We had a great stay here during the Christmas weekend. The weather hit 80 degrees on a couple of days and so we were able to use the pool which was a lot of fun for the family especially for my 4 yr old. Not too deep either and felt safe with her in the pool. Loved the visits by the family of deer. Did not get time to do any fishing but looks like there were some decent fishing spots. Austin is about an hour drive and we were able to drive down there for Dinner one night. Overall great place to stay at and will definitely come back. The owner was also kind enough to mail a couple of items that we forgot at the home.
We loved staying at this house. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The architecture and decoration of the house were very unique. We loved the upper porch for breakfast and lunch and enjoyed the lower porch for barbecuing in the evenings. The pool was amazing, with a lower area and a deep area (great for families with little kids). Lots of outside furniture, very accommodating, and seeing and feeding the deers was a blast!!! The kitchen has everything you can possibly need and more! All kinds of seasoning, utensils, and cookware. There were two big TVs with Direct TV ( we have not used them much, since we spent much of the time outside) but it's a good option for rainy/cool days. Overall, the furnishings of the house were top-notch: appliances, mattresses, bedding, furniture, etc. Lastly, Kim was an amazing host, she was easy to reach, and went all the way to make us feel comfortable. We will definitely return!
This lake house was the perfect getaway for our family. We enjoyed the pool everyday and the park that is a 3 minute walk away for beautiful lake views. The kitchen is fully stocked for everything you need to cook if you don’t want to go out! The house is beautiful and well kept and we felt safe and comfortable. Kimberly, the owner is available for questions and help if you need it! Totally recommend and hope to book here again in the future!
Kimberly is so accommodating and prepares your stay for a relaxed time away from home.
Warm and welcoming. Beds are wonderful. If you can’t make trips up and down stairs this is not for you. If you love art and nature you’ll be right at home!!
Clean, quiet, private, great views, nice pool. If your on the older side consider there many steps inside and out with no railings. Little dangerous however, overall nice place. We had plenty of fun!
This fun house checked off all the boxes for us! Comfortable beds, plenty of space, allowed our two fur babies, & sooooo many great places to enjoy the outdoors!! We love being outside & this property had an awesome upstairs deck w a view of the lake. That’s pretty much where I spent most of my time. The rest was spent in the pool or around it. Great shallow end for floating & reading your day away. Lots of covered, shaded areas as well when you needed a respite from the sun.
Great big yard area, big enough to throw frisbee around!
Master bedroom was accommodating & comfortable for me & my husband. Teen daughter stayed in bedroom connected thru a huge bathroom in between our two rooms. .
Teenage son loved the man cave downstairs, huge tv, couch, mini fridge, etc.
So peaceful & quiet & loved seeing all the deer, every day. Hummingbirds too!
This is not your cookie cutter house but we absolutely loved all the personality & quirkiness of it!
Kimberly always responded to any questions I had before my visit and during.
Would def return again!
You got to go and see for yourself ! Beautiful Clean Place , kitchen has everything you need to use quality stuff you would even feel embarrassed to leave the kitchen dirty. Overall it's the best place we enjoyed and would go back anytime.
We decided we needed a getaway over spring break. My 7 year old granddaughter traveled with us to stay on LBJ for a few days. We thoroughly enjoyed this eclectic house with great views of the lake and nature. The home was very comfortable and the neat pool was a hit. There is a huge amount of outdoor living space. The large yard was great for our dogs. They were enamored with the deer that didn’t seem to worried about them. If you take a boat, Bluebriar Park nearby is a good launch with parking as well.
The house located at 301 Castle View Drive in Granite Shoals Texas is so unique and interesting it deserves its own name like Shoals Casa or The Cameron House. This lovely circular home overlooking the Colorado River, surrounded by an expansive upper deck and lower patios, and a small pool with large fenced in yard, is a real gem in the vacation rental market.
If you are looking for a traditional rectangular home with a carport, three bedrooms and a 2.5 bath don’t bother. The Granite Shoals home is completely original and full of little design surprises, niches and quirks. Yes, there is one master bedroom, two small bedrooms and two bathrooms tucked into the round two story structure but unlike traditional inward oriented homes with their large living room vaulted ceilings, den and live-in kitchens, the Granite Shoal house is outward oriented connecting the home to the outside spaces and experience.
The house worked really well for our nearly month long stay during the early winter months. For two of the weeks we shared the home with our daughter and son-in-law. The two story layout allows for plenty of privacy and zones for hanging out, reading and working. The small living room and kitchen are perfect for an end of day cooking and, weather permitting, taking in the big sky sunset from the deck. With four adults it was great but might be a little small for 6 adults and we have no idea how the house feels in the summer.
