Beautiful, rustic one bedroom cabin located in acres of woods on a lively tidal salt pond. Ten minutes from cultural Blue Hill with its offerings of music, theater, dining, brew pub and art galleries. Near Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and Deer Isle. Enjoy kayaking and swimming. Please sign the liability waiver if you use our kayaks. We have a swim dock with a ladder that has a ramp from the shore. The water was in the 70's this summer. Sunsets, abundant bird life and cool ocean breezes can be appreciated from the deck, outdoor shower, fire pit, or hammock . It is quiet and peaceful!

My son and I had the best time here! We instantly felt right at home when we walked in and sitting outside will have you feeling like you stepped into a painting. Looking forward to coming back.. we already miss it!
We simply loved our fall getaway at Piney Home. The cabin is small but sufficient for two and very well equipped for guests. Conveniently located to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Lots of hiking trails in the area. Ended several nights sitting around a campfire taking in the sunset over the water.
Driving the long road to piney, we could feel the mysticism of the forest overcoming us. As we rounded the last corner, the palace of pleasure revealed itself, atop the salted water cliffs. The end
Perfect place for a private getaway. Loved the views of the salt pond, the cute little cottage with everything we could need, the outdoor shower, all of it.
Our stay at the Piney Home was exactly what was needed. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the location was perfect for us, secluded in the woods with a beautiful view of Salt pond. It was so nice to get unplugged in peace and quiet for several days.
My stay at Piney Home with my chihuahua was wonderful. Arriving the first day, the salt pond beyond the cottage nearly brought me to tears. How lucky that I got a whole week to gaze out at the fog, birds, seaweed and tidal flats fir a whole week. Lovely to be so close to the Schoodic peninsula. Wonderful tidepooling and swimming at the Blue Hill Falls bridge area. Well stocked house, simple but well curated. Thank you!
All my wife and I can say is this trip ranked at the top of our travels and the Piney Home cabin made the stay more special. The quaint cabin and extraordinary setting was just what we love. We will be back again.

Quaint lovely getaway
We really enjoyed our 5 days at Piney home. It was wonderful to look out at the pond. We only got to kayak 1 morning, but it was very nice. The cottage had everything we needed.

Perfect getaway
This cabin was definitely the highlight on our trip thru the NE. It‘s secluded in the woods directly on the shore which provides amazing sunsets. The cabin itself is so warm and comfortable with all the necessities you need. It’s just the perfect getaway!

A Wonderful Trip to Maine
We had a lovely time at the cottage. The house is a perfect cozy, calm hideaway. We loved bird watching on the coast of Maine. This is our second stay and we hope to come back again next year. Thank you to the owners for sharing this beautiful get away spot!

Wonderful Retreat! 'Basic' cabin with refined touches - the perfect balance
An outstanding balance of rustic cabin and refined personal touches. This is not for those looking for modern stays - nor for those seeking purely rustic experiences. Rather, it's somewhere in the middle with a just the right refinement for my family and I. From the long dirt road leaving civilization behind to the rock scramble down to the beach - outstanding!!!
This was our second summer at Piney Home and it was just as delightful this time around as it was the first. We had sunsets on the dock with our desert, dodged deer who wanted to cross our path, slept in well and late, and kayaked through our mornings. Thanks for making such a special place available. It's such a thoughtfully appointed, cozy spot to enjoy in the summer.
My son and I had an amazing week in Blue Hill at Piney Home. It was quiet, peaceful, and the evening sunsets were stunning. The property was extremely well appointed with kayaks and a canoe and our kind and thoughtful hosts made sure that the fridge was even partially stocked with basic supplies--milk and eggs--as well as coffee and granola so that when we arrived, we were nicely set up. I loved the daily swims and the outdoor shower, all the sweet touches.

Perfect Getaway
We decided to cancel our fancy anniversary dinner reservation within minutes of arriving at Piney Home. We knew we wanted to spend every minute possible enjoying this perfect home.
Aside from the stunning sunset and tranquil views, the home is also unbelievably private and secluded (we only saw one boat during our 5 night stay).
The highlights included the well-stocked kitchen, fire pit, exposed outdoor shower, and comfortable bed. We would not change one thing about our incredible time at Piney Home, and we're already figuring out when we can come back!
We were looking for a quiet place to rest and Piney House exceeded our expectations. The cabin is situated away from other houses so you truly feel alone. They have outfitted the cabin beautifully blending rustic charm and comfort. They really added little touches such as the heating unit in the bedroom for the one chilly day, extra blankets and throws, overhead fans, and even some binoculars. When we were ready to venture out, it was only 10-15 minute drive to delicious restaurants and groceries - Brooklin Inn is a must and the Co-op is great! We loved our stay and hope to visit again! Thank you!

Words and pictures cannot do justice.
We have stayed in many rental homes for vacations all over the US. Most of them through VRBO. And so we always anticipate the occasional surprise.
Piney Home was one (wonderful) surprise after another. From the long, windy, mile long driveway through the remote Maine woods - to the sudden appearance of both open water and a stunningly beautiful tiny cabin on the edge of it- we were pleased beyond words.
The cabin is extremely well crafted. Reclaimed wood, exposed beams and studs and scuffed hardwood floors are charmingly paired with the fluffiest towels and cozy blankets. There are games and books if you're stuck inside because of weather (although the wifi is also very good when it isn't storming) and the kitchen has everything you need to feel at home. The fresh flowers on the counter and local eggs in the fridge were the icing on the cake. We explored Acadia, Bar Harbor, Schoodic Point, Stonington and everything in between. Then we would come home to peace and quiet. The hammock overlooking the water, the kayaks and canoe, outdoor shower, the fire pit and the ample exploring right out the back door are all bonuses. This cabin is perfect for a couple looking to escape, or a small family with a child in a pack and play or one that could sleep on the couch. Note: the drop off to the water is a little steep right in front of the cabin. Keeping a close eye on toddler types would be necessary.

Our family bought this property as undeveloped land and have had fun building a quiet vacation retreat. We live year round in Blue Hill.
What makes this property unique
I think you will enjoy the water, the bird life and the quiet here. Blue Hill is popular in the summer for its vacation opportunities. Explore a National Park with hiking and biking. Take a ferry to Isle au Haut for the day.
