Lovely stay but safety issues

Lovely well presented cottage but the stairs are a safety hazard . Wouldn’t recommend if mobility issues, young children or elderly.

Thornham Cottage Break

Cottage ok, be careful of low entrance door if taller than 5 feet. Bed not very comfortable you can bounce your partner out if you turn over to quickly. Parking an issue one space per cottage. Argument with neighbouring guests who were told by the owners that there was room for two cars. Don’t bother trying to get the owner to sort out there mess they did nothing to resolve the situation. Apart from the cottage good time was had by all

Stanley’s trip to the sea

Great cottage in a great location... Recently decorated so felt fresh. Stairs are very steep so Stan the greyhound was unable to get upstairs which he wasn’t happy about. Could hear snoring through wall from cottage next door (no.4) so had trouble sleeping...

Not value for money

We booked a pre Christmas getaway and looked forward to a relaxing week walking and snuggled in the local pubs. Upon arrival it was dark and there was no light outside the cottage which would have been useful to help us to negotiate our way along the path and its steps and also locating the key to the cottage proved difficult in the dark. Once inside, w found the cottage to be smaller than expected but it was pleasantly furbished and cosy. The main downside to our stay however was the traffic from the road. whilst Thornham is a super village, the road itself through Thornham is incredibly busy and in particular from 5.00 a.m. onwards you get large vehicles on their early morning delivery runs making you feel as though you are sleeping on the M25. The cottage description does state that this is a tucked away property, and it is third cottage in from the gable end to the road. We have no issues with Norfolk Hideaways who were sympathetic to our feedback and were able to move us to another property nearby, and we would stay in Thornham again but in a property away from the main road through Thornham.

Nice half-term stay

We largely enjoyed our stay at Dolphin Cottage over October half-term, especially considering how late we booked it! There were a few things we felt could be improved: 1) The quality of the wi-fi was terrible. And by terrible I mean that I couldn't stream something on my laptop and was left streaming it over my weak 3G mobile signal. A couple nights we tried to use the NowTV to watch a program and it kept freezing... basically the TV was only marginally useful as a result of the poor wi-fi. The signal I received from the Thornham Deli across the road was nearly as useful 2) The bed in the master bed was quite uncomfortable. Very springy and noisy. We didn't have very good sleep as a result 3) The instructions on parking could have been clearer and the gate wasn't clearly marked for the actual cottage. It made finding the cottage on the first night a bit difficult as it was already dark Overall we did enjoy our stay. We found the cottage close to expectations. If we would change one thing it would hands down be the internet quality.

Nice place, but too small for 4

This is a very small cottage for a family of 4 and a dog, particularly with regard to the cooking/dining area which is extremely small and under-equipped - no baking tray, no grater, no wooden spoons, no decent sized collender, etc. We really struggled to all sit round the table to eat. The staircase will also be quite a challenge for some. We also struggled with the TV noise from the cottage next door. I don't think the volume was particularly loud, but it came through the walls all day, all evening and into the night, keeping me awake of a couple of occasions. On the plus side, the cottage was nicely decorated, with a lovely garden ( which does need to be made secure for dogs), and the location, aside from the busy road, was good. I loved the stretch of coastal path.