We chose this house due to its proximity to the Texas Hill Country, wineries, distilleries and State parks. It was absolutely perfect. The home is an hour or so away from interesting small towns and even Austin. There is everything you need, grocery store, some restaurant options in neighboring Marble Falls. We easily visited two or three sites a day and always looked forward to returning to the house for the early evening sun set.
Like any home, the house has some normal wear and tear, especially the outside chairs and cushions which are weathered due to the hot summers. This small upgrade with a little decluttering would go a long way to accentuate the intrinsic beauty of this terrific property.
Last, but not least. Our host was terrific.
This is a great place to go, especially if you’re wanting to spend the majority of time at the property. Steps away from lake access and the pool is nice. There are lots of seating areas outside where you can hang out and talk or read. Very friendly neighbors. Would definitely go again.
Great property and amenities, will stay here again!
We so enjoyed our experience in this house. The pool is fantastic and the lake is right there, so you can enjoy sites and sounds of the lake during your stay. There were so many little areas to sit and enjoy company. Everything was very clean, and communication with the property owner was great. Every morning, throughout the day and evening many deer come a begging for the corn left on the deck. We're so grateful for this little getaway.
The property and pool were in good condition. The upper deck had comfortable outdoor furniture, however it had rained before our stay and all of the cushions were wet. Some type of outdoor storage for the cushions would be nice. Had some issues with the A/C, however, the owner quickly contacted a service technician who responded within an hour and had the system back up and running again. Overall, a very enjoyable vacation with the family.
House was awesome great bathroom the stairs are a little picaresque for older people the deck is so nice at nite even in summer the nites cool off nicely you also have several veiws of the lake and lake acess 4 swimming at the city park beautiful lake!! Id do it all again!! Plus the owner is super sweet! Ps the park is about a 3 min walk
Great place to gather and just hang out! The view was amazing, and the pool was perfect! There were many places to gather both in and out of the house. We chose this listing because we wanted the house to be the destination during the pandemic in order to not come in contact with others, and it exceeded our expectations. We scheduled a hike at Inks, but other than that the property was the perfect place to just hang out with our family.
Great home with a great yard. The house is unique and beautifully decorated. The pool was a hit with the family and it was the perfect size for a 6 year old and a 1 year old. The deck was a nice place for wine and star gazing. Also lots of deer in the area, which was a nice surprise. Would definitely rent this place again!
Like a lot of people this year, we were looking for a nice, pandemic-safe getaway, and we're so glad we chose this listing! This lake house is bursting with personality and custom decorative touches, and it's no exaggeration to say that the "geologist's dream" stone exterior of the house is stunning. The beds were comfortable, the deck and patio areas were spacious, and the furniture (inside and out) was perfect for relaxing on. We spent plenty of long hours in the pool, which was crystal clear and plenty big for three adults and two teenagers. The kitchen and bathrooms were impeccably clean and probably some of the best-kitted I've ever encountered in a rental house - every possible item or appliance you might need was right there, without exception! We'd definitely come back to this house again.
My wife, baby daughter and dog had a wonderful weekend away in this property. The pool is perfect, the view down to the lake is very calming and the whole place is great. Thank you!
Gorgeous & unique home with a fabulous yard! What made it unique was the floorplan where the kitchen, sitting area & 2 bedrooms that share a master bath were upstairs. There was also an outdoor upstairs deck accessible from the upstairs sitting area. We often spent some time out there with our dog. Downstairs was the big living room with a TV & another room with bathroom. Communication with property owner was excellent as she was very responsive. Had trouble once opening the door via combo, but quickly resolved when we contacted her.
Our family loved the stairs, but I can see if traveling with someone that has trouble going up & down the stairs due to physical challenges (elderly or someone hurt), that might be an issue. But, as mentioned we loved it. The views from the outside are also gorgeous with the cute deer often walking up to be fed . Overall, we highly recommend staying here. Can't wait to perhaps 1 day coming back to visit in the summer to take advantage of the pool. Thanks again, Kimberly.
The description and pictures are accurate and well represented. The deck was fantastic for views of the lake, deer, and sunrise/sunset. The yard was perfect for playing football with the kids and for our dogs to run around in. The neighborhood was perfect for daily walks/runs around the lake. The 2 story house has space for adults and kids to spread out (our kids are teenagers). The location is perfectly situated for being far enough away from the city but close enough to get anything you may need or want. It was too cold for us to use the beautiful pool (although our son jumped in anyway to experience it). The owner was very gracious and easy to work with! We highly recommend staying here!
