Fantastic..!

Lovely Apartment on the top floor of the house, beautiful views, ideal for 2 people. The island is just beautiful, exactly what we wanted as a couple, very chilled and relaxed, the family were just fantastic and gave us plenty if privacy, but we're there if we needed anything,( had made us beautiful apple cake) would recommend this accommodation 100% ,just 5*.. sorry we had to leave.

Amazing Kolocep

The Kennedys from West Australia. 23/05/2017 to 08/06/2017 Ante and his family were really lovely hosts. We received some lovely home made cake, from Ante's wife. The appartment was exactly as portrayed. It was also in a great location, on Kolocep. Ante told us some history about the place and about how Kolocep was, for fishing, etc when he was growing up there. We loved staying on Kolocep, so peaceful. Swam everyday, Hiked all over the island and generally had a great time. Went into Dubrovnik, a few times but couldn't wait to return to Kolocep. Stayed for 2weeks and enjoyed every minute. Visited Lopud, next island over, which is a lovely island too. Thankyou Ante and family for having us Sandra&Graeme

Lovely Island - Apartment Could Be Better

We've just come back from a wonderful holiday on Kolocep Island. The island chain is probably the most unspoilt place we have been to - beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing. We found enough to do for the week we were there, walking, swimming and visiting Dubrovnik Old City as well as the other islands and we would definitely return. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, providing gorgeous cake from a family celebration. Also, my partner left his phone in the taxi. Ante's daughter arranged to pick it up and she brought the phone to the island the following day. The apartment is in the loft space at the top of the house and was spotlessly clean. There is a super king-size bed which is great but bear in mind the limited headroom which renders much of the space in the apartment unusable. We are not tall people and still banged our heads several times. We were able to use the large terraced area downstairs but this is shared with the two other apartments. Personally, I would make an opening in the end wall of the living room providing a private west facing balcony and this would bring a lot more light into the property. There would then be a means of escape in the event of a fire - there are currently only two small windows in the apartment overlooking the sheer drop to the water and rocks. The kitchen could be relocated too, at present there are no sockets and we had to boil the kettle on the floor in the living room. Because eating out is a little bit limited, we would have liked to have had some more facilities and equipment to prepare food ourselves.

Fantastic holidays in this beautiful place...

Being ourselves in the rental business in the south of France, we know we can be picky and have high expectations sometimes. And what a surprise to see that everything was perfect from the first to the last minute during this wonderful stay on Kolocep/Kalamota island. The location is absolutely stunning with beautiful views from the bedrooms/apartments. Very peaceful and ideal for a relaxing holiday. The island is so charming and peaceful, far from the touristy crowd of Dubrovnik but still very easy to reach by boat when you want to do sightseeing or more action. The house itself is beautiful, full of history with old stones walls, renovated with taste to add comfort and privacy, nice gardens. I should not speak so highly of this rental as I would like to keep it the way it is now, a small hidden gem but they do truly deserve it. A special mention to the very delicate owners, Ante, Nina and all the Svilokos's family working in harmony together. They made us feel truly welcome and at home right away. They were very attentive, helpful and so kind to us throughout our stay. It was very hard to leave and hope to be back soon. Thanks again for everything. Catherine and René from France

Paradise

On arriving on the island of Kolocep we were blown away by how beautiful and unspoilt the island is. Mena met us off the ferry and Ante took our bags by boat to the house. We stayed in the romantic apartment; it had all that you could need and lovely and cool, with fantastic views across the bay. Ante and his family made us feel most welcome and were always on hand without being intrusive. My husband and son both enjoy fishing, Ante took them fishing on his boat and put down wire traps in the sea, which we took great pleasure snorkelling out to check on. We had a great fish supper with what they caught. Our holiday was wonderful and the Svilokos family are lovely, caring people. We were there for 2 and a half weeks and it started to feel like home. It really is a beautiful place made even better with marvellous hosts. We were so sad to leave and hope we will be back soon. Thank you Svilokos family!!

