About this property

Fantastic penthouse apartment with wrap-around views of Chania

This penthouse apartment is in the tallest building at the highest point of Chania. It is a 10 minute walk downhill to Koum Kapi beach and a 10 minutes walk to the new archeological museum. The Venetian Harbour and the old town are a 10 minute drive away.

The lift goes straight from the garage to the apartment and opens onto a large living space with a wall of windows overlooking the harbour and Chania. There are four terraces.
The decor is modern minimalist and the walls are always decorated with the works of some fine local artists.
The main living area is L-shaped and the well-equipped kitchen, which includes a microwave oven and dishwasher. The back terrace has a small pool with a waterfall and a light-show. There is a barbecue and the terrace is planted with trees.
The first bedroom has a king-sized bed and a terrace with mountain and city views. There is a bathroom next door which has a bath and shower and a large washing machine.
The second bedroom has large twin beds and an en suite bathroom with a shower, The beds can also be used as a very large double or two small double beds for children..The third bedroom can be used as a study. It has a desk and a double convertible couch. All three bedrooms have generous wardrobe space.

The sofa in the living room can also convert to a double bed




Below Lentariana, on the coastal road from the airport to Chania, is historic Chalepa. From the windows you can see the blue dome of Evangelistria church and the many imposing mansions and consular villas gathered around the Venezelos residence. The marble palace of Prince George, the former governor of the island is next door. It is almost a ruin now, but the colours and the original character are still there.

Shopping.
There is a small supermarket and a baker two minute walk away. Lentariana high street is a five minute drive away; It has a large supermarket, restaurant and coffee shops and a fresh fish shop. The Monday street market is in the Courthouse Square a ten minute walk away.

Beaches and Swimming.
The nearest place to swim is Koum Kapi beach a 5 minute drive away. Swim in the lagoon amongst the stone ruins. Koulouris rock pool is also cloase by.

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE!
The penthouse is just as big and bright and beautiful as the photos make it appear. Having the top floor of a 10 story building gave us a birds eye view of the coastline and mountains from our big windows, sun deck and multiple verandas. While not set in the heart of the Chania old Venetian harbor area, getting to the hustle and bustle of that tourist central was an easy walk or an even easier (and cheap) cab ride. The flat was well appointed with everything we needed, as well as with things we didn't know we needed, like the espresso machine! Having secure, covered parking was also a very valuable thing to us. A review of this property would not be compete without mentioning our hosts, Vivien and Christopher, who are delightful and went far above and beyond the all of duty by ensuring we knew where to find the best supermarket as well as a local swimming hole and several off-the-beaten path restaurants and tavernas we would never have found by ourselves that were amazing. We discovered that Vivien and Chris are both authors so forced the to let us read their books, which was a special treat. We bought copies of both of them!

Beautiful
Vivien and Chris were great hosts! The apartment was very spacious with a great view. You do not need a car if you are planning to stay in Chania as taxi service is very convenient and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

Lovely and spacious
We stayed in Chania Penthouse for 5 days and enjoyed being in a lovely and spacious apartment. The views were beautiful especially at sunset and sitting on the balcony enjoying the evening breeze was a nightly ritual. Vivien was very accommodating and kind. She showed us around the neighborhood and even escorted us to a beautiful seaside taverna when we arrived.

Perfect penthouse for your stay in Chania
The location of this apartment is perfect with magnificent views of Chania. The property is clean, fully functioning and isn't missing a thing! The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated and inviting! The host is just as inviting, kind and helpful. I would definately recommend this penthouse to my friends and family and would go back to stay at this same place except I would choose to stay longer!

Il est difficile de critiquer quand tout est parfait! Vivien et Chris sont des hôtes charmants, à l'écoute et de très bons conseils. Nous avons suivi et testé toutes leurs adresses et n'avons jamais été déçus que ce soient pour les visites, les plages ou les bonnes tavernes! Quand à l'appartement, il est spacieux, facile à vivre, avec une vue magnifique, proche des grands axes permettant les visites et du Centre ville sans être trop dans le bruit Rien ne manque et il est décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Chacun y a trouvé sa place, nous étions 2 familles avec 2 grands adolescents Dans la cuisine, quelques produits "de démarrage" nous ont permis de commencer notre séjour sans courrir faire les courses et le 1er matin Viven nous a gentiment déposé quelques viennoiseries locales, merci! Nous ne pouvons que conseiller ce penthouse qui vous permet de passer des vacances en Crête formidables Vievien et Chris MERCI Beaucoup pour tout, vous êtes aussi les acteurs de nos vacances réussies! Why they chose this property

We chose this property because of the huge space and the spectacular views of Chania and the White Mountains. Also because the apartment faces west and has great sunsets but keeps cool and because I don't drive and I can walk into Chania.

What makes this property unique

This apartment has wrap-around views of Chania the Cretan Sea and the White Mountains. The mountain-facing terrace with plunge pool and barbecue is for the sole use of penthouse guests. The penthouse occupies the entire 10th floor of the building. It also comes a storage room and a secure garage for two cars.
