We open 2025 reservations on January 1, 2025 and fill on a first come first served basis. We will open first on the KeukaWindsong website for direct rentals to our previous guests and others. VRBO was very slow in paying us last year, i.e. collecting full payment from guests in January and not paying us until after some guests were already there and back home in the Fall. So we may not un-block our VRBO site until a bit later this year.
We include with your KeukaWindsong rental rates two single and a tandem kayak and one stand-up paddleboard at the house at waters edge with everything you need to enjoy the lake. In 2025 the watercraft are included at no additional fee - you just have to sign the liability release before we provide paddles and life jackets. Come enjoy the lake - Come enjoy the water.
In 2022 we have updated the watercraft, converted the den into an additional bedroom, by adding a queen size bed, and replaced all the windows to provide enhanced ventilation. But KeukaWindsong is all about.....
Location - location - location
KeukaWindsong is all about the house location on the lake.
If you've stayed at Keuka before you understand that the highway traffic goes north-south on the east and west sides of the lake.
KeukaWindsong is on the inside loop of the lake - no outer loop truck traffic - and the home is tucked way off the road among the trees - you will hear no traffic and you can't even see the house from the quiet inner-loop road.
Not just that, but we have a Paved driveway and parking area well off the road - enough for many (we have had as many as 8 or 10) cars.
We have a stream that trickles down through the property and
75- feet of water frontage with 2 docks and a swim raft between.
Water at the one dock is zero depth entry and off the other dock varies from 3 to 5 feet, depending on time of year.
Relax Lakefront in KeukaWindsong on East Bluff Drive your next Upstate NY Finger Lakes vacation. The custom built glass front home resides on the Penn Yan lake branch along the serene East Bluff Road side of the Y shaped Keuka Lake. Just two miles from Keuka College, the home sits hillside and garners a broad sweeping view of the lake. This inner shoreline provides the tranquil traffic free side of Keuka Lake. Tucked off the road among the trees, the custom built, two story, 1650 square foot home, boasts soaring exposed arched beam with tongue and groove ceiling construction. The vaulted space combined with glass front home sits midway in elevation between the road and water’s edge. Just steps from the house to the water but set high enough to view and enjoy the lake activities without having your serenity disturbed. For you early risers, experience the spectacular sunrise from the deck as it rises above the vineyard lined hills across the lake and shines across the water. At the end of the day light a fire in the fire pit on the beach and watch the moon set beyond the hills and shine across the lake as you sit on the beach at water’s edge. The lake is ringed with fires during summer holidays, creating a spectacular sight.

The main level at the front of the home boasts an open vaulted gathering room/kitchen/dining room layout with a window wall offering wide open views of the lake. The room includes a huge wrap around sofa and provides a great place to watch movies together as a family. The kitchen is well equipped to cook family meals and includes gas stove, dishwasher, and garbage disposal – the items often missing at the lake. The kitchen peninsula makes it easy to put out food for the “serve and take” crowd who want to take advantage of dining on the deck or beachfront, and the large dining table easily seats six. The kitchen and dining room afford a beautiful lake view and offer a great place to dine or enjoy family games.
Also on the main floor are a full bath and laundry room, and a bedroom with a Queen size bed. The full bath across the hall contains a stand-up shower. The bedroom includes an open pass through to the staircase leading downstairs to retain a view of the lake.
Downstairs, ground level to the lakefront side the home, boasts two roomy bedrooms, each with Queen-size bed, along with a second full bath. Each bedroom has windows towards the lake and doors that walk out to a covered patio level. The lower level full bath contains a bathtub/shower combination. Additionally, we have retrofitted an inside storage room as a kids bunk room. Our kids always pulled futons in there and slept there, so we've decided to make it the kids cave and add a set of bunk beds.
The home enjoys air conditioning and is on public water and sewer providing convenience and no “lake-flavored” water. We also have gas, so we have a gas stove to cook on. The gas stove and over the range microwave are three years old.
The home includes a smart TV and wireless internet for those who can’t unplug. The winding tree lined paved drive allows for ample off street parking. The home is privately tucked in the trees - not visible from the road. The wide wrap around deck on the lakeside provides a place to sit outside and dine, relax on the swing, play games, or just read and enjoy the view. French doors open to the deck from the great room and allow the fresh lake breeze to blow through. The gas grill on the patio out front provides grilling and chilling space just a few steps from the kitchen and retains a good view of the lake.
For families coming to Keuka for the water, you won’t be disappointed with the beach and swimming area. There is 75 feet of lakefront with bulkhead, and seasonally two 12-foot long docks for sunning, boat mooring or cannon balling. We have an 8x8 foot floating swim raft moored just offshore with retractable aluminum stairs that floats in the sun throughout the afternoon and enable the feel of a day on the boat. The lake bottom, like all natural glacier-formed Finger Lakes is crushed water washed stone. You can walk into the water from the right dock, where it meets the beach. To the right of the right dock is also a walk in area. The beach area is grassed and contains lots of chairs to sit by the water’s edge and enjoy the view, a table for dining with umbrella for afternoon shade, and share conversation, and a cool drink while you watch the kids enjoy the water.
Onsite watersports rentals - Windsong includes in the rates use of single and tandem kayaks, as well as a stand-up paddleboard. You can learn to enjoy something new while you vacation! Equipment is at the waters edge just waiting to get wet.
Windsong is ideally located just a little over a mile from Keuka College and half way along the Penn Yan branch to the Garrett Memorial Chapel at Bluff Point. The bluff drive provides for a scenic bike ride or walk route. The home is a short scenic ten minute drive to downtown Penn Yan, where guests can enjoy fine dining, shop for antiques, take in a movie, and buy groceries. You can hike various glens in the area, peruse items at the Windmill Farm and Craft Market, visit the Glen H. Curtiss Air Museum, or the Finger Lakes Boating Museum. Seneca Lake with Watkins Glen, which is a great family hike, is 30 minutes east and Canandaigua with quaint lakeside shopping is 30 minutes west. The “Big City” Rochester and all that it offers Great Lake visitors is a little over an hour away. Hike the Keuka Outlet Trail, a 7 mile path along the former canal towpath, from Penn Yan to Dresden on Seneca Lake, and take in the splendor of the 40 foot Seneca Mills Falls. Corning Glass Museum is short drive away. For family fun, be sure to find your way to Seneca Farms Dairy in downtown Penn Yan for the best fried chicken, milkshakes and ice cream in the area. Walgreens has a Redbox for movie rentals. There is always something unique going on (say it with me – unique New York, unique New York, unique New York … come on you know you want to) for families or couples just a short distance away.
For guests visiting the Finger Lakes Wine Region, Windsong is in the heart of it. Windsong is within driving distance of several notable wineries including Bully Hill Vineyards, Heron Hill Winery and the prestigious Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars. Grape pies in the Fall are to die for!
The home previously has only been enjoyed by the family since it was built by our parents. 2016 ushered in the first rentals ever. The family has dispersed enough from Upstate that the home sits un-used un-enjoyed for far too much of the season. We are going to open it up for others to enjoy like we have and hopefully enable others to form lasting family lake vacation memories. Come enjoy our home and treat yourself and your family to a Finger Lakes vacation.