An idyllic place to stay

We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and stayed here in August 2014. This was a delightful place to stay whilst visiting Dubrovnik. (There are 4 ferries a day and the journey is just 30 mins from Dubrovnik so check out the times and plan your travels). It was peaceful and idyllic with a few houses around the bay and no cars. We had intended to make several visits to Dubrovnik but couldn't tear ourselves away from the lovely island of kolocep. We swam for hours, hired canoes to canoe around the Island (highly recommended), walked, enjoyed the views from the terrace... We would thoroughly recommend a stay here. The owners are thoughtful and helpful; the apartment is exactly as described. Book early!

Sehr schönes Quartier in ruhiger Umgebung

Views to die for!

We have just spent 10 days at Villa Svilokos and can honestly say that everything from start to finish was just perfect! We had a really easy transfer from the airport using the Atlas shuttle bus to the port followed by ferry to Kolocep. We were met as promised by the lovely Nina who escorted us on the short walk to the apartment pointing out items of interest along the way. On arrival and after we had caught our breath from looking out of the windows at the spectacular views we noted that everything was exactly as described and spotlessly clean. We were made extremely welcome by Nina and the Svilokos family, nothing was too much trouble and Nina's home baking was a wonderful treat! Visiting Dubrovnik and the neighbouring islands is recommended and easily done. If you need to relax and return home happy and refreshed then this is the place for you.

What a wonderful place. The perfect peaceful break

Kolocep is a beautiful and peaceful island. The walks across the island are tranquil and undisturbed. The scenery is beautiful and authentic, rustic Croatia. The accommodation is perfectly placed and extremely comfortable. Nina and Josep's hospitality was warming and helped make the holiday special and memorable. Dubrovnik is a short ferry ride away. In a place as relaxing as Kolocep the ferry ride is a pleasurable experience an not at all a burden. It really does add character to the holiday. No cars on the island...bliss!

Perfect

This holiday was just bliss - all arrangements were made easily online and Ante could not have been more helpful . We took advantage of his suggested travel plans and so arrived by his boat on the island and our first impressions were of a beautiful island , Ante and his family then welcomed us to their apartment which had everything we could need . The photographs are a true reflection of the apartment and we used the outside living area for most of the day. We couldn't find any faults with the accommodation. Ante and his family then invited us to their home for a drink and welcoming croissants and we were able to find out all the information we needed for our stay. We explored the island ,swam from the beach and from the rocky outcrops and hired kayaks to paddle around the island. We visited Dubrovnik for the day and also spent an afternoon on Lopud the next island served by the ferry. We ate at the bars across the bay which were ok but nothing special but then had two wonderful meals at Villa Ruza - more expensive than average but worth every penny. We were a family of two parents and two sons aged 21 and 17 and all agreed this was the best holiday in the most relaxing place we had every experienced . It won't be everyone's cup of tea but for us it was ideal and now we have experienced Croatia we will definitely be back - we would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to get away from the package holiday and is prepared to try something a little different - this is a real treasure - thank you to Ante and family for making it so special

Welcoming and relaxing stay

Lovely apartment with fantastic views and sound of the sea. What really made the stay special was the very warm welcome from Ante and family. It was also a delight to sample their cooking and cake baking and have coffee with the family. Thank you to you all! Kolocep is beautiful and wonderfully peaceful. Its really worthwhile exploring the paths around the island in order to find tiny hidden coves with perfect swimming. I hope to come back and have only one small request - it would be great to have sun loungers on the spacious terrace for reading a book on a lazy afternoon. In all, a great place to relax and unwind. Just lovely!

