Is not a bungalow nor house, it's a single wide

They first had this listed as a bungalow. Very misleading. It's a single wide. They of course didn't not answer me back when I told them their first listing was misleading. It felt like a small trailer park setting when we arrived. With another trailer empty on cinder blocks. We did not feel comfortable at all.

The lovelist I have ever stayed at !! By far the best !!

Our host has put so much care into her property and she makes you feel right at home with every comfort you could ask for. I cannot wait to return as soon as I can. An extra added bonus is that your host and her crew of helpers are the nicest people you will ever meet !! Yet, another bonus... is how wonderful the property is for dogs !!! Just amazing overall experience !! Thank you !!!!!!

Wonderful hosts; pleasant, peaceful and surprisingly affordable

We arrived late for our stay, and it was raining, and the hostess greeted us with an umbrella and gave us a tour of the immaculate home where we'd be staying. She had prepared a thoughtful meal for us so that we wouldn't have to venture out in an unfamiliar area after traveling all day. The home is clean, cozy, and has all the amenities that we need. The home is located in a tranquil rural setting. The hosts have been gracious and accommodating so much, that we decided to extend our stay. We would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for peaceful, modern amenities in a rural setting.

Beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. The host is a sweetheart.

We stayed in #3 house. The host Uta was so sweet, she has done a beautiful job of decorating and making you feel right at home. Such a joy talking to her and learning about her heritage. We will definitely be back again to stay.

It is a real pleasure living here. The property offers all the comforts of home. The landlord and his wife are wonderful people who know how to make their guests feel at home. I would more than recommend these homes for future guests. The homes are beautiful and well taken care of. It is very peacefull here and always feel safe living here in the woods of Windsor.

worst experience in my 72 years

No pictures or words tell you that the location is 3.2 miles off of the paved road. The 3.2 miles is a dirt road worst than the logging roads I worked with in the 60's. We paid for 42 days after 8 days there was a incident @ 2:45 A.M. with fourwheelers in the yard area. Being that we had NO cell service (only Verizon works ) we felt threaten for our safety and left. We had to drive 4 miles to get phone service, to tell the owner the heater was not working he came over looked at it said, " I never saw that code E7 before if it continues I will have to get someone to look at it and left. I got on-line and googled the manufacturer and fixed it. So we paid for 42 days stayed 8 , no refund said we could come back and finish our time WHY would we do that we left for fear of our safety why we go back? The owner and the booking company was absolutely no help, I don't expect this to be published!

Great place to stay!

Our first time using VRBO and we were impressed! The house was perfect for us and so clean. Owners were very nice and accommodating (they had the down filled blankets switched out like we had asked them too (due to my allergies) before we set foot in the house) Our first night they had left us some German fruit bread that was fantastic. The place was very clean and well equipped. Very well taken care of home and looked new. Would definitely stay there again the next time we are in the area. Thanks Bill & Ute! ~Dale and Anissa

Just as impressed on our second visit

This was our second time staying at the Ryan’s while competing at the combined driving competition in the state park nearby and we will definitely have this as our first choice in the future. The home is only about 10 minutes from the competition grounds and it was very easy to make a quick run to the park for night check, etc. Last year we stayed in #6017 and were very pleased with the accommodations - well designed, very well equipped in kitchen and throughout. We tend to cook in rather than eat out at restaurants and everything was there to make meal prep easy. This year due to scheduling changes, Bill moved us into #6020 right next door. This location had just been finished and we were the first guests. It is spacious with 10 ft. ceilings and just as well equipped as our rental of the previous year. Because we were the first to stay in this home, a few things needed to be sorted out (WiFi, for example). Bill responded immediately to any questions or concerns and problems were quickly resolved. He is also very accommodating and willing to do whatever was needed to make our stay enjoyable. Unit #6020 was decorated in a very individual style with a mixture of antiques and art objects that made the space very interesting while maintaining the up to date , clean feel of the stay at #6017. The soaker tub was amazing and the light fixtures added a fun flair. Once again Ute greeted us with a delicious meal for our first night. The parsnip soup was outstanding! We also appreciated the landscaping of these homes. Magnolia trees and shrubs lined the borders so even though the “park” appears to still be a work in process, it does not feel like you are driving into a construction site. Our thanks to Bill and Ute for creating this oasis in the middle of rural South Carolina.

Great Stay!

For the second time (Matthew, Irma), this has become our "hurricane hole"after fleeing from the coast. It's very pleasant, beautifully furnished, and pet friendly. The owners are very attentive, and Ms. Ryan even brought us evacuees a wonderful welcoming dinner! A great stay, and we would love to return - hopefully not under hurricane conditions :)

Will definitely return!

In an area with limited options, this was a diamond in the rough. Spotless, spacious and beautifully decorated, this met our needs in every way. The hosts delivered a light meal upon our arrival that was totally unexpected and a lovely touch (and delicious!). Will use the Ryan's again for our future travel to the Aiken area.

Perfect

This was my second stay at the property this year. It was perfect once again. Very convenient to the various horse venues and farms in the area. The full kitchen was great for preparing meals instead of relying on restaurants or fast food. The owners are very kind, responsive and a pleasure to work with.

