About this property

The oak house

Newly renovated villa, completely surrounded by greenery and surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. It is ideal for those who want to disconnect from metropolitan life to spend relaxing days in a timeless place at the foot of Etna, created by the perfect symbiosis between nature and history.
It develops on two levels: on the ground floor there is the living area with kitchen, wood stove, fireplace and sofa bed, while on the upper floor there is a double bedroom and a bathroom. Both rooms have independent access and are connected by a multi-level terrace, on which you can have lunch, sunbathe or simply relax enjoying the quiet and tranquility of the context.

cute little house

The photos on VRBO very accurately describe this nice little one bedroom/one bathroom house. There is a television now, which is not in the pictures. It was very clean when we arrived, and hopefully we left it in the same manner. The host did not meet us, but gave us information on how to access the home, which was easy. The host was readily available via WhatsApp. We really prefer in person interaction with our hosts as there are always little quirks that are easier to manage with a demonstration, but that is just our personal preference. The water was hot and water pressure was good. You will need to bring coffee and personal items (shampoo, etc) with you as none are provided. The home is a little isolated. Not rural as it is only about a 5 minute drive to lots of restaurants and stores. But, those five minutes are partially on a very narrow one lane private road leading to the house. It is not a difficult drive, but you do have to be cautious. The turn into the property is very tight and would not accommodate a large car. We ended up parking outside the gate to the house. It is not horrible, just a little inconvenient. We ended up turning around in the open field right behind the house. The living area is plenty big enough, but could use an another comfortable chair to sit in. The deck and yard look wonderful, but it rained the entire time we were there, so we didn't get to really experience them. Randazzo is a cute little town, and fun to explore. The drive to exploring Mt Etna is about 45 minutes, but very pleasant. My overall impression is that this is a nice home to stay for a couple of days. Longer if you want a place to just hang out and really relax for awhile. Because of the access, walking to restaurants and stores is not really a valid option. But, other than that, we enjoyed a nice stay in a comfy little home.
