About this property

The Old Post Office and Farmhouse

This Georgian farmhouse and cottage has been lovingly restored and has charm and character. If you want something different, a spacious home in which to relax and enjoy tasteful surroundings, then this is ideal for you. Located close to the A1 which runs between Belfast (25 mins away) and Dublin (75 mins to the airport) and a few miles from the historic village of Hillsborough. Also, the Eikon Exhibition Centre and The Balmoral Show are only 7 miles from here!
This house has been tastefully decorated throughout to a high standard. Those willing to take care of my family home and leave it as they found it are very welcome to come stay and enjoy the surroundings which includes landscaped gardens.

There is plenty of room for parking at the front and side of the house.
You will access to the entire house except one reception room and an office. You will want to spend time in the kitchen, the heart of the house. In cooler weather the AGA will be on providing lots of warmth and loads of hot water. In warmer weather it is turned off, in which case there is an additional cooker in the utility room. You'll also enjoy the sun room, my pride and joy, which leads onto the landscaped (south facing) gardens, which you are welcome to use weather permitting, including use of the barbecue.

You are asked not to use the tumbler dryer in the utility room - it isn't working. Rather there is an airer above the AGA and a clothes line outside.
This is a central location and so a good base for almost anything.
Located in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains. Within only a few miles from here you can enjoy walking in this stunning area of natural beauty.
Some guests travel to Belfast and take bus tours from there, to the Giants Causeway for example - one of the wonders of the world. Well worth a visit.
If golfing is your thing, there are many golf clubs within easy distance and a host more within 30 - 45 minutes from here. As a keen golfer I can keep you right on how to ruin a good walk!
Plenty of shopping nearby at Sprucefield if that is your thing.
There are some lovely restaurants near by - Plough and Hillside in Hillsborough. And Boyles in Dromore. At weekends it would be wise to book. Otherwise there are plenty of places to buy carry out in either village.
