About this property

Mariners - a beach house that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Mariners Beach House is situated on Turnberry Drive, close to the beach, tennis court, playground and village centre, making it an ideal base.

Enter through the side door into the hallway with coat storage. To your left are the master bedroom with kingsize bed, TV, clothes storage and ensuite shower room, and the second bedroom with two small (2ft6) single beds which can be made as another kingsize on request. There is also another TV, storage, and another shower room with jack-and-jill doors from the hallway too.

To the right is the fully-equipped open-plan kitchen, dining table for 4, and lounge with smart TV, sofa, armchair, and bifold doors to the deck with seating, ideal for alfresco dining or sitting out whilst the children play outside.

We leave games, DVDs etc for our guests to use. The log burner makes this beach house warm and cosy for breaks all year round.

Please note the path sleepers can be uneven and slippery when wet and therefore this property may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Excellent stay at the Mariners

This was our third visit to the Mariners and once more it did not disappoint us. The venue was perfect for access to many beautiful walks and places to visit. The Mariners was very comfortable and provided everything we needed.

Great lodge and great stay.

The property was great, it was well cleaned, close to the beach entrance/exit but away from the main route there so felt more private. It was very close to other houses but luckily for us these weren’t occupied so was a very private stay. The lodge does sleep four but the living area only realistically seated three comfortably. The lodge was well equipped and would recommend staying.

Our 5thStay

We keep booking the accommodation and recommend it to our friends and colleagues. We have stayed in the winter and Summer months. Only had the pleasure of using the log fire once. Definitely a great place to holiday.

Short break in Mariners

Had a great stay at the mariners, well positioned for the beach, clean & vey comfortable. A few logs would have been nice but plenty warm enough with the heating. Communications with thebaydirect was brilliant. Many thanks

Beautiful

Had the best 4 nights stay in the Mariners. Have stayed here loads and I love it. There is everything you could possibly need. Clean & very comfortable. Slept well in the kingsize bed. My dog Skye loves it here. She loves laying on the decking & snoozing. My only disappointment is the rugs have gone, which makes it a bit tough for an elderly dog who's a bit wobbly. Will be back again.

A great stay at the Mariners

We had a great long weekend. The lodge was in a perfect location for us as the play area is right outside which the kids loved but you feel tucked away a little. It gets the sun on the patio area till late so it was great to be able to sit out. It's a very welcoming lodge, clean, everything feels new still and it has lovely decor. It's got everything you could need plus a few added touches to make your stay easier. The shop/leisure area is within a few minutes walk and it's very close to the beach path. The beach itself is stunning, our dog just loved running around on the expanse of it. We were incredibly lucky on our last morning to see dolphins jumping out of the water as we were walking down the beach path! We can't wait to come back to The Bay and would definitely choose to stay at the Mariners.

Our Stay

The property is absolutely beautiful and in a very good location, it was extremely clean and had everything we needed. To give some constructive criticism I would say a better duvet is needed in the main bedroom as it was to thin and not warm enough for in the night. Also the main bedroom skydome needs a blind on it as it was getting light from 4.30am flooding into the bedroom. Also the instruction manual needs updating with how to turn the heating up. Other than that I could not fault the property. The Bay itself is a beautiful place but they could do with getting on top of the maintenance in the Amusements Centre has we lost a fair few quids on machines that weren't working and the change machines were never working, the bar staff advised they had received a few complaints but it was out of their control. The swimming pool is lovely and the park is lovely and only about a 5 minute walk to the beach. We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Blue anchor break

The property met all of our expectations, it is spacious, clean, great decor, and homely, I loved the bifold doors open, to give fresh air and space. The location was perfect for us, a short walk to the beach. I would have no hesitation bookIng again.

A great location and gorgeous accommodation

Straight forward, no fuss booking, easy communication with booking manager. Lively accommodation, near the childrens park and 15 min walk to the sea front . Lovely sea side themed accommodation, everything we needed, clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything, even temporary dog tags! We will be going back.

September Break

We had excellent communication with the letting agent. Any queries I had before, during and after our stay had a swift response. The property was clean and set up as requested. Very handy to pop to the local Pub close but not too close. We had reasonable weather and it was very pleasant to sit out on the deck both during the day and in the evening. We would certainly consider returning.

Host profile image
We are Charlotte and Matthew Killeya from Sheffield.

We have always enjoyed holidaying in North Yorkshire, so much so that in 2016 we decided to buy our own Nikki Beach house at The Bay.

The Beach House is called ‘Mariners’ as Charlotte’s Grandma used to visit Filey every summer with Charlotte’s mum. They used to stay in a holiday cottage on Mariners Terrace – a little street in the centre of Filey. Filey continues to be a special place for our family; it has beautiful beaches, delicious fish and chips and is close to so many local attractions – what more could you ask for?

We are busy working people, and we have asked our friend Paula to manage bookings for us, as she has experience from managing her own two properties at The Bay, also listed on OwnersDirect/Home Away.

Why they chose this property

Mariners Beach House is ideally situated on the holiday village - close to the beach and the village centre, whilst being in a private quiet location.

What makes this property unique

We welcome your dog into our home, as we know that they are important members of your family. Our dog, Josie loves a walk along the beach and then falling asleep by the fire.

We hope that you enjoy your stay
