Great location!

Cute little cottage! Quiet and secure. Great location to walk to the zoo, grocery store, and quaint eating establishments. And the Troll Bridge is just a short drive from the cottage.

Fantastic location, functional house

We stayed here because I needed somethings close to the UW medical center. Location was great for that, plus good food nearby, and nice walking areas! For not being a large space, it did not feel cramped at all. It was well stocked. Parking was sufficient! The host was eaay to reach and communicate with.

A lovely vrbo!

The apartment was clean, thoughtfully renovated and spacious. It is well stocked with kitchenware and appliances and plenty of large towels. The owners included many things guests might need, like a vacuum, washer and dryer and a portable crib. The friendly owner was quick to reply to questions, and her binder of information was so helpful. Thermostats in all rooms were a helpful feature since the spring temps were chilly.

Great spot in a good neighborhood

Easy to get to a lot of fun parts of Seattle, comfortable and affordable cozy little basement apartment. Lots of fun tasty food nearby, and the zoo is RIGHT there. Just be aware if you're very tall (over 6'3") that the ceilings are pretty low and you might scrape your head going through the doors. Main ceilings are about 6'6"

We stayed for 4 days, the owner quickly responded to any if our questions. It was nice having a washer and dryer. Ceilings /door ways are low, but my 6-4 husband said it would not stop him from staying again.

Ideal Freemont Spot

We flew in from Calgary for a concert, a hockey game and a football game! The unit is in the perfect spot for getting pretty much everywhere. The unit was as described and the pictures were accurate. Ballard area is close (we went to the Sunday Market), grocery stores are close enough to walk, downtown is a 10 minute bus ride. Highly recommend!!

The 2 bedroom home makes efficient use of its space. Nice layout. Very clean. The home had everything we needed to make breakfast and lunch - we went out for dinners. The bus to Ballard and many great restaurants was right in front of the house. The bus to downtown Seattle was just a block away. We stayed for 3 nights and was perfect stay.

Convenient location, simple and clean

Check in process was easy and host was very responsive. It was a cute and simple place to stay while we explored Seattle. Two important notes: the ceilings are low in the unit as it’s a basement unit. My 6’3 husband had to duck under doorways and had just a couple of inches of headspace from the ceiling in general. So, probably not well suited for tall folks! And the unit above also gets rented out, so if you’re a light sleeper it may be tough for you (wasn’t particularly a problem for us with a reminder from the host on quiet hours). The value and location were great though!

Weekend getaway

This was our second time staying at this B Vrbo and it was just as lovely as the first time. It is in close proximity to public transit and a lot of local places to walk to. As someone who frequents Seattle often, I will always be looking to see if this place is available. Also, Teresa is an AMAZING host who is kind and highly communicative.

Super comfortable and roomy, centrally-located apartment

This apartment is a very comfortable space with two roomy bedrooms. Altho a "basement", it is full of light and you dont' feel like you are underground. The kitchen is well-stocked, beds are very comfy, bathroom is good and there's lots of seating in the living area. The location is perfect in that you can walk to many restaurants and coffee shops or access highways into Seattle -- all essential for crowded Seattle!

An Amazing and Warm Place

The property was very inviting and warm. Communication before and after check-in was great. Getting into the unit was easy. Initially I had trouble finding the unit, but that was my fault as I did not read the instructions in the app carefully which were very detailed. The unit was warm and attractive. The kitchen was a good size for the unit. The living room was comfortable with a nice sized flat screen with cable service. There was a channel that was not available but the flat screen had the ability to cast video from my iPhone using AirPlay. The 2 rooms were large. What was really appreciated was the queen sized bed with comfortable mattresses and bedding. As we don't spend that much time in the room coming back to sleep soundly is the most important aspect of any stay for me. And I slept very well. You were able to control the temperature separately in each room. The bathroom was well appointed with thick towels and soap/shampoo/conditioner. Initially, we thought the lighting in the bathroom was very dark until we discover there was a slider on the light switch then brightness. The lighting in the unit was very good and cheerful. Overall, the experience was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again when in Seattle. Again, it was warm, cozy, and inviting. Not far from UofW and close to downtown Seattle. I would highly recommend stay here when visiting Seattle.

Wonderful location

Many local shops, parks, and restaurants near by. Bus transit was easy to figure out. The home itself was very cozy, clean, and spacious. It was cuter than the photos. The only thing was the upstairs neighbors could be loud, but by the end of the day, we were too tired to care. Overall, will definitely stay there again!

City Haven III was built in response to the positive feedback we received from the original City Haven (vrbo Listing 585829) which is located right next door and upper unit of this home (vrbo listing 741854).

These homes are part of a love story that started back in 2004 when I purchased this house. The following year, my now husband moved from New York and bought the house next door. When we met, I asked him to move his garbage cans out of my driveway. But soon I started asking him to salsa dancing. And then he asked me to dinner. We fell in love! The man who bought the house next door married the girl next door (me!). Two kids and a few years later, we kept the homes a rentals and moved a few blocks North.

I left my job at Microsoft and we started buffing, remodeling, scraping and decorating these homes we've come to love. City Haven III is the result of a recent remodel that's turned this old 1920's Craftsman into a modern beauty with period charm.

We're Team Simon and our whole family works to make this a place you'll love to call home for a while. We love it! And we hope you'll love it, too.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home for the same reason you'll want to stay here.... close to Green Lake (swimming, paddle boats, golf)! Close to the Zoo (animals, outdoor summer concerts)! Grocery store 3 blocks away (last minute wine and snacks)! Right next to the express bus to downtown and close to all the great restaurants in Fremont (cook, schmook... let's go out to eat)! It's the perfect centralized hub to live like a local while still being close to everything the downtown area has to offer. Home away from home!
