Just perfect!
Every thing was just perfect! We were all very confortable, had everything we needed. Being so close to the sea was a major plus.
We will come back for sure!
The Boathouse second floor apartment has views of the ocean on one side and a pond where we watched a great blue fish for its breakfast. Fortune's Rocks Beach is great for birding, walking, cold water swimming, and rock collecting. We saw some folks surfing, and understand that it's a good site when the waves are up.
The apartment was roomy, with a small balcony where we enjoyed breakfast and sea breezes.
In addition to long beach walks, the host left many suggestions for other excursions; we liked the trails at Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm. Next time, we'll try the Rachel Carson Nature Preserve and kayaking at Biddeford Pool.
We had the most wonderful week at this sweet property. It’s perfectly rustic and cozy but still a really nice amount of space with large bedrooms. It was very clean, there were fully made beds, and stacks upon stacks of clean towels. We loved grilling fresh fish each night and we appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. Our toddler loved exploring the tide pools on this beach and playing in the ‘beach river’. And we enjoyed coffees and wine on the deck with the most incredible view. We’ve been to beaches all over the world and this may just have topped them all. We can’t wait to come back!!
We had a great week at this property. The location is beautiful. The property was clean and everything our family needed for a great summer vacation week at the beach in Maine.
We loved the location and the house. Both described perfectly. We hated to leave but we will be back for sure. I would recommend to all. Thank you for a great vacation !!!
The location was awesome, and with a few tweaks the property would be too.
The first issue we had was that we had to search for bed linens and towels. There were 3 of us, and only 2 towels. The linens were in a bin in one of the closets, and the towels were in the common area off the foyer. Right now, with Covid 19, it just didn't feel right to have to search like that.
The other suggestion that I would make is to rework the bathroom areas. At first I thought having a separate shower room would be better, but in this case it is just too narrow. One thing that would help a lot would be to install a hand held shower head, and maybe a few more hooks and towel rods.
Overall, it was cute and comfortable, and did I mention the great location! It was wonderful sitting on the porch watching the surfers, and listening to the waves.
Great view of the ocean from the second floor deck and just steps away from the beach. Not a crowded tourist area. Everything we needed was provided (kitchen ware, towels). We wanted a quaint cottage on the beach experience and we got it. We will be back.

Maine Beach Stay
I love this area and the house facing the ocean was a real treat. It's an old beach house but utterly charming. I was provided bed linens, plenty of bath towels and even beach towels. The kitchen was well equipped although I didn't do any cooking. Being an old house with old wood floors footsteps were louder than normal but all of the occupants were considerate and the house was quiet by 10 pm. Most of the windows in my particular apartment faced the parking lot but the porch and front window faced the ocean so I was happy.
I would not hesitate to rent this spot again.
