Perfect

A very comfortable and well equipped house on the outskirts of Burnham Market in a quiet little cul de sac, with just a 10 minute walk into the centre of the village. An excellent kitchen with spacious dining area. A real pleasure to cook and eat there. Comfortable sitting room, en suite bathrooms to the bedrooms......what more could one ask for!

Fine but not great

Owl Cottage is in a nice little spot and while it has everything you need, it definitely needs an upgrade. It is looking tired, stains on carpets, externally the windows are virtually rotting, kitchen cabinets are scruffy and the kickboards are hanging off in places. The paving slabs in the garden are uneven and the utensils look years old (colander gone rusty etc), the kitchen sink looked horrible and stained with no washing up bowl (we actually bought one and left it there). We had problems with the oven, which whilst warned of this in the brochure, really needs sorting. One of the bedrooms had no mirror for drying your hair and the lady in that room had to come and use ours for this. The garage door was very difficult to open and at one point we couldn't get the car out and almost had to ring the rental company for assistance but managed it in the end. There were quite a lot of cobwebs around so the cleanliness was not as expected, especially as you are not able to get in until 4pm due to the time needed to clean it! The en-suite bathroom in the main bedroom looks like something from the 70's - all brown tiles and a dated sink/vanity unit. I just think that for the cost of renting this place it needs to be made a bit more high end in the overall finish. The proximity to Burnham Market is excellent however, and we enjoyed our stay. We wouldn't chose to say again due to the condition of the property.

Great location and very comfortable, stylish property with lots of space.

We loved Owl Cottage and the space was fantastic for our family plus dog. All high quality furnishings, linen etc and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen diner is particularly spacious and it was lovely to have all the doors open to the garden in the good weather. The kitchen is one of the best equipped we've ever stayed in. Just a few minutes walk into Burnham Market with some great, dog friendly, pubs and restaurants.

Very nice property

A very nice base for our Norfolk holiday. We always like to be in and around Burnham Market and this place is fairly priced for being a short walk from the village centre. The kitchen area is a lovely gathering place where we made good use of the impressive games cupboard. The adjoining lounge is lovely and cosy for an evening movie. Overall a very comfortable stay and I would highly recommend it.

6/10 Okay

Great garden, but a little tired internally.

The cottage looks better in the photos. The carpets upstairs are stained and one of the showers was so poor, the couple we shared with decided to use the bathroom downstairs. The windows are permanently marked, which adds to the tired look. It’s great for kids with a great living room, and bunk beds. Fab fire which we needed in July! The garden is secure for dogs and children and a decent space; very well cared for, with a fire pit and BBQ. The kitchen was great for a decent sized group, with good facilities. We wouldn’t return to Owl cottage, it was just a lilts bit too far from the high street for us, and lacked atmosphere / quality. The bed in our double bedroom wasn’t uncomfortable.

Owl cottage

Beds in downstairs bedroom had no bedding on arrival, not ideal..this room needed to be used as we had family with accessibility issues who cannot use stairs. Bed to bed 1 was very old and creaked badly, springs coming through the mattress, very uncomfortable. Lovely garden and furniture outside

Comfortable property a short walk from town centre

A well laid out house with large kitchen diner which was very clean and comfortable for our long weekend stay. We were two couples with two dogs and never felt cramped or tripping over each other. The house is a 10 minute walk from the centre which has plenty of shops, pubs and eateries. We only had a couple of negative points: The house is in the higher price range and we felt the quality of the bedding materials let it down a bit. Please get a new vacuum cleaner, the one we used didn't pick anything up. Overall though a very pleasant stay.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful home

I booked the house for a birthday weekend and it was perfect. We had a baby with us and although the travel cot in the house turned out to be broken a new one was deliberated within the hour. The house was lovely and cosy with all the amenities and a short walk from town. We booked a chef to come in a cook a birthday dinner one night and the house was beautifully set up for it. Highly recommend this property and thank you very much

Great location, and ground floor and garden

Modern spacious house with great family space inside and out especially the downstairs and garden. Ideal location for the best of norfolks beaches and pubs. Brilliant for the dogs with a secure garden. Recommended and very likely will be returning next year.

One of the best places we have stayed at.

We had such a perfect week weather wise. Fab location. Could have done with some relaxing deck chairs as such a sunny garden but the house was perfect. Few problems but hopefully these were restored on our departure. Would love to visit again soon.
