This Duplex is beautifully decorated and furnished with a guests comfort in mind. Located on a corner complete with its own entrance, porch and patio, this Duplex was designed and insulated so you never know the owner is next door. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to make a Thanksgiving dinner, including a Margarita Machine. The front porch encourages “front porch sitting” to watch the friendly neighbors go by.
This home is 2 bedroom 2.5 bathrooms. All bedrooms are located upstairs with their own on-suite. There is a TV in the living room as well as each Bedroom. The master has a king bed and the 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed. This home sleeps 6 as There is a sleeper in the living room

The Palmetto Moon Cottage is located in the Heart of Port Royal, a wonderful walking community. Close to water and a wonderful walking/biking trail

Wonderful stay in Port Royal

We really enjoyed our stay in Palmetto Moon Cottage, a very welcoming home with lots of thoughtful touches by the owner. Lovely but homely decor throughout the house, all facilities very comfy and as per description. Excellent location for peace and quiet, yet within walking distance of Port Royal attractions and easy drive to surrounding area. Host very welcoming and good communication. We hope to visit again in future.

Awesome location

One block from Fishcamp on 11th. Close to Sand Beach and the catwalk. Close to Hunting Island State Park and beach and the Penn Center. It was awesome.

A pretty good spot

This little apartment in Port Royal was one block from Madisons restraunts, one block the other direction to Fishcamp on 11th. (You have to google those, and then you have to go there1) It was minutes from Hunting Island State Park, the lighthouse, the Penn Center. We took a short day trip one day to Fort Sumter, and another to downtown Savannah. It's just an awesome place

Cutest place to stay!

This was a super clean, convenient and cute place! We were in town for a Marine basic graduation. When we weren’t on base, which was super close, it was a great place to relax. Very well stocked with kitchen supplies and anything else you could need. We walked to the beach and found shark teeth, had great ice cream on the walk back. I did have to email and request check in information and then there was some confusion with addresses and door codes information between that and the text I got but I figured it out quickly. They were fast to respond.

Everything you need …

The cottage is exceptionally well-equipped with every possible kitchen item you might need including spices. There were extra hangers provided, as well as cleaning supplies, games, puzzles, and books. The owner was very accommodating and attentive as well as being friendly!

Charming Temporary Stay: Perfect Location, Clean Home, Safe Area!

Duplex property

We had an OK stay in this rental. The location is nice and surrounding area easily walkable. This property is a duplex . The description lists it as an entire house, but truly, it's a duplex with shared walls, which normally I wouldn't rent. It's mentioned that the homeowner lives "next door" rather than stating it's a duplex. Also, the pictures on VRBO show a cute secluded patio with red umbrella and nice patio furniture, but that area was not at all as pictured. It was more of a storage area and not set up for use, so a bit disappointing. That was one of the reasons we chose this rental. Other posted pictures of the house also are not updated, although the interior was generally fine. Just not as pictured. I had a business meeting and the internet connectivity wasn't great, so I'd suggest finding an alternative location if you have a virtual meeting. Small details like several burned out lightbulbs and several missing rods on the window blinds, making them difficult to open & close were noted. Overall, our stay was OK...but a little different than previous places I've rented.

Red Door Rental - Palmetto Moon Cottage

Family Vacation

This was our first year staying in house instead of a hotel. We loved it!!!! The past 4 years we have traveled to Port Royal/Beaufort for vacation. This property is in walking distance of a few of our favorite things! The Sands Beach is no more than 2 minutes away. The Fish Camp on 11th (resturant right on the water; a must try) is right around the corner. Everything went smooth. Sally was an awesome host and so kind.

Awesome, Restful week!!!

What a fun stay! The owner met us upon arrival and made sure we were settled in, then just let us know that she was available if needed. The house was spotless and big enough for our family to enjoy a week of R&R. Centrally located in Port Royal Proper, getting around was so much fun with the golf cart we rented locally. Restaurants were all around us and many were in walking distance. There is a new Brewery just a block from the home. The Sands and boardwalk were just a short cart ride away and provided hours of relaxation (and there is a local beer garden there as well. We had a great time and will definately stay again! Thanks.

Great Place at a Reasonable Price

We stayed at Palmetto Cottage to be in close proximity to Parris Island MCRD for graduation. The location was in a very quiet neighborhood within walking distance of a couple of restaurants. The neighborhood was a wonderful place to take strolls, and the walk to town was reasonable. The cottage itself was comfortable for 5 adults, and well furnished and clean. I would definitely recommend this property to anybody visiting the area.

I built this Duplex in 2002 and originally rented this side long term. I turned it into the Palmetto Moon Cottage in 2006

I've stayed in my Palmetto Moon Cottage, after I turned it into a Vacation home, as I wanted to see if it had everything a guest could need. I live next door. I personally take care of all aspects of this Vacation Home and I believe it shows in all the small details.
