About this property

Best One Bedroom View In Port Aransas!

This newly remodeled 1 bedroom condo is located in the heart of Port Aransas on beautiful Mustang Island in the Dunes Condominium Resort. The second you enter, you will start enjoying your unforgettable view!

We will be updating our photos soon. The photos shown here are pre Harvey, and many improvements have been made since then.

The kitchen has all new appliances, cabinetry and granite counter tops with plenty of cook ware for your chef. The dining table is tall for viewing over the balcony railing as you dine. The sofa is brand new with a pull out queen sized bed. There is an adjustable TV in the living area that can be turned for viewing in the kitchen, dining and living areas. The bedroom has a King sized mattress and new furnishings(very comfy) and a VERY large TV . The bathroom has a soaker tub and removable shower head. There are two vanities, one in the bedroom and one in the bath.

There are tall chairs on your private balcony for your birds eye view of the Lydia Ann ship channel, the Horace Caldwell pier and of course the Gulf of Mexico. You will enjoy spectacular sunrises, watching ships and boats as they glide through the channel, and all of the action at the pier which is the hot spot for surfers and kite boarders and is lighted at night for the avid fisherman.

The complex itself has a large fresh water pool that is heated in the cooler months and a large whirlpool hot tub. There is a shaded lanai, and a spacious sundeck.

This condo is a brand new listing for this summer, so if you see there aren't many bookings, that's the reason. This place will book up fast. We don't rent through the rental pool at the Dunes.

A Working Vacation

My husband and I decided to take a working vacation in Port Aransas which meant actual online work interspersed with breaks at the beach and searches for fried shrimp. Work a little, play a little, I guess. With the schedule we created, we spent a LOT of hours at The Dunes. And we were happy we did.The condo is immaculate and beautifully appointed with lovely linens, furniture, glassware, decor. The large patio faces the Gulf which offers great views for people and bird watching as well as watching ships head into and out of the ship channel. The location is exceptional. After staying at many beach rentals which touted their close proximity to the beaches, The Dunes is the closest. It was about three minutes from the living room to the sand. By car, the restaurants are 3-5 minutes away.The condo owners have added many nice touches: fast internet, first-aid kit, two flat screen TV's, new board games, DVD's, paper products, koozies, telescope, local information.Everyone we met at The Dunes was welcoming and friendly, particularly the staff and full-time residents. Every morning after we watched the sun rise from our balcony, we'd meet a group of locals in the lobby drinking coffee and greeting all the newbies. Discovering all the great dogs living at The Dunes made us sad we had left ours at home. Next time--and we are already looking forward to our next stay--we'll bring him, too!

Awesome getaway!

We enjoyed our long weekend stay at this location! The condo was clean and gorgeous. The location was perfect as we would walk barefoot to the beach for our morning walks, and after grabbing a beverage, it was perfect for walking to the beach with our beach chairs and watching the sunset. One day it rained lightly, so we enjoyed the sunset from the lanai. Everything was perfect.The only thing missing was a handle to get in and out of the shower/ bath tub. We are older and a handle would have helped.Otherwise, we are looking forward to returning to this condo at Port A!

Great location and wonderful unit

The condo is in a perfect spot - great views, steps from the beach and close to restaurants, bars & shopping. The unit was very clean, comfy bed and we liked the telescope to watch the surfers and ships go by.

Anniversary vacation

As noted, the view is fantastic!! The property is very convenient to stores, restaurants and places of interest. We enjoyed walking the beach every day. The staff was very helpful with information and quickly helped us get the TVs working (we're not techies.) The residents also were quite friendly. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Massive plumbing leak.

Arrival day was perfectly fine. We had a wedding to attend the next day. As the shower was being used in upstairs bathroom, the water was flooding downstairs draining from a light fixture and the air conditioning duct. It took every beach towel we had to dry yo the mess. Very troublesome and inconvenient.

Best beach location ever!

This was by far the perfect beach vaca thus far. The condo was in tip top condition. Literally right on the beach! The pool was also amazing and very refreshing after a day on the beach. The staff were also very pleasant. This is by far a 10/10. Only one note to add is bring your favorite spices if you use more than just salt and pepper. Also bug spray for patios. largest mosquitos I've ever seen but certainly not a deal breaker!!

Great condo, clean, nice view. Only gripe, we couldn't find the remote for bedroom TV and when we found one, it only turned TV on but couldn't get to any channels. So only downer on our experience, not able to enjoy watching TV from bedroom. Remotes should always be easy to find by TV or in same room... and work of course once you find one. May sound petty but our frustration level was high when you pay good money

Wonderful place

This was a sister, friend getaway. We absolutely loved our stay. Love the all windows for a view…close to the beach. The pool and hot tub was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful with information about the area.

Very clean property, everyone was very friendly and helpful too. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub too. Our only issue was the work being done on the outside of the building. There was a grinding noise off and on all day.

Fall beach trip

Very comfortable condo for a couple. Nicely equiped and well maintained. Geat location. Easy walk to the beach. Used the pool every morning for exercise in the shade. Great view from the balcony. Enjoyed watching the ships coming and going. Will definitly consider this property next time we visit.

Kim and I spend the summers in South Dakota where Kim has a farmer consulting business. They grow feed corn and soybeans mostly and I help him with bookkeeping and running the household. He is an agronomist and helps farmers to decide when to fertilize and those kinds of things. Since farming happens in the summertime, it leaves us free to travel south in the winters to get out of the cold weather!

Why they chose this property

Kim and I purchased this property because of its amazing views and all of the wonderful amenities at the complex. We spend our winters in Port Aransas and wanted to have a place where we could enjoy a heated pool and easy access to the beach. We definitely found that at the Dunes! We love it because it is right in town and that makes grocery shopping, dining and everything that Port A. has to offer much more convenient. We could spend hours just watching the ships sailing through the channel, bird watching, people watching and the moon lite ocean at night. This winter we spent much of our time in Port A. remodeling this little gem. We can't wait to get back there! We love this town!

What makes this property unique

When we first bought this condo it needed a full remodel! It had drop down ceilings in the kitchen and the whole condo was very dated. But, it was easy to see past all of that because of the stunning views, beautiful grounds, great amenities and friendly staff.
