A modern oceanside studio in North Akumal at Nahil. Steps to the beach and pool, or chill on your private deck. Some of the best snorkeling in the world straight off the beach awaits you. Akumal means "Place of the Turtles" in Mayan and there is a good chance you will see them. The studio is newly furnished with a king bed, couch, and is decorated by Mexican Artisans with handcrafted furniture and art for an authentic Mexican feel. An abundantly furnished kitchen awaits you, or walk or rent a bike to over 8 restaurants and shops. Walk around the corner to world famous Yal - Kul Lagoon and view the former Grateful Dead House or head to the beach for fishing and diving tours. Head up or down the highway to explore dozens of cenotes, underground springs and rivers, or head out to the many Mayan ruins.
Enjoy the warmth of the Mayan people and their culture. Go ahead speak some Spanish! But above all, enjoy the Aqua blue ocean, the white sand beach, the sun and the laid back atmosphere. Truly a comfortable place to relax!

Fantastic property

Lovely unit with a patio surrounded by foliage. Great snorkeling right from the beach, with the reef just off-shore only 6 to 8 feet deep. Mixed shoreline sand/coral/rocks. Make sure you stock up on groceries before arriving since there are no large supermarkets nearby. You don't need a car but it would be easier with one. We shopped at Chedraui in Peurto Aventuras then took a taxi to the place (600 pesos) A few nice restaurants in walking distance, we really enjoyed La Beuna Vida on the beach. This place will always be special for us :) I proposed to my partner on the beach and she said yes!!!

Perfect Casita!

We had a fantastic time at Steven’s casita. His place is perfect for a couple! The location has an amazing reef right out front for snorkeling. Easy and awesome communication with owner! Highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back!! Thanks Steven!!

So good we stayed there twice

Feel a bit of a cheat doing another review so soon! Steve couldn't fit us in on consecutive weeks but we did come back for three more days before we finished our trip. It was as excellent as the first stay. Thanks Steve.

Wonderful place to stay

Great location in Akumal near the reef so snorkeling off the beach was great. Not so much sargassum in this corner of the bay too. Really close to the yal Ku lagoon and the local shop. Lovely apartment with all the facilities you need, even condiments for the kitchen and a terrific shady terrace. Very tastefully furnished and Steve has thought of everything!! The beach front has a lovely pool and lots of parasols and loungers. You can even get up to the roof for some stunning views all round. The apartment itself has no view but it's a 10 second walk to the beach through the main condo block. All very private and quiet. Highly recommended, so much so we've booked to come back next week! Well done Steve and the nice people at Nihil

Beautiful property right on the ocean. Very clean and very nice host. Property manager was also very friendly and helpful. A little difficult to get to if you don't have a car, but well worth it once you do.

Nice spot

Super cute small condo in great area. Best spot on bay as far as the sargassum-check before you go. It's not right on beach or pool but we preferred the quiet little patio. Only steps to the beach and pool. Owner was great with help or advice. Snorkeling was ok a bit trampled but some good stuff to see. It was pretty wavy when we were there so could be better when seas are calm. Maids and ground staff very good. Good restaurants close. Morningstar, Jungle cafe very good. Skip La Buena Vida and go to La Lunita. Short walk to Yal Ku but I wouldn't recommend it, your better off exploring the bay right out the door. Nice pool well kept. Condo is basically one room but perfect for 2.

Beautiful Condo at Nahil

We throughly enjoyed our stay here. The Nahil Condo building is beautiful and well maintained with a gorgeous courtyard, pool, and beach. This property specifically is immaculately clean with daily maid service. The bed is firm but very comfortable with soft pillows and linens. The kitchen is well equipped though we only prepared snacks and quesadillas. One of the things I’ve learned to look for when booking is a comfortable couch or chairs and was very happy that the sofa in this unit didn’t disappoint. We spent a ton of time hanging out on the semi private patio and even made friends with our upstairs neighbors. I especially loved the giant sliding glass doors opening on to the patio. The Nahil condo building is located at the north side of Half Moon Bay farther away from the main plaza but a very easy walk to the amazing Yal-Ku Lagoon and restaurants including La Lunita, La Buena Vida, and The Jungle. We are avid snorklers and Half Moon Bay has a great variety of sea life and small coral heads scattered throughout just a few steps away from our door! We highly recommend a stay at Nahil and hope to return sometime in the near future.

Quiet and relaxing!

