Private villa with a wonderful view over Lucca and the surroundings. Good restaurant within a short distance.

This charming, completely detached country house has the most gorgeous location, situated a little way up a hill with a spectacular view of the Tuscan countryside with vineyards, olive trees, characteristic stone houses and Lucca itself and the intact city wall in the background. It is most captivating.
Because of its unspoiled landscape, the area Pieve Santo Stefano, is one of the most desirable areas around Lucca. Here one feels at peace with nature yet one is close to the city with all its modern conveniences. Additionally there is a good country inn within short distance.

Agli Orti belongs to a manor house dating from the 15th century located 50 meters up the opposite hill, across a country road. This villa is surrounded by a beautiful and well maintained garden as well as a fantastic view.
Here, in the middle of the park is a recessed round swimming pool with a diameters of 10 mt, a depth of 1,40 mt. There is a poolside area with table and chairs. The pool is shared with the owner. Children in or around the pool must be under adult supervision at all times.

The house has two floors:
The main floor has a large, well-lit living room with a characteristic stove. It also has a large bay window that faces the panoramic view and a tv. The characteristic brick kitchen is of good quality and has an oven, refrigerator, freezer, grill, micro, toaster, Italian moka, kettle and dishwasher. In a small storage room is the washing machine. Bathroom with shower.
On the second floor is a double bedroom with bathroom en-suite (shower), two twin bedrooms with a shared bathroom with shower and hairdryer. The view from the second floor is even more impressive!
The house is furnished in Tuscan style with terracotta floors and beamed ceilings.
In front of the house there is a covered area with deck furniture and barbecue. From here there is a view towards the valley and Lucca.

Internet wifi, private parking inside the property. Baby bed and high chair available.

Other: a good restaurant within 1,7 km - supermarket and other small shops in the village of S. Alessio ca. 6 km.

A fantastically lovely holiday house. Nicely located up in the mountains with a view over Lucca. Everything worked and we really enjoyed our holiday here. The host is nice and friendly. We can definitely recommend this place.

We couldnt imagine a better place to stay for our trip to Toscany! There is this really special vibe in the house and in the garden that makes you feel like home. We enjoyed breakfasts on the terrace with an amazing view, chilling by the swimming pool and in the evening drinking wine while listening to birds and other animals around. Definitely recommended! Everything was 100 % from start to end
We are extremely happy about the week in Lucca and at AGLI ORTI. We have been in Toscana once before with services from Danitalia and just as last time everything was 100 % from start to end. Lucca was very nice and AGLI ORTI included everything we could wish for. Beautiful house and surroundings. The house was positioned relatively high up in the mountains, which meant great view over Lucca. We didn't miss anything. The communication with Elisabeth before and after booking the trip was 100 % perfect. We had some difficulties to do final payment via the digital link we got, but this was finally handled and sorted out. We will gladly use Danitalia again and put in a positive word for you when talking to friends interested in going to Italy. Daniel

Das Haus hat eine wunderschöne Lage
Das Haus hat eine wunderschöne Lage mit einem unbeschreiblich schönen Ausblick. Man kann stundenlang auf der Terrasse sitzen und einfach nur genießen. Die Raumaufteilung ist großzügig und sinnvoll. Wir waren absolut zufrieden und würden das Haus uneingeschrämkt empfehlen. Es ist den Preis wert.

Les chambres sont spacieuses, la pièce principale très confortable et la cuisine géniale pour ceux qui aiment cuisiner. Nous sommes venus à Noël, le seul regret est que les journées étaient trop courtes. Il nous faudra revenir au printemps ou en été pour vraiment apprécier la lumière et faire des belles balades autour de la maison. Autre point positif, la ville de Lucca est vraiment très agréable. Posto fantastico e isolato dalla città
Eravamo 6 ragazzi e abbiamo soggiornato nella villa nel periodo di capodanno. Auto check in allarrivo, seguito subito dallarrivo dalla proprietaria che ci ha spiegato perfettamente tutti gli aspetti della casa. Posto fantastico e isolato dalla città, che è comunque raggiungibile con 10/15 min di macchina. Intorno sono presenti diversi vigneti e ulivi che rinfrescano laria e spargono unodore di fiori che pervade laria fin dal mattino. Allinterno dellappoggio cè tutto il necessario sia per la cucina che per i letti completi di tutte le coperte leggere e più pesanti. Il riscaldamento è funzionale ma noi abbiamo preferito sfruttare a pieno il fantastico camino nella sala, da dove si può godere di una vista fantastica della città e nel contempo ascoltare il crepitio del fuoco. Legna gentilissimamente resa disponibile dallhost, la quale è super disponibile e tempestiva nelle richieste. Sebbene fosse inverno e non abbiamo utilizzato a pieno tutte le strutture della casa (piscina, barbecue allaperto con tutto il giardino e tavolo esterno) abbiamo passato un fantastico soggiorno e non immaginiamo cosa possa essere questa location in un periodo estivo. Elisabeth war sehr nett und hatte viele Tipps
Das Haus liegt sehr schön auf einem Hügel mit tollem Blick ins Tal. Es bietet ausreichend Platz für 4 Personen und hat alles was man für einen Aufenthalt braucht. Toll war der große Pool, auch der Zugang über die Treppe war einfach und kein Problem. Wir hatten leider Probleme mit Moskitos und der Fliegenschutz war an einigen Fenstern defekt. Elisabeth war sehr nett und hatte viele Tipps was wir machen können, ebenso wie Tipps zum essen gehen. Tina

