The house is beautifully situated and has a wonderful view. The bedrooms are big enough and the beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately, there are no power sockets in any of the bathrooms and there are not enough towels. One hand towel and two bath towels per bedroom. When asked, they just said that it should be enough. Cleanliness is mediocre. Instructions for the heating are missing. You have to figure out how to use it yourself. When you enter the house, you notice a musty smell, but you don't notice it anymore after a short time. All in all, not a house for high standards.
We had a wonderful stay at Birdsong. We loved the house, sea views, short walk to the beautiful beach, quiet nights with the sound of sea waves - everything was simply perfect. I will miss my morning coffee on the terrace! We will be back soon.

Fabulous house and location
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at Birdsong. The holiday was to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were three generations. The house is very spacious, well equipped and was clean and welcoming. It is a short walk to a lovely clean beach and the grandchildren loved it there. The pool table and football game provided lots of entertainment and competition. I would recommend a stay at Birdsong to everyone and hope to stay there again before too long. Melanie provided all the information needed before our visit and my deposit was returned very promptly. A beautiful house and I can't find fault with it.

A wonderfully theraputic break
Wonderful property- breathtaking views, easy access to the coastal path, beach and shops. My mobility was poor on arrival but improved with every day we stayed in this amazing place. If I didn't feel good I could even gaze at the view from bed!

Gorgeous home with a spectacular view of the sea
We stayed at Birdsong for three nights in March and it was perfect. It's a large house that accommodates big groups, so we never felt on top of each other. It has everything you could possibly need; multiple bathroom facilities, a big kitchen and living room and a pool/football table to keep us occupied after a long walk or while waiting for the rain to clear. We immediately felt at home. Best of all was the view of the sea which is breathtaking and totally unexpected.
The house is a short walk to the white sandy beach and blue sea. Definitely one of the UK's hidden gems. St.Ives is also a lovely little place and I especially enjoyed my trip to the Barbara Hepworth museum and sculpture gardens - not to be missed if you are a fan of her work or sculptures generally!
I hope to visit again very soon!

A great family holiday home
This was our second holiday at Birdsong. We had a very good week’s holiday in May 2015 with our son daughter, her husband and two young grandchildren.
The property was exactly as described and booking, payment, etc was straightforward. We found the house clean and well maintained.
The layout of the house is excellent for a large group with all of the facilities you need for cooking, etc and the views are superb. Everyone enjoyed the pool, table tennis and table football.
We love the location of the house with close proximity to St Ives, the restaurants, bars and the beaches.
Negatives are few but most of us all felt that the bed mattresses and pillows were in need of replacement as they did not give very good support.
Fortunately the weather was kind and we were able to go to the Porthminster beach most days. I can recommend the bacon baps from the cafe on the beach.
We decided to go out to one of the better restaurants for dinner but didn’t reserve a table as it was early in the season. All of the restaurants were fully booked so we ate at the Curry Garden where we had an excellent but not cheap meal. In future I would definitely reserve a table in advance whatever time of the year.
I would certainly recommend Birdsong.

Birdsong, St Ives
My girlfriend and I stayed at Birdsong for a long weekend break. We left London looking for some rest and relaxation. Birdsong was perfect. It is a large detached house with breathtaking views. Even though it was February we lay in the Cornish sunshine drinking coffee, ate at the multitude of fantastic restaurants in St. Ives and went for long hikes over beaches and around headlands. On Sunday morning we woke up to a stunning sunrise that we could watch without even needing to get out of bed. It was the perfect mini break, I could never get bored of that view. Will bring our friends and family with us next time. Thank you for letting us share your family home.

Good Find
I have stayed in lots of houses in the St Ives area and this is really a truly delightful find.
The house was beautifully made up when we arrived, there were little extras like tea and biscuits ready (always useful after a long drive). It has off street parking which is again an unusual and welcome thing in St Ives.
the house is breathtaking. You wake up every morning surrounded by these huge pine trees with a view down to the sea. It doesn't get any better.
The short walks down to the beaches are lovely and there are amenities really close. The owner was easy to deal with and I would recommend this house. I think it is probably ideal for larger families although as a couple it would still be nice, you would just have lots of space.

Wonderful Views
First visit to cornwall in a long time! The views at Birdsong are lovely even in the winter time. We really enjoyed our week and went on many long walks. The house itself is modern, clean and had everything we needed. This is a lovely house and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a larger family who needs the space!!

Superb!
I really can't say enough about this property, the photographs really don't do it justice. The location is great, about a 5 minute drive from the centre of St Ives. When you arrive at the property you are astounded at the view, it really is beautiful. My husband and I stayed for a week with our two golden retrievers and we spent many lazy hours on the balcony and in the garden enjoying the view with a glass of wine.
The internet TV in the lounge is great with the fantastic surround sound system, perfect for lazy days and nights in.
Although we didn’t use most of the stuff the house is well equipped with a pool table and plenty of games etc for kids. We did make use of the well equipped utility room to get our washing and drying done before we moved onto the next part of our holiday.
The bedrooms are beautiful with the two main bedrooms having en-suites, large walk in wardrobes, TV’s as well as gorgeous views, very relaxing.
The well equipped kitchen was perfect for rustling up a meal, or if you fancied something a bit different, the Chippy down the road does fab fish and chips and we highly recommend the Rum and Crab shack in town for great cocktails and seafood and the Loft for good food and wine. Both welcomed our dogs which was a godsend.
The house is right by a large tesco making it ideal to get your supplies and only a few minutes walk from the bus stop taking you into town if you didn't fancy the battle with parking in St Ives.
The communication from Melanie was great, very easy to book and obtain the return on our deposit.
We plan to come back next summer with some friends.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Happy Days
The Day family enjoyed another fabulous stay here @ Birdsong - now three out of the last four years for us gives a strong recommendation for others to follow ; my wife Sarah , myself & our three grown up daughters Emma , Jenny & Beth & their boyfriends really enjoy our " quality time " together as we all lead very busy lives .... oh yes our retriever dog Lulu has a great time too !
The house location and layout are both ideal , being a few minutes walk from the hustle & bustle of St Ives .... the property is well described and looked after .....and the coastal path is a real bonus leading us into the town ( the Porthminster café is a popular stop en route for a cream tea ! )
In the house the games area is very popular and the view from the elevated terrace is a pure delight with views across the bay to Godrevy on a clear day

A little bit of Heaven!
Our third time in St Ives, this time for a family wedding... and needed something big enough for us and two of the kids and their partners and kids...eight of us in all, Birdsong was large, bright and airy, very well equipped and had an upside down arrangement which turned out to be ideal, lovely views from the ground floor lounge and kitchen / dining area and spacious sleeping quarters in the lower ground, with the games area forming the access to these rooms. All rooms had sea views, clever!
The "deck" / verandah was very large and would make the ideal seating area for larger parties, the views were gorgeous..
We could not have been happier, a 15 minute walk into town, ( the coastal path was steep but beautiful) quieter location than some of the in town rental homes but this was better for us, it also has the benefit of on and off street parking which inner places do not have for free!
The owner of Birdsong was more than helpful and the house was spotless when we arrived, ( and after actually ..), would I recommend it?? I would 100%... we will be back at the first opportunity...

Excellent stay
We stayed at Birdsong while attending our sons wedding at Treganna Castle. This is the most beautiful house with breathtaking views of Carbis Bay, all bedrooms where good size with 2 ensuite and a beautiful large bathroom which was ideal for the four couples staying to get ready for the wedding. Large gardens with access to the coastal path and games room were brilliant for family gatherings. We loved the holiday so much we intend to return next year.
