My husband, dog and I stayed three nights here. Great location, right on the bay and easy 15 min. walk to downtown restaurants and shops. We appreciated the comfortable seating, they have a nice recliner and reclining couches. I do wish the property had a dishwasher and a few more upgrades, but overall this place was great.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this quaint, funky historic cottage. The view out the back with the adirondack chairs is great. It is fully stocked and comfortable. If you want modern, minimalist, this is not for you. If you want some character and a handcrafted built-ins and furniture, this is for you.
Very much enjoyed our week here. It is an historic cottage, reminded me of our family lake house they built in 1940. Miss having that, so I liked the feeling of this place. We could watch the Bay for hours. Everything you need is there, but you are close to town, too. We knew there’s no dishwasher, so took lots of paper plates to avoid a lot of handwashing. A little lazy on vacation. Modern life has its perks, Door Dash brought us some great food quickly, so we’d not have to cook. Try Beach Burgers’ clam chowder. BEST we’ve ever had. Unexpected. :)
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The house was lovely, and situated with a view of the water. Our family stayed here for a total of 4 days, not counting the day we left. The neighborhood is very quiet and calm, which made for a relaxing stay. Many things were also provided, including board games in the closet! There are also many places nearby, such as grocery stores and restaurants, as well as plenty of little shops. The house itself was fantastic. Everything functioned well (the windows, shower, etc), which made our stay very easy. If you want to stay in a quiet neighborhood located near lots of interesting and fun places (including Morro Rock!), this may just be the house for you.
I have rented quite a few properties through this site and this was one of the best. I got exactly what I expected. The house was exactly as described - a cute, historic house with all the charms that go along with that.
For a quick Father's Day weekend trip with the teens, we didn't bring much food so not having a dishwasher was no problem. We made coffee and used the microwave twice - all worked perfectly. Coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon overlooking the boats was divine.
The house is a nice walk to downtown kayak rentals, restaurants, shops. My husband and son brought e-bikes and enjoyed cruising all around town and around the golf course. It was nice to store the bikes safely in the garage. My daughter and I went for a run along the water - not hilly and lovely views from the moment you leave the door. We all rented kayaks before the winds picked up. We puzzled and read and relaxed. It was just what we wanted.
Extra bonus was that the property management company was extremely professional, clear, and accessible. At the last minute, I thought my pet sitter was flaking so asked about bringing my 15-lb dog. They responded quickly and said I could call to pay the pet fee. It turned out I didn't need to, but it was nice to have that option when I was unsure what would happen on my end.
We loved this place from beginning to end. Our dog especially loved the backyard. It is a million dollar view. Great town. Very friendly people. The home is super comfortable. We enjoyed noticing the details of old style. Just loved it. ❤️
This is an older home with lots of character. Beautiful location and view is amazing. The kitchen is well stocked for lots of cooking and baking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful, quiet, private, amazing view. It was perfect for a little personal retreat. It is also set up nicely for a group of friends or family. Would definitely like to come back !
cozy, cumfy and classic home. Watch the sunset sparkle off the water. Spend the day walking the Embarcadero enjoying the shops, galleries, great sea food, wine tasting and otter watching ALL with a spectacular view!
The one bathroom could be updated so an adult can actually sit comfortably. We understand the idea to keep the cabin looking historic. I guess blue was the color for that time, but the cabinets are not useful and the toilet needs some room. The house was clean, even the carpet. The big chair was a nice surprise, easy to watch football on the television. We enjoyed the big table overlooking the bay, one of the best parts of the cabin. The bedrooms were a nice size, the king was smaller than our California king. Again the view out the window was great. We wish the bed was more comfortable, I am still trying to work out the kinks my back developed from the soft lumpy mattress. The cabin sits on an overlook and watching the sun set into the bay was delightful. We enjoyed the two mile walk to the rock and the beach. Overall a nice vacation for the family glad we got to include our dog. Thank you.
This is such a charming home. We are old house kind of people and so the funky bathroom and lovely wood accents and antiques were right up our alley. The location is amazing with an incredible view. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfy and the towels were high quality. We would definitely stay here again.
The house is clean and charming. The views are incredible. It’s fun to view the cormorants, herons, and egrets flying and nesting from the backyard. The sunsets are spectacular. Be aware that it’s a bit rustic and not suitable if you’re looking for a modern house. My only concern was the yard is not fully enclosed so our dogs could not roam off-leash.
The house has everything you need. The house was mostly clean but because it has carpet, it did smell a bit musty. Unfortunately, one of my family members has bad allergies, so that was not great. Other than that, we enjoyed it very much.
It is a sweet place. Lost a star because the garage door opener was in a dark corner, so we couldn’t find it to have yard chairs to enjoy the view until the second day of stay. Bed was very comfortable. Lovely watching the board paddlers and the boats right in the backyard.
Killer View of Marina, Morro Rock, Birds and One Otter!
This home is a great older home with lots great character. Wood paneling, wallpaper, period furniture, some imaginative electrical wiring so you can have things like a microwave, coffee pot etc. The pixs are accurate. If you are looking for slick, modern, minimalist, this is not for you. The front of the house is set back almost as far as they could get it from the main drag but you will hear some road noise mostly in the bedroom closest to the street. But we travel with white noise machines, so it was fine. Go on the back part of the house or the back patio and you don't hear a thing. Also the traffic dies down at night. There is no AC but there are portable fans if you look around. We loved it. It is fully equipped with kitchen items, games, TV's, linens, patio furniture (in garage). The view is killer. We spent every moment we could out on the back brick patio on the comfortable outdoor furniture. Many of the various birds that lived at The Rookery, have moved into the trees next to the house. Their antics are fun to watch. The owners have thoughtfully provided various sets of binoculars too. One small otter kept us company too. You can watch sailors working on their boats, kayakers paddling around etc. We would definitely stay here again, maybe for even longer. For those who are walkers, you can stroll into town or stroll out to the old rookery, the museum etc.