The apartment was perfect for the two of us and was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. As per the photographs, the views from the terrace were stunning - clear blue sea on the back door step, a great view of the harbour with the mountains beyond providing a lovely back drop. There was a sandy beach about 200m away with pebbly beaches dotted around elsewhere. It was possible to walk ( steep at times) to the other side of the island (3km long) and we also borrowed bikes from the family for more exploring. There were a couple of bars at the harbour, one serving meals...there were two more restaurants on the island, one quite pricey but with beautiful views/sunsets, the other a more basic fish restaurant. The only hotel (by the sandy beach), served meals to non residents and it was possible to get a very reasonable 3 course dinner plus a drink for under £15.00 pp. Getting to Kolocep was very straight forward...Atlas bus from the airport which stopped at the Old Town of Dubrovnik before continuing to the port/bus station. (30 mins approx, 2nd stop) The ferry 'Postira' chugged out of the port about 5 times a day through the summer and cost less than £4.00 single. The ferry went on to the islands of Lopud and Sipan, both bigger than Kolocep and both worth a visit. Ante and his family were extemely hospitable, very friendly and suppportive. Ante took us on a trip round the island in his boat and helped with transport if the ferry times weren't good. They let us sample their local home cooking - cakes, jam, drinks etc and generally helped to make the holiday very memorable. If you are wanting to relax in the sunshine and don't have huge needs for entertainment and nightlife, this is the perfect place...We would go back!

Fantastic holiday

We had an absolutley lovely week of sunshine & relaxation. The apartment was all that we needed as it was so hot we were outside all the time. Fortunately we had airconditioning which was bliss and a welcome relief from the heat. The owners of the property were lovely and extremely welcoming. We were met at the ferry by the owners daughter and welcomed and then Ante came with his boat to help us with our luggage to take us across to the villa. Everything was lovely and we will certaily be visiting again. if you are just after a relaxing holiday with no stress or hassle and want to unwind this is the place to do it. A wanderful holiday in a stunnigly beautiful place. A thoroughly clean apaprtment, good facilities, sunloungers on the terrace would have given it 10/10.

Tranquil & Tremendous Time

My husband, mother and I really enjoyed the wonderful and relaxing environment provided by this location for our holiday in August 2011. Sometimes when you rent a property for a holiday the pictures do not match the reality but I can assure any prospective holiday maker on this occasion they do. The seafront apartment which overlooks the stunning bay of Donje Celo was tastefully furnished, well maintained, clean and comfortable. The apartment has an oversized balcony with table and chairs where guests can enjoy their meals whilst looking at the stunning views of the bay. However, a downside is the position of the bathroom which is en-suite and for this reason I would recommend 2 adults as opposed to 4 renting the property. Kolocep is a beautiful island but it is not the place to go if you are looking for action packed adventure or lots of bars & restaurants. The island is straightforward to travel to and its location makes for an easy day trip to explore Dubrovnik and the islands of Lopud and Sipan. Ante (the owner) and his family were extremely warm and helpful with any enquiries or requests. I would highly recommend this apartment to my family and friends.

Unforgettable week in calmness and beaty!

First of all very kind and warm host family! We were pleasantly surprised to meet such an attentive, responsive, punctual, always ready to help and sincerely interested in any ask people. Very comfortable and homelike accommodation, always clear. The apartment has all kind of necessary features. In addition from the room window there is outstanding panoramic view to the sea that is possible to reach by the hand. Super relaxing atmosphere especially sound of the sea in night silence. Light morning and evening coolness with unique mix of nature aromas like pine, lavender, oleander and sea. Peace and privacy everywhere. In hot midday it’s easy to have a rest in a cool shadow of olive trees in one of a numerous nearby cafes and restaurants. Or if you like it’s also possible to have dinner in a nearby restaurant of the only one hotel in an island. Air conditioner and a kitchen in apartment make possible to prepare food yourselves and to try special local food flavor. You can easily buy fresh vegetables and fruits from local farmers. Meeting you hosts prepare for you tasty breakfast and homemade pastries. To the end of our stay we felt pity to leave this beautiful island and hospitable family. With regular attention our hosts took part in all details of our departure to make it pleasant and easy and sincerely invited us to the family table. And finally we were very touched by present from the hand of hosts – a nice bouquet of mountain lavender! The only week of pleasant rest and a noumerous priceless impressions and memories. Next time we would be happy to return there again, it’s a best place! Dear Ante, thank you and your family so much for that unforgettable rest!
