About this property

Two bed light & airy flat in central Zone 1, with excellent views over London.

Hello!

My flat (postcode E1) less than a 15 min walk to Tower Hill tube station (Circle/District line), the Tower of London & the historic St Katharine’s Dock with all its restaurants & the beautiful reconstructed 18th century Dickens Inn.

Shoreditch & the lovely Spitalfields Market are a 20 min walk away. The closest station to the flat is Shadwell (on the Docklands Light Railway, accessed via Bank station), and is about a 6 min walk away.

My flat is a very light & bright spacious two bed, with kitchen, living room (I have replaced the tv in the photo) bathroom and separate wc. (The flat is strictly max. 4 persons due to insurance).

There are excellent views from this traditional 1960's tower block. I have a south facing balcony from which you can see Tower Bridge & the London Eye.

The larger bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, large wardrobes & large mirror and the smaller one has a new standard double bed, wardrobe & large mirror. The bathroom has a good shower in the bath, heated from a combi boiler - you will never run out of hot water!

In the lounge, apart from the amazing views, you’ll find the wifi and tv, an extending dining-table, 4 chairs and a large L-shaped settee. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, new washer/dryer, double oven and hob. There is also a new microwave, kettle, 4 slot toaster & a dab radio.

The flat has been newly updated, including real wood floors and new bathroom. (I have detailed instructions on how to access iPlayer/Netflix upon request.)

I leave towels, washing machine powder, tea, coffee, sugar, cooking basics, kitchen paper, toilet paper & shower gel for your use. There is also a fold-up baby cot, should you require it, & a hairdryer.

East London, and it's fascinating history, has become one of the most fashionable areas of the city. The River Thames & many famous old traditional pubs, such as The Prospect of Whitby, are all close by. There is a very good, large Waitrose supermarket, open late, near by.

Cute & homey flat
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. Very well decorated and kept and we felt so comfortable. We were grateful to have a washing machine. Gorgeous views from the balcony! We also enjoyed being a quick walk from the Tower Bridge and walked across it most days. Weekdays there is a DLR and overground stop 8 minutes away, nights and weekends the closest station is 15 minutes. Not too much of a bother for us, but keep it in mind.

The flat is as described - clean, bright and nicely appointed. The building is run down and the neighborhood seems unsafe. We did not feel we could stay there. Property owner was not open to any type of refund. Unit is in a building in government housing block. Key pick up is at a convenience store and a walk to the property which also feels unsafe. Would not have booked if I understood these things in advance.

My husband and i usually stay on the west side of London; however we wanted to try something different and i'm glad we did. Our host, Ian was responsive to our inquiries. The location was perfect, not too far from Central London. We took walks along the River Thames. There was plently to explore. We would stay again and hopefully, stay longer.

Lovely place
Very nice place to stay that’s close to many train stations and within walking distance of most of central london. Extra pillows were provided but pillowcases would be nice too. If you prefer a luxurious washroom this might not be the place for you, but aside from that it’s lovely. a perfect place with a large kitchen, plenty of living space, a balcony, and spacious bedrooms. I quite like the neighborhood as wel.

The apartment was as advertised. It was clean and neat. There were instructions for the washer and dryer but not for the stove which presented a problem. Instructions on how to operate/turn on the stove would be helpful. We also could not open the door to the balcony. We did enjoy the views and felt relaxed in the living room. The location was close to the Tower Bridge area. It was a very pleasant stay.

Schöne Wohnung mit guter Lage
Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist hervorragend. Alles da, was man benötigt - sogar Adapter für die Steckdose. Das Gebäude bzw. die Umgebung ist zunächst "gewöhnungsbedürftig", die Wohnung ist sehr schön! Für große Menschen könnten die Betten vielleicht etwas klein sein. Für uns hat es gut gepasst.

sehr gut eingerichtete Wohnung in der Nähe der schönen St. Kathrins Docks, fußläufig zum Tower und Tower Bridge.Großer Balkon mit Aussicht auf London, aber laut. Betten könnten breiter sein, Einrichtung der Küche lies keine Wünsche offen. Abholung und Rückgabe des Schüssels umständlich. Nicht ratsam mit Gepäck, wenn man mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln anreist.

Short trip to central London
We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed our vacation. All in the apartment was like described, short ways to Tower Bridge, Tube and DLR-Station were a plus. Nice and wide view from balcony especially in the evenings. Great communication with Ian, so little hiccups were solved quickly. We‘d like to come back someday.

Decent spot close to Thames
Great little stay. Family of 4, and it was within a short walk to tube station, The Tower and the Thames Walk. My only complaint was it could get noisy from traffic and sirens. It is an urban area so it’s a little to be expected, but that would be my only comment. Everything else was great. Communications were prompt.

apartment near Shadwell
Coming from the US we had no real idea where to stay or what areas were ok. The most vexing and difficult thing about this property was that the key was a 14 min walk from the actual property. This was explained to me by the property manager as a me problem because I did not check in between the times of 3 and 7 pm. This was not communicated ahead of time. We had to ask our airport driver to make a special stop and then when he dropped us off he kept saying that we were staying in "council" housing. Somehow even though we checked out at a very respectable 10:30 am we had to return the key to this walk 14 minutes away. The flat was good as advertised, beds comfortable, good view, fairly nice location but the building was horribly stinky and the elevator as well. Glad I was with my tall husband and family.

Great Spot
Open light-filled apartment with great views of city. Sights like Tower of London, as well as restaurants on the Thames are within walking distance: 1-2 miles. Sainbury is within a couple blocks. Amenities were very good and functioned well. Ian is a responsive host.

Fun Location - Not so central
The apartment was clean and as pictured. The rooms were small. We really didn't cook or use the kitchen much so I can't comment on that. The bedrooms were small but very functional. It is in a building development. It was very close to the Thames and London Bridge and Tower, which we enjoyed. From there you have access to the walkway along the river which takes you through many neighborhoods. It is also close to the Katherine Docks where there were a few cute restaurants and a supermarket. It's a bit of a walk to the tube but once there, easy access to everywhere. My one comment would be that if you want to be in the "city" this is more of an outskirt neighborhood. I think there was a lot more to explore nearby. A flower market and an artisan market but we only had so much time. I live in a part of Brooklyn that is very central so I'm a little spoiled. Ian was easy to communicate with.

Perfectly fine, just not 5*
The flat is large and well equipped and clean but a little rough around the edges. The neighbourhood is accessible but not close to grocery stores and the building is very run down. Its very quiet at night and at the end of a dead end street so you may not feel comfortable at night walking hime alone. The pick up and drop off of the key is a nuisance as it has to be done a 15 min walk from the flat - a bother when lugging luggage! Jack hammer construction was going on in the bulding while we were there - probably a renovation that you cant predict. Host was very responsive to questions.

My family and I were very comfortable on this apartment. Close to the London Bridge and with supermarkets very close where we solved many of the meals we made during our visit. Large living room, incredible views and two bedrooms with large beds. We were able to organise ourselves very well. Transport is also nearby and you communicate with the points of interest with ease. Great apartment with a view!
Our stay at Ian’s flat was simply fantastic! the apartment is very clean and stylish - with all things for the everyday life like washing machine, coffee and pans/ pots for cooking. Also, the location is perfect —it’s super central (10 min walk from Tower of London), making it easy to reach all major attractions and the subway station Tower Hill in no time. The best part: The beds were incredibly cozy and really comfy! Communicating with Ian was super easy and he was very helpful with every question we had. All in all: Great experience. Would definitely do it again!
