We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, spacious and cozy home. Everything was clean, it had all the necessities and more. AC worked great in this heat. Short walk to the beach and some good restaurants. Kroger supermarket close by. Nice neighbor Lupe who was so nice and patient taking a picture of the family who visited us. We certainly can refer this home for a wonderful stay.
This charming 1940's brick house in Galveston, was like coming home. Comfortable. Cozy. It is well-equipped with anything and everything you could possibly want or need.
There were cozy throws for the winter, and plenty of blankets and pillows galore to choose from to get the perfect one for a good night's sleep. The kitchen is great if you decide you want to cook rather than walk to the myriad restaurants close by. Even better, this home is a short walk to the seawall - that was a bigger bonus than I first realized.
I loved this little house. The location. The funky in-transition neighborhood (as is all Galveston which gives it its charm) and the ability to walk just about anywhere you want--other than downtown. And the owner was a dream to work with.
We stayed here for two months during the winter and it was a wonderful, comfortable warm place to stay. We would stay again in a heartbeat.
Great location and access to the Galveston area. The home was clean and easy to use.
Judy was great communicating with us and there wasn’t any surprises. The home was what we expected and we really enjoyed it. We would stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay at this home. It was so warm and inviting. Everything we needed was available at the house. Beds are comfortable and it was nice and quite. We didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back and hopefully stay there again soon. Thanks Judy!
Judy was amazing from the time we booked.. she sent info on where to find stores and other things that interested us.. she made sure we got checked in safely and when the door lock gave us trouble, she was on the phone with us giving us help.. she made sure we could be at peace knowing our things were safely locked in the house when we were away and she was available every minute if we needed anything...the house was amazing and we felt at home the moment we arrived!! She has been an all around amazing host and we will be back with her again soon!! Thank you Judy for the wonderful home and the amazing memories made!!!!
I really loved my getaway. There were just a couple things I wish were different: the location was close to beach but far if you're traveling alone and carrying/walking by yourself. Very victorian and a tad darker than i like but overall the experience was delightful and comfy. Enjoyed Judy's place and she went above and beyond making it great for me. :) I'd likely rebook another place that's smaller and closer to beach as I spent 1k for 4 days alone. Little pricier than preferred. Loved the home and ambiance however.
We really enjoyed the property. The Only Exception as you and I discussed before Judy was the handles in the shower in the front bathroom. Other than that the house exceeded our expectations and we would be excited to try another visit with you sometime next year. Thank you so much again for all your assistance. Have a blessed day.
Staying here was fun and great place for your family! We had 9 people (2 of them small children) and everyone had lots of space and enjoyed their stay!
When we arrived we had no issues getting into the house! The owner was available by phone or text at all time! The house was super cute and clean! We will be back for sure!
We truly enjoyed staying at this property. Our family of 10 slept comfortably. Leaving for a cruise the next day, the house was not far from the port and was tucked away in a quaint neighborhood. Look forward to staying again at this property the next time we cruise or come to Galveston for the beach. Thank you Judy for the ease of communication and fast response time!
First of all Judy Locke very accommodating & helpful. The house was very beautiful & tastefully decorated. When we walked in the house it was very clean, warm & inviting. I will definitely rent it again!
We arrived in a middle of a rain storm and it was so great to open the door of our home and see such a lovely place. the house was spotless and we had everything that we needed right there. Beds were comfortable and e all slept very well.
The location of the house was a perfect spot for what we had come to do and we really enjoyed sitting on the back porch enjoying our time together. neighborhood is nice and our neighbor was very friendly and very helpful.
We will definitely be staying at this location again.
it was my frst time booking ,the property manager guids me through all from the start to the end, so helpful.she details all available iitems n the house everthing extra.me and my family enjoyed it.i want to say thank you
We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable. Judy was very accessible.
We enjoyed our stay. Everything was as it was portrayed. Judy was very easy going and accessible. We had 6 adults, 2 infants and 1 seven year old with us. We had plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable. The beach was not a far walk and restaurants were very close. We were in town for a graduation so only in town for the weekend. Judy was great at letting us know the house was ready, so we could check in early if we wanted. She also let us know that there was no rush on checking out. We would recommend this property to others.
We have couple minor problems with the property. But overall, we enjoyed the stay. The host was quickly responding to our problems and questions and very helpful, providing helpful tips for a short stay. We definitely recommend this place.
The property itself is clean and comfortable and just a few short blocks to the beach. Those things were easy enough to gather from the posting. What I did not expect to find was literally everything we needed (short of groceries) was on site. Spices and tea in the kitchen, extra blankets and pillows in the closet, plenty of towels and wash cloths etc. etc. The neighbors were friendly and just two blocks walk I found a barber that gave me the best cut I have had in years!!

It is a great house...
What a great house. Number of things we liked but two specific things. First, the 'family' room was big so we spent most of our time enjoying the get-together in that room. Secondly, the three couples that stayed there, all had a nice, comfortable queen size bed to sleep in. Many properties do not have this. The drive way is large and can accommodate at least four vehicles. Close to the beach and seawall strip. And...Judy makes sure that everything goes well. Thanks...it was great.

About the host
Hosted by Judy Locke
Im a Nurse living in Massachusetts and while visiting my son and his family last year, fell in love with the 1940s brick homes on Galveston Island. We eventually decided to by one last fall.
Why they chose this property
The home is spacious and comfortable and close to everything in Galveston that people come to enjoy. The islanders are friendly, helpful, and generous to visitors. There's something to do for everyone from peaceful and relaxing to fun and adventurous.
What makes this property unique
I like the brick 40s style of the home and the cool breezes on the arched front porch. There's cool shelter on the front porch and afternoon sun on the back porch/deck
