About this property

3 acre waterfront estate - heated pool, hot tub, yard, pier, game and pub room!

This home has everything for enjoying waterfront and poolside living, while also being very convenient to major tourist attractions. The house is set in a park-like setting on almost 3 acres and has something for everyone.

The large, heated swimming pool with waterfalls and awesome waterslide, plus the huge yard will keep the kids entertained, while the adults can relax on the large tanning ledge and in the 8-person hot tub while enjoying an evening fire. Nature lovers will enjoy peaceful walks through the woods to the water’s edge, where there is another lawn and picnic area and access to the water toys. There is abundant wildlife, including a resident pair of blue herons, osprey, deer, and fox, plus the occasional bald eagle sighting. Enjoy the large, deep-water creek with direct access to the Severn River. Swim, kayak, canoe, and SUP without having to worry about boat traffic and waves. Fish and crab right off the pier. For the fitness enthusiast, there are bikes in a variety of sizes, and over 100 acres of bike trails just a 5 minute bike ride away. Quiet residential roads with beautiful views for the running enthusiast. For rainy days there is a tread mill and stairmaster in the house. And after your workout, enjoy both an infrared/dry sauna, or a wet sauna/steam room! For the sport enthusiast, there is a huge yard with all the yard games you can imagine: volleyball, tetherball, basketball, horseshoes, ping pong, bocce ball, croquet, ladderball, cornhole and more. There is even a pickleball net to set up on the driveway for casual play, or community tennis and pickleball courts are just a short walk away (rackets and balls are provided). Plus, there is a game room in the basement with pool table, shuffleboard table and video games. A big variety of both adult and kid board and card games are also available.

The large patio is perfect for family gatherings with gas and wood burning fire pits and plenty of seating. Beautiful community on point of land surrounded by water. Plenty of parking. Community tennis courts and playground are less than a 5 minute walk away. Extensive network of hiking/biking trails covering over 100 acres are a 10 minute walk away. The deep water pier has a vacant boat slip - bring your own boat or rent one from a local marina. Access to the Severn River and 6 miles by water to the US Naval Academy, historic Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy exploring the water with 2 kayaks, a 3 person canoe, 2 SUP boards, and a 4 person paddle boat. Great fishing off of the pier. Life jackets, fishing and crabbing equipment are also provided.

Historic Annapolis is just 7 miles away, Washington D.C. and Baltimore are easy day trips - less than 30 miles away. For amusement park, Six Flags is 30 minutes away, and there is another large water park and beaches on the Chesapeake Bay just 45 minutes away.
For rainy days and nighttime, the lower level of the house is an inside party dream, with a home theater area with a 75 inch TV and theater seating, a bar/pub area with large bar and seating for 7, and a rec room with fireplace, pool table, shuffleboard table and video games.

The main level of the house has a formal dining room with table that can accommodate 12, a formal living room with baby grand piano, and a kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counters, seating for 10 and all the cooking appliances you could need. The large two-story family room attached to the kitchen has peaceful wood and water views and plenty of seating, with a fireplace and a 65 inch TV. Powder room and laundry are also on the main level. Upstairs are 4 bedrooms, each with an attached bath (bedrooms 2 and 3 share a bathroom). Master bedroom has a king bed, and a luxury bath with a jetted air tub plus large shower, dual sinks, heated floors and a heated towel rack. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed. Bedroom 3 has 2 full/double beds. Bedroom 4 has a queen bed. Two queen-sized air mattresses and comfortable couches can accommodate extra people. The lower level has a bedroom with a flexible layout - 4 twin beds can be used separately or 2 of the beds can be joined together to make a king bed. A large full bathroom with steam sauna is also on this level.

Note: The pool is open and heated from May 15 through Labor day. The pool is heated up to 85 degrees during daylight hours only. During especially cool days it might not be possible to maintain 85 degrees at all times. Upon request, pool may be open/heated during other times (April to November, depending on weather) or heated to a higher temperature for an additional propane charge per day.

