About this property

Small Luxury Apartment, Central London

SELF-CATERING STUDIO FLAT - GOOD WIFI, Central London, 15 mins by tube to West End.

This is a bright and cheerful studio flat, up one flight of stairs overlooking a nice private garden. It is situated in a lovely Victorian building and is very clean with a modern tiny kitchen in a completely separate room and a separate bathroom. Ideal for 2 or 3 people who want to visit London and have a warm, cosy, quiet, safe place to stay.

THE ABOVE PHOTOS

These were taken by a professional photographer with a wide angle lens. Accordingly, the rooms do appear larger than they really look in real life! Bear in mind, the entire apartment is a mere 28sq. meters, or 300sq. feet.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

There is a high quality 4'6" (1m 37cm) double bed (for 2) in the main room and a single sofa-bed (for 1) in the conservatory area. The sofa-bed is brand new and has a sprung mattress.

CHILDREN

We regret we do nat take children under the age of 8 due to the delicate nature of the furnishings and fabrics.

MOBILE/CELLPHONE RECEPTION

Mobile/cellphone signal reception is generally good. But note, that if getting a British mobile phone on arrival, avoid Virgin mobile phones, as the apartment gets no signal from this network provider. There is no problem from other major UK networks, such as EE, O2, Vodafone, all of which co-operate with all major US and other national network suppliers to provide a good mobile/cellphone service in the UK.

TRANSPORT FACILITIES

Only three minutes around the corner to Willesden Green tube station, on the famous Jubilee line, zone 2. Trains run every 2 minutes and take just 15 min´s to the West End in Central London (Bond St).

RESTAURANTS & CAFES

The apartment is just off the high street, where there is a Sainsbury supermarket, lovely pub/restaurant, Costa coffee bar, Italian and Indian restaurants and more restaurants and cafes nearby. There is of course a typical English fish and chip shop as well, very nearby. Just around the corner there is also a launderette and a handy 24 hour supermarket open 7 days a week.

BANKS/SHOPS/PARKS

There is a Lloyds Bank nearby and plenty of shops of all kinds in the high street and also two chemists. Two lovely parks are nearby, one just a short walk away.

FACILITIES

For your arrival I provide fresh towels, fresh bed linen, duvets, sheets, covers and pillows. All bills are included and there is high-speed Wi-Fi access and a flat screen TV. Street parking is available at £4 per day. Let me know before you arrive if you need this, so I can arrange it for you.

THE KITCHEN

This is a separate room with a door and is not in the bedroom, like so many other flats! Apart from the usual things like a cooker, a tall fridge and microwave oven, there is a kettle, a cafetiere, an iron and a nice fat cat, no I was joking! There´s no cat.

CLEANING CHARGE

The cleaning and laundry charge is £75 if only the double bed is to be used. If the sofa-bed will be used as well, there is an additional laundry charge of £20, making a total of £60. When you book, you will be charged the basic £75. If the sofa-bed is to be used, please bring with you the extra £20 in cash to hand to us on your arrival.

CHECK-IN; CHECK-OUT

Check-in is after 3pm.
Check-out is before 10am.
These times can vary by prior arrangement.

A late check-in after 10pm is not encouraged due to possible disturbance that noise late at night can cause to neighbours.
However, it is possible to arrive at any time as access to the keys and the house is by a blue key box and code, by the side of the front door. The access code will be sent to you shortly before your arrival.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

It's very trendy, lots of good restaurants, coffee bars, and shops - mostly for food purchases. The streets are tree-lined and the area is remarkely quiet for an urban setting. Weekends around here are pleasant, sleepy affairs, good for families and for lovers.

GETTING AROUND

The easiest way to get around in London is by the famous "tube". This is the underground commuting train system in London. It is fast, cheap and is very close to the property, being a mere 3 minutes walk away. This station is called Willesden Green and is on the Jubilee line on the tube. From here, the trains run every 2 minutes (yes, they really are that frequent) and can get you to Bond Street in 15 minutes, handy for some of London's greatest department stores - including Marks & Spencer's and Selfridges.
After midnight, all night, the frequency of trains is reduced to one every 15 minutes.

HOUSE RULES

There aren't any, well pets aren't allowed, sorry. Also the apartment is strictly non-smoking.
A few friends over for a drink is OK, but this is a quiet place and please remind them about the no-smoking rule.

Convenient and Easy
The flat is in a terrific location! It's so close to a tube station, grocery stores and restaurants. It was the perfect spot for my daughter and I to stay comfortably. Communication with Alan was great as well. Very clear check in instructions and directions, as well as responsive during our stay. Highly recommended!

A lovely stay!
We had a wonderful time staying here. The flat was clean and the location was great: just a short tube ride to all the sites! Susie was incredibly welcoming and accommodating.

Lovely Flat!
Great neighborhood, easy access to the train into London tourist sites, very nice local restaurants, and a very nice place to come home to after lots of London tourist activities. Really enjoyed it and would stay there again!

Nothing Luxurious about Flat
Flat was fine. Everything you needed was there. Decent location near the tube. I have a problem with using the word Luxurious in the listing. Nothing luxurious about the place.

Teenager/ mom vacation
We stayed 4 nights and all went well. We were able to hand in our bags before check-in, keys were easy to access later on. Not so big, but ok with separate kitchen and bathroom. Pretty big store for beverage near-by and the underground station just around the corner. Great stay for our needs.

Nice place!
We thought the location and convenience of this little space was perfect! It is small, and tight so organization is really important but we love the diverse neighborhood and convenience to the the underground.