Delightful House in the Hills
This property is as it appears in the pictures. Situated about 8 km out of Lucca up narrow twisting roads.The first drive there is a little startling, but you get used to it amazingly quickly. The four adults, two children loved the location,the breeze, the peace, the calm,the space in the living room, dining room area, the pool, and the fireflies.. we adored the outside patio and ate every meal there overlooking grapes, olive trees and Lucca in the distance. There is no A.C whichwas not a problem for us in May. You need a car to stay here. There was, sadly, an ant infestation when we were there, which, I hope, has been dealt with.For North American visitors:note there is no coffee, dishwasher or laundry soap, to get you going,and no dish clothes or extra toilet paper. The host sends good instructions how to find the property, but we found the best way was to enter Villa Santo Stefano into the GPS, and the property is about 300 metres past it on the right.

Das Haus ist im typischen Toskana Styl eingerichtet. Unterscheiden tut sich dieses Objet von den anderen in vergleichbarer Preislage in der Liebe zum Detail was dem Ganzen noch eine härzige und liebliche Ambiente vermittelt. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen und verweilen, speziell auch dann, wenn das Wetter seiner Laune trotzt. Die Eigentümer wohnen direkt oberhalb Agli Orti. Wenn man Hilfe oder Unterstützung benötigte, waren sie zur Stelle. Wichtig; man hatte nie das Gefühl, das man unter Beobachtung steht! Das Haus befindet sich auf einem typischen toskanischen Hügel, sehr abgelegen und ruhig. Etwas nachteilig, wenn man Ausflüge machen will, man ist zwingend auf ein Auto angewiesen. Aber im Grossen und Ganzen, sehr empfehlenswert.

Although villa and pool are not shown together we assumed they would be close and not in garden of house above. This was a little disappointing at first but adapted. We think this should be stated in description. A lovely villa with beautiful views but the two trees beside need to go and bushes kept lower so full view can be completely enjoyed.

Beautiful country house
Very clean and beautiful country house with a nice view over Lucca. The interior is country style and blends very well into the style of the villa. The house has a terrace to sit on for drinks, dinner or BBQ. The pool, however, is a few steps up the hill as it belongs to the main house of the owners. Sharing is no big deal though as the pool and garden are quite big and the owners are very friendly. The location is quite remote and getting to the house requires a bit of a drive over narrow and winding roads. To get to restaurants thus almost always requires driving by car (there is one restaurant about 1.5 km away that could be reached by foot). A bit of a downside is that there are burglars in the region and valuables should better not be left in the house when being away during the day. During our stay we did not have any trouble, though. We would recommend the villa.

Bastante bien,el propietario debería de hacer un mapa de como llegar y no una descripción haciendo referencia a lugares,muy confuso.Si no tomas el camino correcto,llegas por un camino muy estrecho.El lugar es muy tranquilo y con vistas muy bellas.Queda muy cerca de Lucca, una ciudad bella, en donde hay mucho que ver y hacer.Es una casa de la campiña muy sencilla,sin lujos.

Wir waren mit 4 Personen und 1 Baby zu Gast in diesem schönen, rustikalen Landhaus. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und idyllisch gelegen. Der Pool ist eine Augenweide! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und die Umgebung sowie Lucca erkundet. Ein eigenes Auto ist jedoch ein absolutes Muss :-)

Schöne Tage im bergigen Hinterland von Lucca
Wir waren im Dezember /Januar hier und haben schöne Tage verbracht. Das Haus liegt etwa 15 Minuten von Lucca entfernt inmitten eines Olivenhains mit schöner Aussicht. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und hell. Es kann auch im Winter empfohlen werden, da es ausreichend Heizkörper hat und einen Kamin, sodass es nie zu kalt wurde.

Enchanting Tuscan Farmhouse Villa
We and two friends spent five wonderful days and nights at this property. Ideally located close to Lucca town, but aways enough for total privacy. Sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside (complete with picture-postcard-perfect vineyards and olive trees) made the stay even more enjoyable. We even cooked two nights we were there and ate outdoors. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Lovely stay!
This home is homey and comfortable and in a beautiful location. Just 9 minutes from Lucca you quickly climb up into the hills into a gorgeous wine and olive region. The house is surrounded by olive trees and we were fortunate enough to be there during harvest. What a treat. Local wine and olive oil is available locally. The verandah/porch on the front of the house has a very serene and beautiful view. We stayed for a week and used this house as a base to explore Lucca, Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terre. You will need a hire car to get to the house and surrounding cities and sights. We had 3 children with us (2teenagers) Wifi was good and with 3 complete bathrooms it made our stay very comfortable. We shopped and cooked many meals and ate al fresco. Beds were comfortable and the house was spotlessly clean and the owner, Barbara was easy to reach and very attentive. I would stay here again in a heart beat. In fact, I hope I do. PS Sit outside at night and listen for the owls
