Fantastic place!!
Lovely stay here, everything we needed for 6 adults and 2 children. Very secluded and peaceful but close enough for a quick trip to the beach and shops. Amazing communication with Rebecca, the owner who was lovely and very helpful. Will hopefully be visiting again very soon.

Lovely situation
Unfortunately the Stables had not been cleaned too rigously - there were cobwebs and the windows could have done with a clean. Otherwise, the Stables was fine and had all the amenities we needed.

A lovely spot to get away from it all
We have stayed at the Stoneleigh Knowle estate on a number of occasions now and at The Stables on this last holiday for the first time. It is comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Typically of the Estate owners, great attention to detail has been given to comfort and practicality. There is a large table for family meals, comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen, ample drying space in the covered open barn right next to the property. Our children made plenty of use of the play fort too.
The farm and wood land is open for exploration. We happened across a badger within 10 feet of us on one dusk walk. The beaches are easily accessible by car too. Crackington Haven is, perhaps, our favourite and we highly recommend the farm shop at Boscastle too.
All in all, Stoneleigh Knowle is a lovely spot for a break of any duration, with or without children.

Half-Term adventure
My family and I stayed at the Stables Cottage in February half-term for 4 nights. My kids are 6 years old and 18 months and we brought our bikes for exploring the area.
The cottage itself was very cosy and comfortable. Very tastefully decorated and furnished with everything we needed including a high chair and travel cot. The beds and bedding were lovely and so comfortable. we had the use of a utility room as well which was very useful, especially the book,DVD and toy library!
The owner and manager Rebecca was extremely helpful and communicative and gave use lots of tips for things to do, where to eat etc. we didn't have time to do it all but here is what we did. We ate at the Weir - a very child friendly restaurant on the nearby A road. It has a playground and wildlife park. it is also on one of the cycling trails so one day we rode from the Weir and into Bude. Bear in mind we had to keep the cycling at our 6 year old's level! On a rainy day we went to the Bude Aquatic centre which has a wave machine and flume slide. Great fun!
We ate at Rosies cafe - on the beach in Bude, which has a lovely beachy feel and a roaring fire in Feb. Great again for the kids. The Bay View Inn was great for food and has views over Widemouth Bay and Elements was great for takeaway Pizza. We would have eaten there if we had had time. A sunny day was spent driving to Padstow (50 mins) where we parked next to the Padstow bike hire,Rick Steins fish and rode off along the Camel trail. 5 miles takes you to Wadebridge where you can turn around and head back for fish and chips or carry on. Luckily there was another bike shop in Wadebridge as my son got a puncture.
Going back to the cottage, the buildings are set around an area with chairs and we imagined that this would also be a great place to rent with friends and,or a family group.
We highly recommend the Stables and Rebecca and hope to be back one day soon as there is so much we didn't have time to do. Read the visitors book in the cottage for more ideas. Thanks Rebecca!
