Fabulous Fall

We came to Murphy to visit family and relax. What we experienced was amazing. This cabin has mountain views that go on forever. The staff was great and although I was supposed to only be there for 4 days we called and were allowed to stay for 3 more. It had everything our family needed, Will be back soon :)

Great Mountain House

Excellent location in an upscale community. Great long range views from the ridge, 30 mi to farthest mountain range. Attractive house with lots of game mounts. Living room furniture ready for replacement, but overall, very comfortably arranged.

Fulfilling Dad's Final Wishes

We had stayed here previously for a family vacation and my dad just loved everything about this cabin and the surrounding area. He had requested upon his departing of life, that his ashes be taken to the mountains and released and some home to Ohio. We wanted to honor this with a stay at his favorite vacation cabin and find a location to release his ashes. We accomplished this with the help of the property owner and Appalachian Land Company. It was wonderful and we kept our promise to him and it made an emotional family time a little more special to know that he would have been happy that we got to share in one of his special things. Thank you soo much for everything and all the help. We appreciate the special consideration for 1 night stay and the card provided was extra special. We will refer others and will definitely be looking for return for more special memories.

Listing is accurate, this cabin is great!

Nicer than expected. Lots of room inside and tons of outdoor deck space. Well furnished, very comfortable, and the views are incredible! Check in was fine; not much to say about it. Had to find a way to kill time after arriving earlier than expected as there is absolutely no exception to the NO early check in rule despite the cabin not having been rented for the previous several days leading up. This is clearly posted in the listing so it’s not a complaint, just a bit disappointed not even an hour could be offered. A 3p check in is usual and customary. Neighborhood is very nice; gated, and well kept. Was bit surprised to see the cabins are very, very close together; not secluded. This can has expansive mostly private views on the back side however, so the neighbors are not noticeable unless maybe there is lots of movement/activity to hear them. No one was around when we were there however (mid Nov). Overall this cabin is well worth it and we will definitely be back!

Lovely Cabin

Bear Bunker Lodge was a delightful place to stay. The views were unbeatable! We wish there had been a lock box instead of having to pick up and drop off the key at the office, and the mattresses could (really) use updating. But overall, we had a great time and would stay again. The after hours gentleman was very helpful and kind, as were the office staff.

And the neighbors are very friendly. The Cabin is just as described, if not better. My daughter and I had a fantastic time visiting surrounding areas and returning to this wonderful cabin was the topping on our vacation. We both agree that we would like to stay in this cabin abain!

Top of the World

Property is secluded at the top of a mountain with breathtaking views on both sides - east and west, providing beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Interior is very well maintained, spacious and decorated to provide mountain lodge atmosphere. We will be back!

Perfect get away

The cabin is extremely nice. We had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes and etc. The view is amazing even though we couldn’t see thru the fog. Would have been nice if the fireplace worked. It turned cold and wet and we stayed and enjoyed the quiet and the cabin to its fullest. We hope to back one day! The drive up was narrow and winding. Us Florida people are used to flat long straight roads. But it wasn’t that bad. We were anxious to come off the mountain when a freeze became a possibility. Would be great for a family reunion. There is plenty of space for several people and a great man cave downstairs!

Best View in Murphy

I love this property! It has become our home away from home and we now come annually. This home has a spacious floor plan with plenty of room for everyone. The wrap-around porch is my favorite place. I can sit staring at the gorgeous views of the mountains all day! And lots of wildlife to be seen in this area. Located in a gated community the neighbors are super friendly. I hate to give this property such a glowing review for fear that others will discover my most favorite place! I cannot wait to go back!

Breathtaking!

We just left to head home and we are so sad to go. This cabin was beyond our expectations! We picked this cabin for the views we saw in the photos and let me tell you, in person was even better. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was beautiful and always had deer roaming around. I had no complaints about our stay at all!

Breathtaking view, and a beautiful house!

We absolutely loved our trip here. Check in was mildly inconvenient (had to pick up keys at the rental office, rather than just going straight to the house) but you drive right past the office on the way in no matter where you come from, so it wasn't a big deal. The house was HUGE and beautiful, and the view was breathtaking. Pictures do not capture it! We did a few day trips to Georgia (around 30 minutes away) hike around a lake, as well as to visit a lovely vineyard. Not sure how much there is to do on the NC side, but we barely wanted to leave that view, anyway!

Awesome cabin

This cabin had a spectacular view and beautiful furnishings in bear and mountain motif. It was spacious and lots of windows to enjoy the breathtaking mountains view. We saw lots of deer and it was very clean. I would suggest taking a memory foam topper for the king bed as it helped make it very comfortable. I hope to stay again.

It was okay

It was okay. I spent my honeymoon/familymoon here. It only has a tv in one room. My children were terrified of the decorations in the room. They decided to sleep in the living room. The lights kept going out and the AC didn’t work for the last 2 days and we left a day early. It just wasn’t a very good time.

Beautiful cabin with great views

Cabin was very nice and well stocked. We loved the deck and enjoyed watching deer and birds on our property and on the drive in the neighborhood.
