We will look to return
Phil and Theresa are in the process of doing the properties/area up, so the area is a bit rough and ready but that aside they more than make up for it with there friendliness and helpfulness. The pool which is booked in hour slots is a real asset to the property. The cottage has all you need for your stay, beds were comfy enough and living room accommodated us all. Kitchen a little small but I know this is being changed soon. The nearest beach is about 15mins walk through a field and narrow pathway but we managed it with a pushchair, dog and 4 kiddies!
We have booked for next year and look forward to seeing the developments they have made.

Where do I start
The cottage was difficult to locate, the sofas are so hard it was uncomfortable, the bed I think the mattress was so old it had given up. It creeped every time you moved. We were absolutely freezing couldn’t work out the heating. Making toast set off the fire alarm. The showers are over the bath but nothing to hold onto to assist. Definately wouldn’t return. When you pay nearly £500 for an out of season weekend you expect a certain level of comfort.
Ideal for our family group of 3 generations, could do with refreshing and tidying up but the new owners have only been there since January and they do have alot of ground work to do. Great to be able to use the pool and lovely walks surrounding the property. Could do with a bigger TV with more channels. But overall a brilliant holiday.
Nine of us stayed in Sharrow, there was plenty of room, it is a great size, very clean and served our needs well. The pool was excellent and the booking system made it even better, making it our private pool for an hour a day. The location is great and made it possible for us to access a variety of local and further afield attractions. The owners were really friendly and knowledgeable and we will definitely book here again.
We used Sharrow as a base for our long weekend break. It is situated in an idyllic location. The accommodation is basic but clean, and was ideal for me and my family. The Grandchildren loved the pool, and the dog loved the open fields. All in all it was a relaxing break. The owners were close for any queries, and nothing was too much trouble.
We were shocked at the state of every room in the cottage the bed linen was poor quality the duvet I would not have let my dog sleep on dirty old flat duvet we took our own bedding so in our room we were fine one girl in a bunk bed room opened her window and it was full of bugs the internet hardly worked we turned of the mains up to 20 times a day the bathrooms had rust and mould the toilets down the front were soiled the washing machine room was in a terrible state very dirty didn’t look as if it had been cleaned in a long time the whole place was run down window sills green with mould we had one bowl in the kitchen so I had to buy dishes to cook in the dish washer was so loud and took a long time
A great base from which to explore Devon and Cornwall
The property is a good size, we were two families both with two children, and it suited ours needs well. Covid-enforced changes meant we couldn't access all the onsite facilities, but the pool booking system was easy and fair and we spent an enjoyable hour there most days. The location offers great options to explore Devon and Cornwall, which is what we did. There were some minor quibbles, there are not enough - and not big enough - glasses for 8 people, and we would have liked more outdoor seating so we could have made more of the BBQ.
Just had a week in the larger cottage with all the family. Very clean and tidy with a great pool that we had almost to ourselves. Children loved the ponies and the space to play ball games in the field. Took about 15 minutes to walk down to Cawsand beach which although small was fine for us, a little stony.
Be warned on a hot day it is quite steep to eat back up the hill!!
My granddaughter wanted a piggyback!
Parking by the beach was fine though if you couldn’t face the walk

About the host
Hosted by Carolyn White
My name is Carolyn White and we are a family run holiday business known as Wringford Cottages located on the Rame Peninsula in South East Cornwall. There are 6 holiday cottages situated in the grounds of an old stone Cornish farmhouse. Phill and Theresa live on site and look after the cottages and guests. We took over Wringford Cottages in 2021 and have been working hard to upgrade the cottages and facilities. The location is unique as the Rame Peninsula is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by spectacular scenery and nearby beaches. It is the best of both worlds as it is very rural and peaceful but only a 10 minute walk into Cawsand with a number of fabulous pubs and beach. To the west is Whitsand Bay with 4 miles of spectacular beaches. It is easily accessible being only 30 minutes from Saltash - the gateway into Cornwall and around 45 minutes from Plymouth.
Why they chose this property
Comfortable accommodation surrounded by beautiful countryside and within walking distance of beaches and pubs. Lots of things to do in and around the area including spectacular walks, swimming, surfing, paddle boarding and golf. Within a short drive are many attractions for the whole family. There is a ferry from Cawsand beach to the Barbican in Plymouth with numerous water side pubs and restaurants.
What makes this property unique
Situated in the middle of the Rame Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty, but with the facilities of Plymouth Close by. Wringford Cottages offer a peaceful haven away from the crowds and a perfect location for exploring both Devon and Cornwall.