Wonderful Flat
From the start of the reservation, the communication was top-notch. Any questions we had about the flat or the area were communicated quickly. When we arrived we were nearing the end of our 3 week trip that had been very hot. We had been baking in tiny little European flats for weeks with no air movement or AC. The weather was quite the same in London. But this flat not only has a ventilation system that helps remove the hot air from the flat that really helps cool and keep air moving but also a really nice fan. It isn't AC but after the last several weeks it was very welcomed! The flat was spotless and huge in comparison to other flats we have been staying in with quite a bit of storage space. It actually has a proper bed not a futon or some Ikea piece of junk. It is a very comfortable bed that sleeps well. The kitchen actually has pots and pans that you can cook with and some basic spices. The fridge isn't one of the tiny dorm room-sized fridges. It is bigger and holds much more. It is very close to the train station and we found it very easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. There are restaurants and several smaller grocery stores with limited selection. Everything you need is within a 4 or 5 minute walk from the flat. I think that my wife said it best. This flat is far above and beyond our expectations! Thank you so much for this jewel!

Practical
The house is well located with an easy access to the centre of London. However, some equipments are too old and damaged (for instance the table surface was unstable and we have not been able to eat at home).

Delightful getaway!
A friend and I traveled to London for a week and this flat provided a delightful respite just outside of the city that was easily accessible by the tube with a quick 15-20 minute ride. Susie met us upon arrival and showed us around the apartment, which was clean and well-appointed with everything we needed for our vacation - there were even some staple groceries, including fresh fruit and artisan bread, provided to get us started. The flat was on the second floor and housed a private bathroom and private kitchen in addition to the main bedroom and sitting area with table. Storage space was ample. We visited during the recent heat wave, but were able to maintain a cool temperature in the flat by opening windows to the backyard in the evenings. Would definitely recommend to others and would return to stay here again!

Cute little flat.
We stayed 4 nights and were very comfortable in this sweet little flat. Susie was warm and welcoming with fresh flowers, fruit and breakfast essentials. The caretaker was also very helpful showing us to our room and helping with our bags. Excellent service! The location is great with direct access to the Jubilee line right around the corner. Great kabob place for lamb, chicken, salads, etc. for take out or eat in right across from the tube station, good food and so reasonable! We used the little kitchen for breakfast every morning which was well equipped. For London this flat is excellent value.

Pleasant, very small, clean, well equipped. In a nice neighborhood close to the tube station. A bit more worn looking than expected. Suitable only for a couple sharing a bed.

Very cozy and comfortable stay
One of the nicest things about the flat is its convenience to the nearest Tube station - literally just a 5 minute walk. It's also very close to several nice restaurants if you're so inclined. The apartment itself is just the right size - comfortably cozy with enough room to breathe. We loved the little atrium area with doors that opened to the back lawn; it was a nice place to sit to figure out our day each morning. The bed was also comfortable and the drape that acted as a black out shade against the morning light. Our contact Susie was very pleasant to work with and helpful figuring out our travel arrangements in and out of town. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this lodging.

This flat was perfect for our week's visit to London.
The property is in a nice residential neighborhood. Our rear doors opened to a view of the quiet garden below. With the separate sleeping, and living room areas it was very relaxing after a busy day. The underground is just around the corner along with some good eating spots, and grocery stores. Our host was there to show us around the flat and answer questions. We enjoyed our stay. Tim

Fabulous bright apartment with lovely leafy view
This is a really fabulous apartment in a great location. It's so peaceful sitting on the sofa in the sitting area overlooking the leafy garden. The apartment is very well equipped with everything you need and immaculately clean. It's unusual to find a studio flat with a separate kitchen but this one has it. And a separate bathroom too, of course! The location is perfect, just a short walk to the local train station and then 15 minutes to central London. The apartment is on a quiet street but there are lots of shops and restaurants just around the corner. One of my favourites is the Brazilian churascaria for dinner as well as the Italian cafe Mezzoroma for coffee and breakfast, both two minutes walk away. Allan is a fun guy and Susie was friendly and efficient when she greeted me. This charming comfortable apartment is excellent value. I highly recommend it, it's the best in town!

About the host

Host profile image
School: London, England Work: Retired lawyer About: I have been renting out rooms and flats in London for 25 years but now I am retired I have a little more time to be more of a host than a 'landlord' and like to make sure my guests are comfortable and have what they need. I don't offer luxury accommodation - that's in Mayfair and costs a lot more - but I can offer my friendship and guidance whilst you are over here. I'm a born and bred Londoner after all.

Why they chose this property

Why Brent:
Although this apartment is just inside the central core of the city, it is very convenient and quick to get to the West End (the central shopping district) from the house, being a mere 3 minutes walk to the train station, where fast commuter trains arrive every 2 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to arrive at Bond Street tube station. This is a high quality apartment, as can be seen from the photos. The internet wifi and cell phone connections are reliable and fast. Finally, the beds are top quality, and very comfortable. This is a 'Chelsea' apartment in Willesden Green! A safe and very quiet area.

What makes this property unique

Air-con, for a start. Very few UK properties have this feature, which can be a life-saver in hot, humid summer weather.
Second, this apartment has direct access to a patio and garden. Lovely for breakfast or summer drinks in the cool evening.
Third, the property is very close to all the local restaurants, cafes, pharmacies and train station. Also the 266 bus takes you direct to Brent Cross shopping mall in 15 minutes.