Lovely home, very reasonable rates

Great rental located near many of the key equestrian facilities. The house is brand new and beautifully decorated. Has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Laundry, full kitchen with all cooking options and WiFi. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. Much better option than a hotel for extended stays. Will definitely book again.

Nice stay

Enjoyed our stay. Quiet, relaxed. Greeted first evening with owner bringing over a home cooked meal. Delicious! The house was very cleaned and nicely furnished. Looked to be fairly new. Owners are working on landscaping and adding other units. Kitchen could use a few more utensils for making meals. Overall nice stay. Went to state parks, hiked in Hitchcock Woods and ate at several restaurants in Aikens and Augusta. Would recommend.

A great getaway

We needed a place to hide from Hurricane Matthew, and found this hideaway in Windsor SC. It was a lucky find. It's a very pleasant two bedroom, two bath home. Modular, but very nicely finished and furnished. The owners have supplied just about everything except your toothbrushes! And, the owners are very pleasant folks and will greet you upon your arrival. The home is off the beaten path and very quiet, but is only a few miles from Aiken. It's also pet friendly- a big plus. We'd definitely return if passing through the area. - David and Susan

Made us feel at home.

My brother and I stayed here with our dogs after being evacuated from Hurricane Matthew. It was very late notice, but Bill was very quick to respond and made it effortless to book our trip and arrive with ease. Right away I was sent an email explaining how to get to the destination, with several different routes to take. We were given phone numbers in case we needed any further assistance. Although the exact address was not located on GPS (it's a new address) it was very easy to find the additional address, which was directly actoss the street. As we were driving in we weren't quite sure what we were in for, but as we pullled into the lot all of our worries disappeared. I can't remember the Bill''s wife's name, but she was awesome! So welcoming. She walked us through the unit and showed us where everything was. She explained where we would be able to walk the dogs and let them play as well as where we could find the nearest grocery store and restaurants. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for more. We were so disoriented with being evacuated from our home and we felt so comfortable for the few days we stayed. Anything and everything you might need is in the place. You wouldn't believe how well it's decorated and how comfortable everything is. And CLEAN!!!! Wifi was functional and cable worked great, with all movie channels included. I will happily come back anytime I need another home away from home. Thank you guys so much!!!!

Beautiful Home in the Woods!

Who knew that such a beautiful home would be tucked away in the woods 25 minutes outside of Aiken. Our GPS carried us to safely to the property where we were greeted by William who showed us around his beautifully decorated space and was nice enough to leave us with a few groceries that lasted us until we were able to make it to the market. Since we are not much of tv people we drove into Aiken one night for dinner which was nice for being social. Wonderful home for those passing through. We would certainly stay again!

Awesome place to stay!!

We spent 3 nights in the two bedroom home and loved it. It's a small but spacious home with a nice deck. The kitchen had all the tools we needed to make meals while we were there, we just had to bring the groceries. We met the owner when we got there and she was so nice and friendly, eager to point out all our home away from home had to offer. The wifi didn't work with then password they left for us but with a quick call to the manager, it was up and going. It's a little out in the middle of no where but it was very quiet and peaceful during our stay. We will definitely stay there again!

Very nicely appointed home.

My two boys, fiancée and I recently stayed at this property while attending a soccer tournament in Aiken. It was an absolute gem of a home, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and plenty of space for the four of us for a couple of days. We were also able to take our two dogs which was wonderful. The owners were very kind and welcoming, even providing some essentials in the fridge which was very thoughtful. We would return in a heart beat if we have a need to visit the area again. It's a little bit off the beaten path, but only 20 minutes from Aiken and a much nicer stay than a hotel!

About the host

Hosted by William E Ryan

Host profile image
After being raised in central Pennsylvania, my family relocated back to Wisconsin in 1957. I graduated from St Norbert College in 1961 and entered the service. After 7 years in the U.S. Army and meeting Ute in Germany in 1965 and a tour in Viet Nam in 1967, we settled in Green Bay in 1969 and raised our three children. My working career was in Trucking Management for companies in Green Bay. Ute and I moved to Windsor, SC. in 2005 with the intention of retiring.

Why they chose this property

After trying retirement for a few years, our interests drifted back to doing something more meaningful. In 2012, we purchased some land adjacent to our rural homestead and began developing Windsor Court. We built this house and several more like it and plan to build more. The vacation home we offer on VRBO is one of the homes we built and are building for short term and long term rental. This property is rural and private with luxurious accommodations. We're located eight miles from Aiken State Park which offers various outdoor activities. We're located 15 miles east of Aiken, SC., 35 miles from Augusta, Ga., 50 miles from Columbia, SC., 115 miles from Charleston, SC., 130 miles from Savannah, Ga., 150 miles from Charlotte, NC., and 175 miles from Atlanta, Ga.

What makes this property unique

Plenty of room for parking, biking and even riding. The rural setting offers miles and miles of dirt roads and trails. Several of our neighbors offer accommodations for the care and boarding of horses.
