The villa is tucked away in a small gated development, giving a secure location, but within easy reach of the town of Lajares with it's restaurants, bars and supermarket. There is plenty of parking at the villa, with even a small garage, to keep the car out of the sun. Our car was however rather large and so this facility wasn't usable for us.
The villa is built of volcanic rock, which we found added to the feeling of being away from it all. Having said that, the villa was well equipped and perfectly suited to a couple or 3 people, if you used the sofabed. There was adequate hot water for everyday use. Due to the waste water constraints, toilet paper could not be flushed and needed to be place in a bin after use. This is a bit of a niggle, but having stayed on other properties in the area, not unusual.
The garden is laid out with cactus and succulents in the main and there is a large deep hole in the garden accessed via a series of steps. Once there you will find a table and 2 chairs, a fig tree and a barbeque. In the patio area are sunloungers, a sofa, easy chair and another table and chairs, which were ideal to sit at with your bowl of cereals and a coffee!
One feature I must mention is the toilet seat! It's bright red! I loved it, but forgot to photograph it.
At night, don't be surprised to spot a friendly gecko patroling in the kitchen.
All in all, we loved the place and will probably return sometime in the future.