Fun family vacation!
Lovely house set in nice neighborhood. Swimming pool fun for all ages with perfectly placed umbrellas, wonderful shallow end with lots of inflatables and basketball net. Deep end perfect for jumping and the slide. Also it was surrounded by beautiful plantings and lots of seating. We enjoyed eating suppers outside. We left the parlor and formal dining room unused, but spent a lot of time in the kitchen and family room side of the house. Great TV and adjustable thermostat. Cindy and Dave were great hosts and made a bed available on the 1st floor for our 97 yr old Mom. The creek was a nice addition but we found the kayaks, canoe and paddle boards a bit grungy. There was no hot water in basement bedroom’s bathroom. The weather was perfect so we never used the game room or bar. The dogs had a great time, especially swimming in the creek. A great place for a family vacation!

Family reunion
This home was perfect for our reunion with our current 12 member family traveling from London, Seattle, Portland, Virginia and Washington, DC. The size of the house and the property allowed everyone’s needs to be attended to in terms of space. The swimming pool with slide, the river with kayaks and a canoe, the swing set and tire swing kept all ages entertained and happy.

Everything you could want for a family
This property had everything a family could want, especially for our five grandkids aged 1-6. The pool, hot tub and patio were wonderful and we spent most of our time there. The kids also loved the home theater setup and the arcade game, pool and shuffleboard.

Amazing house and amenities
The house has everything a group could want or need! Pool, water slide, game room, and right on the water. Cindy was great to work with and best of all: we didn’t have to bring towels and sheets or wash everything and clean fridge when we left! This was our second time renting the home and would do so again in a heartbeat!

Fabulous stay on the water with amenities for all ages infant to teen to adult
Loved our stay in this beautifully landscaped home on a quiet creek off the Severn River near Annapolis! We had a multigenerational family of 15 that included infants, children, teens and adults. We were able to bring in a sailboat to the dock for use, paddle and kayak and enjoy the pool with slide and hot tub. Sailed to Annapolis for lunch one day and played around on he Severn all week but also enjoyed paddling off the dock, fishing and crabbing. The house was very accommodating for all ages and the owners were very responsive. Loved our time here!

A Beautiful Home In A Bucolic Neighborhood
The house is beautifully landscaped in an upscale community at the end of Kyle Road in the Herald Harbor community. There are numerous amenities to enjoy including a pool table, shuffleboard table, movie theater set up, steam shower, grand piano and electric keyboard. The pool in the backyard is spectacular, and there is a whirlpool spa. There is a large gas grill and separate griddle. The house is ideal for families with kids. There is even a nice little park/playground for the kids a short walk down the road. Cindy, the owner, is very dog friendly, and just about every house in the row has at least one dog. The entire area is very dog friendly! The neighborhood is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from serious shopping for groceries, and pharmaceuticals as well as serious dining. In short, the house is an ideal getaway for families with children and dogs to relax and have fun. You will want to park in the spacious driveway and not run around to go sightseeing. Cindy is a caring and considerate owner who has created a “my home is your home” environment, welcoming guests to use the facilities and her supplies.

After a long separation, our family group of 13 ( ages 3 to 69) , were gathered for 5 nights, 4 days at this lovely home. Everything was excellent. The pool had a lovely shallow shelf for the young one , the slide was a hit with everyone. The access to the dock, kayaks, little sandy beach was wonderful. The numerous “ stations” of tables, umbrellas, the hammock made it easy to be together or get some time alone or with a small group. The kitchen was completely functional, with great appliances. Grills outside as well. The piano room was so lively and the perfect spot for a little quiet time for the youngest. Living areas were versatile as you could have a card game going on in dining room, more active gathering in living room with a gorgeous floor to ceiling fireplace. We have been to several locations as a large group; this is the first one that’s been discussed as a possible return to!

Amazing Week at Herald Harbor
There’s no doubt that water was the highlight of the week - from the beautiful pool and hot tub - to the kayaking, canoeing, paddle boat, & SUP boards - not to mention the excellent crabbing, we had all the water sport activity one could ask for. After the grandchildren (and adults) had their daily fill of all of the above there were plenty of indoor activities, even a movie or two, to make for full, fun and exciting days. Thanks Cindy and Dave for providing the perfect spot for a perfect vacation!

The book club weekend.
Overall a good property and an enjoyable stay. A few concerns- the refrigerator was emptied but not clean, the dishwasher was not empty, we paid 200.00 extra for two days to use the pool but with check- in at 5 on Friday and check-out at 10 AM on Sunday we really only had one day with the pool which never heated to 80 as we were told. Nevertheless the place was comfortable and very pleasant.

