About this property

Cosy, three-bed short walk from Studland's beaches

This property provides a perfect holiday location for young families, keen walkers, and water-sport enthusiasts. Ideally located with only a short walk to Studland's beautiful beaches, heathlands and the lovely Pig-on-the-Beach restaurant. The cottage sleeps 5 adults, or 6 if travelling with children.

Studland's gorgeous sandy beaches offer calm seas, water sports and the hiring of equipment, with dreamy views that stretch from Old Harry Rocks to the Isle of Wight. The property is surrounded by National Trust land offering walks to Godlingston Heath's Agglestone Rock, Old Harry Rocks, and the Studland Nature Reserve. The local village shop is 200m away with fresh local produce, great wine/beer selection and a post office.

There is a charming wood stove for those colder evenings and a wonderful garden to the front and back of the property offering further family enjoyment. There is a shed for locking up bikes/water sport equipment.

Perfect location
I stayed here for 3 nights with my cousin. Great location easy walk to beaches and pubs. So quiet and peaceful with almost no traffic. Footpath onto heathland opposite was great for quick dog walks first thing in the morning.House well equipped and very clean. 2 bathrooms a real bonus.Property had a really homely feel. Sitting room could have been quite small/cosy for more than 3/4 people.

Lovely house in a quiet location
Cosy and well thought out property. The garden was also lovely. Having two bathrooms also helped when two sets of adults are staying. Good communication from the owner and everything you would need for a comfortable stay is supplied.

Great for walkers
Well equipped, comfortable property, ideal for our group of 4 adults. Great location for visiting Swanage and the Studland peninsular. Difficult to control the temperature in the shower room and woodburner didn't draw well but otherwise an excellent property.

Perfect beach holiday
The house was perfect for us, our daughter, grandchildren and dogs. The garden was sunny all day long and fully enclosed. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. The children loved the park opposite the house. Studland is a great location for beaches and exploring the Purbecks.

Perfectly located house for small children
The cottage is lovely inside and spotlessly clean. Everything you need is provided and the owner was very easy to contact and left details of heating etc. The grandchildren loved the garden and the bunk beds too. Just a short walk to South beach and a good little shop and popular pub with great sea views.

A great place in one of our favourite locations. Felt at home straight away - cosy and comfy. Made use of the log burner, cooked a Sunday roast and loads of walks on the beach and headland.

The house is in a great location, well-equipped and warm. The very well-stocked village shop is a 5 minute walk, the pub and beach 5-10 minutes further. A lovely stay!

Good holiday but some reservations.
Liked the house but a few things as follows:- 1. The stair railing should extend to the top of the staircase, currently difficult for old or infirm.. 2.The 1st floor WC very slow to fill and doesn't always clear the pan and was a real nuisance. 3. the 1st floor washbasin (excellent in itself) requires taps to be rewashered, reseated or replaced if necessary. Services - We had a problem using the oven when the timer apparently locked off. No instructions re the cooker in the Welcome Pack and only resolved after receiving advice by telephone. Had considerable difficulty reaching the Landlady on telephone and initially she was unable to help us. The hot water supply failed and in fact the last two days of our stay we had no hot water. It came on again on the morning we left. We raised this with Landlady when it first occurred but she never followed up to see if problem was resolved. This appears to be an electrical timer fault. In view of the above I consider an appropriate refund should be made and it should be taken on board that the Landlady should be available to handle problems or have someone else on call. We did not enter any of these comments in the visitor book as they would sound unfairly negative.

We have really enjoyed our stay at "Woodside" and felt immediately at home as soon as we walked in. The place is small but still very functional, well equipped and benefits from big front and back gardens. The owner was also very quick at supplying items that were missing. Will definitely recommend

Property is lovely 2 good size double bedrooms, good size single with bunks. Great living space. Plenty of parking. Sat in a great location to access Studland beaches, short walk to South and Middle Beach both have good cafes. Old Harry Rocks. Bankes Arms and Pig on the Beach for food and drink again close by. Short walk to bus stop for service running between Swanage and Bournemouth via ferry, great not to have to use the car! Would recommend!

My family and I have loved Studland from our first visit and have been every year since. We just love the coast line and gentle waters that allow for a relaxing time for all. My husband grew up on the east coast of South Africa and desperately wanted to find a place in the UK that offered the same. Studland does this with ease as it offers sandy beaches that allow for lovely long walks, safe swimming and rock pools for exploring. We are an outdoors family that enjoy getting out - whether that be on our bikes, a hike or simply enjoying a day on the beach. Convenience is a must for a family with young children and we certainly find Studland and Swanage offer the perfect mix. There are great pubs close to the house and a number of lovely restaurants in nearby Swanage.

Why they chose this property

Location is fantastic with the beach only a short stroll away. We also have the heath walk that literally starts across the road. It is very quiet and tranquil and offers a home from home. One of our favourite things is enjoying the log fire in the evenings. The property has the benefit of a secure rear garden and a lovely front garden. We feel like we are in a different world whenever we stay and just love being here.

What makes this property unique

Our children think that South Beach (a very short walk away - even with said children!) is the greatest ever with all the beach toys they keep for children there.

With the National Trust owning most of the land around Studland, walkers and nature lovers are spoilt with long, sandy beaches, a forest full of deer and the far-stretching views of the heath.
