Welcome to Don's Place, a charming cabin nestled creek-side at the base of Table Mountain in beautiful Wapiti, WY. This property is perfect for those traveling through Yellowstone that want to lodge and recreate in the privacy and serenity of the country. The cabin offers stunning views, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, laundry, and plenty of both indoor and outdoor space to kick back after a long day of sightseeing or hunting.

Versatile in it's utility, this cabin has something for everyone. There's space for 7 people and even horses, too! It offers a 500 square foot loft with it's own half bathroom, a newly renovated bathroom on the main floor, a cozy open living room, a beautiful stone fireplace, and an open concept kitchen, divided by a mahogany bar with stools for 7. There's a large front deck and second floor balcony with spectacular mountain views. For hunters there's adequate space for several horses, ATVs, and outdoor plumbing specifically installed to facilitate game processing.

20 miles east of the cabin is historic Cody, WY where you will find a wide variety of shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, fishing and rafting companies, and historic landmarks and attractions.

A tranquil spot

This is a wonderful cabin on a beautiful private property. The cabin was obviously built with love, and that is still tangible all these years later. The loft and deck are extremely nice and private from the rest of the house. The front deck is a great place to sit and look. The interior is comfortable and well equipped. Lots of information about the area too. And the windows and mirrors were clean! The only drawback for us was that we weren't able to stay longer. If at all possible, we'll return.

Just Right!

We just got back from our week stay at the cabin and absolutely loved it! It was just right for our family of 3 adults and 4 kids to spread out when we were there. It had everything we needed (1.5 bath; room fans; 2 porches; kitchen; washer dryer a plus!) and was still close enough to Cody for supplies before we launched our adventures to Yellowstone. Our hosts were very generous and easy to communicate with throughout the trip. The only feedback we had was to add more flatware to the kitchen (bowls/ utensils) but that is small beans in comparison to our overall experience! Highly recommend staying at Scott and MacKenzie's charming mountain cabin!

Yellowstone Vacay

This cabin was the perfect home away from home. Very comfortable and great to get back to after a long day at Yellowstone! Loved sitting on the porch and viewing the mountains and stars! The cabin is well stocked with spices and extras in case you forget anything!

Awesome location & amazing views

Check-in was a breeze. Cabin was very clean. Family of 6 & never felt cramped. Kitchen fully stocked including coffee, tea, spices & oils, most condiments, essentials, including 2 small coolers to use. The property has a stream in the back & you can hear it from the cabins open windows, very peaceful to listen too. The cabin is quiet & serene, the views are beautiful. We left the windows open during the night, highly suggested, the mountain air is so clean & cool during summer. 30 mins to east entrance of Yellowstone, driving through the beautiful Shoshone National Forest. No traffic from east entrance during morning & evening. 20 minutes to Cody, lots of things to do there. I did Walmart supercenter pickup on the way in @ Cody for our week of groceries. Any essentials you forgot can be picked up @ the Red Barn market at the beginning of the road, like ice cream! Kids loved it. We will stay again. Hosts were stellar. Best hosts we've had yet.

Scott and his wife were fantastic with communication. A storm had rolled through right before we got there. They were willing to give a full refund if we left. Thankfully the power was restored in short order and we were able to enjoy Don’s place. The views and the vibe were fantastic! Highly recommend.

Yellowstone Getaway

Such a nice cabin to spend an evening after a day in the Park. We only stayed one night but would consider it again as it's close to Yellowstone. The Cabin was great for our family of 7. Very clean and easy to use. Host communication was excellent, they kept us up to date on everything and responded quickly. The amenities provided were an added bonus, and the stargazing was amazing!

Yellowstone over the 4th

Great base camp for a trip over the 4th… split time between Cody for the rodeo and ventures into Yellowstone. This was the perfect location and served our needs comfortably!

Excellent Cody alternative

I wish we had spent more time at this cabin. Close to a lot of fun things. This is a cute, cozy cabin and the property is well maintained. There was plenty room for the two married couples and two additional children. I recommend this property.

This place was perfect for our visit to Yellowstone and Cody! The drive into Cody from there is absolutely beautiful. The cabin was perfect our family of 5. The creek in the backyard was so cool and we left our bedroom window open at night so we could hear it and coffee on the porch was relaxing with a beautiful view of the mountains. We moved to Cody, WY from Boston, MA in 2013 after a lifetime of desire for a quieter and more adventurous lifestyle. Wanting to live somewhere where every weekend was what we described as our dream vacation, we came upon this beautiful valley and it was love at first sight. Now that we have started a family and moved back to Cody proper we want to share our dream home in the mountains with guests traveling to this beautiful northwest corner of Wyoming for the same reasons we did.

What makes this property unique

Green Creek runs through the property adding to the serenity of the cabin. The sunsets viewed from the back of the property looking toward Yellowstone is a sight that is unmatched. There are scores of trail heads and fishing access points conveniently located from the cabin in all directions.