Perfect Family Summertime Vacation
I'm always wary of reviews that go on and on about how wonderful a home is. So I'll state that this one doesn't have a moat with a drawbridge over alligators. But other than that it has everything! The pool is amazing and kept our boys (ages 12 and 9) occupied all week, and that was when they weren't down diving off the dock and swimming over to the **water trampoline** (seriously? that's a thing? where was this when I was a kid???) to bounce off of into the water. Want to ride bikes with the family? They've got that. Want to hang out downstairs with the xbox and your boys while the rest of the family wonders where you are? Yep, that's a possibility as well! We cooked most of our meals, but did venture out a few nights to recommended restaurants and of course, they were amazing as well! If you're considering bringing the family together and want everything taken care of before you get there, you truly can't go wrong here.

Perfect Location
What a truly beautiful spot we found. The house and grounds were perfect for our group of 12. The best part was the location. Several in our group had never been to this area and we were easily able to visit Annapolis, Baltimore, Washington, and a quaint town just over the Chesapeake Bay bridge! Would definitely recommend this property!

What a great find!
Our 15 member family, comprising of 3 generations which included 8 adults and 7 children, just returned from celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. The entire experience was all that we had hoped for and more. Our daily trips to Annapolis, Washington DC and the Baltimore aquarium were all great experiences, but the highlight of the trip turned out to be the property itself and all it had to offer. We had wonderful weather. The pool was the center of our daily activities, including brunches and lunches. The slide, the waterfalls, the basketball hoop and hot tub all added to the fun. The games provided in the basement were a terrific source of entertainment. The afternoon spent at the river was amazing. Life jackets were supplied by Cindy. Adults and children were out in the kayaks, paddle boards and a paddle boat. There was a trampoline beyond the dock which proved to be great fun. The grandchildren stood in front of their parents on the paddle boards. Children swam alongside the watchful eyed adults in kayaks. Everyone worked their way down to the Chesapeake Bay and back. The 8 adults took turns shopping and preparing meals. Everyone helped out, adding to the fun. Appetizers were served at the kitchen table as everyone did their part to prepare the meal. After their dinner, the grandchildren watched a movie downstairs with bowls of popcorn, again, supplied by Cindy When the movie ended, they all went off to bed, both happy and exhausted from our full days of activities. While the children watched the movie, the adults gathered in the dining room for good food and wine. What a great way to end our summer. Thank you Cindy.

Very good residence and location for family vacation
We are a family of 12 with 7 adults and 5 children including a baby of 4 months. The house worked very well for us and had very thing we might need. The pool was the big attraction for both adults and children particularly the slide for the children. The waterfront was also used frequently by the children. Our stay was a week and it still was not long enough to use all the facilities. We grilled several times but enjoyed going out to eat close by at the Lure and in Annapolis. We meet Cindy and her husband when we arrived and they were leaving on a trip. Left how to reach them if needed as well as a number for a local family member. We had no need to contact them. Would highly recommend. P Cantwell

A great week with our family.
We need to thank Cindy Shay for renting this over the 4th of July week. It was our 50th anniversary and we invited our two sons and their wives and our four grandsons to join us. It was an outstanding week with so much "outdoor" things to do as well as indoors in the evening. The Waterfront Oasis home was enough room for the 10 of us and we had a great time. Thank you Cindy and Dave. Denny and Bonnie

About the host

Host profile image
We (Cindy and Dave) have lived at the property for 17 years. Cindy grew up in the area and still has a lot of family here. Dave is a native of West Virginia and is a retired Naval officer. Being a native of the area, Cindy knows many of the best kept secrets for touring, etc. - and loves to share them with guests!

Why they chose this property

Cindy grew up waterskiing and crabbing on the rivers of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Her goal was always to own waterfront, but also wanted a large yard. After looking extensively, they found this property, which used to be part of a large farm that encompassed all of Kyle Point. We fell in love with the peace and quiet of Fox Creek. With almost 3 acres of land, we also had plenty of room for a pool and big yard for the kids (and adults) to play. We designed and built the house in 2000 and have loved living here. We love to share our home with others and watch them enjoying themselves in our home as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

The best of both worlds - waterfront to enjoy all the water activities PLUS a large pool and hot tub for those that prefer the pool life!! Plenty of room to spread out, and all the parking you need.