The condo has a secluded and large lanai that we spent many hours relaxing on. The bed is really comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The staff is excellent and helped us with whatever we needed as did Steve. We loved how cheerful everyone was in the neighbourhood. The snorkelling is fabulous and only steps away from the condo! Wonderful, quiet, and well-kept

Felt like a home away from home especially after a stressful few days on Cozumel. One of the new generation of condos on Half Moon Bay in Akumal behind two gates with security and walking distance from Yal-Ku Lagoon. Be sure to check out the view from the top of the main building. We will be back.

Perfect Spot

The studio was just as advertised, perfect for two. Very quiet, clean and well kept - kitchen had everything we needed. The pool was just steps away and the beach just beyond. The property was full but did not seem crowded, more than enough room at the pool.

Perfect Love Nest at the Beach

Took my wife for our 28th Honeymoon to Akumal and stayed in Nahil #10. The condo was well appointed, had a kitchen ready for food prep, and a comfortable bed. We were steps from the beach and loved that we could run back to the condo to grab another beer or just get out of the sun for a little while. We rented bikes (which seemed romantic at the time - but the reality was a sore crotch) and rode to the restaurants and shops in Akumalito. The condo owner was great and had great communication. Would definitely stay here again.

A secluded diamond for sunny vacationers

We really enjoyed our stay. It is a secluded safe area with amenities like, beautiful one bed condo that was very clean quiet with air conditioning, 30 paces to pool, and 50 paces to half moon bay that was like swimming in salt water fish aquarium. We are going to do it again in the near future. Thanks!

Cozy studio, perfect for a couple

Enjoyed our stay at Nahil very much, The unit was modern, cozy and clean, with a big comfortable bed and a nice outdoor space. The staff was friendly and attentive, And responded to questions and requests quickly. There is a nice little beach area and pool for cooling off, and is within walking distance of a few great restaurants . Highly recommend La Buena Vida for its excellent view , vibes and food. Cant wait to come back

Serene getaway on the beach

The condo is wonderfully located on Half Moon Bay- a quiet beach with incredible snorkeling. My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights here and loved it. The condo is exactly as advertised and any questions we had for Steve prior to our trip were promptly answered. During our stay, the property managers and the housekeeping was excellent. The location was great for what we had planned which was primarily to snorkel and sit by the pool and beach. There was no seaweed during our visit and even on wavy days the water is clear so we were able to see the plantlike on the reef, a lone sea turtle and countless numbers of fish. You do have to swim out a ways into the bay to really see the reef but it's more than worth it. When we did visit the more touristy sites, it was nice to come back to such a quiet, relaxing spot. While we did rent a car, I think it is possible to get by without one. There are bikes and golf carts to rent for getting around Akumal, restaurants within walking distance and several more about 2 miles down the road, and there is a shuttle service available to go beyond Akumal. I really can't say enough good things about our stay. We are already planning to return.

Beautiful and quiet getaway

The condo is about a mile up the beach from the village of Akumal and it's on a private and guarded road which made it feel very safe and probably also keeps the crowds away. There are much less people than even in the village. Still we have had 3 very nice restaurants and a couple of small shops within 5 minutes walking distance of the condo. The property itself is beautiful and very well kept. There is a nice swimming pool and immediate access to a private beach. It has nice comfortable lounge chairs and some palm trees for shade. We were there in January and the ocean was very comfortable to swim in. The beach is a little rocky, so I would recommend shoes to go into the water. I snorkeled every day and saw a lot of fish. Other people told us they saw turtles as well. There were a fair amount of waves, which made snorkeling a little hard at times but it was still enjoyable. There is a property manager directly on the property, so we could get instant help if we needed something. Everybody was extremely helpful and friendly. The condo itself was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. We rented a car for our trip but it wouldn't be necessary. The village and access to tour buses are all within walking distance. We definitely want to come back. Thank you very much!

Nice unit on quiet part of the beach

Loved the location. close enough to walk/bike to everything you need, but away from the bustle on a quiet private part of the beach. Complex is new and well maintained and has a 4th floor roof deck for great sunset viewing. Unit 10 is a studio on the ground floor. Furnished nicely with modern appliances and artful decor. Bed and pillows were comfortable. No TV in unit (we didn't miss it) Water pressure in shower is not great, but that may be a conservation measure. The Akumal area does seem be more environmentally conscious than some others. We didn't have any issues, but the owners were very responsive the couple of times we had questions for them. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again next time we are in the area.

great spot for relaxation

Great place for two people, pool was nice and quiet, walking distance to restaurants. Walking into the actual town is about 2 miles. We rented a golf cart from MexiArte which is in playa Akumal, a mile walk from Nahil. The grocery store is in the same area as the golf cart rental, and they have plenty of items for your stay as well as a ATM.
