Welcome to this easy-going beachside home! Located in Pirates Beach Subdivision, this 1240 sq ft home is just a short walk to the beach for hours of fun in the sun! With its comfortable furnishings, and breezy island style, you’ll feel right at home and away from it all, at the same time.

Family gatherings are more fun at Island Breeze. The upstairs features a large, partially covered deck, a great spot to sip your morning cup of coffee, relax in the shade or lounge in the sun. Then grab your favorite beverage and head downstairs where there are two wooden swings and deck chairs to enjoy the cool Gulf breezes. The downstairs shaded area is also ideal for family barbecues and cookouts, with tables, chairs and a big barbecue grill. The large open concept living room, dining and kitchen are a great way to keep the family together while preparing or eating meals. The living area has a big screen TV with DirectTV and Blue ray/DVD player.

For your entertainment, you’ll also find included (at no extra charge)when you stay here: 4 adult cruiser bikes and 2 children’s bikes, along with boogie boards, coolers and even beach toys for the kids. For families travelling with young children, we also provide a Pack and Play, high chair and booster seat on premises.

Island Breeze features tropical landscaping, with flowering hibiscus and palm trees that set the mood for your island getaway.

Dogs are welcome with a limit of two (2) dogs with a combined weight limit of 50 lbs and require an additional $100 non-refundable fee per pet.

Ground Level: Parking for 4 vehicles; No Garage Access; Picnic table, Swings and chairs; Outdoor Shower.

Main Level: Open concept living room, dining and kitchen. Master Bedroom has a Queen bed. Bedroom 2 has a Queen Bed. Hallway bathroom; Bedroom 3 with a Pyramid Bunk and Twin Trundle and a Single Twin Bed. Large deck partially covered.

Location: 5 minutes to the beach; 9 mile drive to 61st Street; 12 mile drive to 25th & Strand; 8.1 miles to Moody Gardens/Schlitterbahn Waterpark.

Although provided, WiFi access/Cable/Dish service can be unreliable here on the West End of Galveston Island. We apologize, but Gary Greene Vacation Rentals is unable to guarantee these amenities will be working during your stay and is unable to offer refunds for disruption of these services.

Great location for family

We had an excellent stay! Perfect house for small family. Nice bathrooms and kitchen and a short walk to the beach that was not too crowded. Property management communicated well and maintain the property nicely. Biggest complaint (and it’s minor) is there were no extra trash bags other than the 1 left by the management group and no bags in the bathroom trash cans. Also none of the guest beds had any sheets put on them already so I had to make the beds needed when we arrived after a long travel day. Overall I’d recommend and would love to stay here again if we return to Galveston.

Relaxing, enjoyable stay

Island Breeze is a very comfortable, welcoming house with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with good cookware, cooking utensils, appliances and accessories. The deck has comfortable furnishings, although there is not even a sliver of a view of the Gulf. However, it is a very short walk to the beach. The ground floor/carport area has two nice swings, a grill area and bikes in the garage for guest use. Our family of 4 had a most enjoyable, relaxing stay.

Great time at the beach

What a great spot for the family to get together. The house is just as advertised easy to find and the beach is right there. We ate at a little local pizza place that was family friendly also. Grilling in the evening as the swings kept the kids rocking. Thank you for having the family get together at your place.

Great stay!

This property is in such a nice neighbord, well kept and stocked with almost everything you need. The DVD player doesn't work, so it would be nice to have it fixed. It is about 3 blocks from the beach, so not a bad walk. We have smaller children so some distance from the water was okay with us. We thought a golf cart would have been nice but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. They did have a wagon, so that helped. Several bikes in the garage that the bigger kids rode to the beach. All kinds of beach toys to use, including boogie boards. Love the swings, tables grills and games on the bottom level. There was a loose spindle on the staircase that a little one could fall through, but we called management and they plan to repair it. They were very nice. The house inside is very nice and feels roomier than the square footage because the layout is good. The kids loved the bunkbeds but you do have to make them up yourself upon arrival. The kitchen has everything you need. The upper porch is nice but fans would nice. Overall great stay. Thanks for sharing your property.

Very close to beach and in a nice neighborhood. Like being a distance from the seawall.

The rental is great and can accommodate a large group well. We were only 3 people and each had a separate bedroom.

Island Breeze

Beautiful property! Great location for a quick walk to Pirate Beach! Location is great very close to grocery stores and Restaurants. The only negative was wish we would have know to bring toiletries such as toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags. We also did have an issue with the bedroom TVs being set with a parental block we couldn’t even watch the news. It was a little frustrating and we never got it resolved per Direct TV only the owner could resolve this. We would however recommend this property and will use again!

Island Breeze

The Island Breeze was a nice little getaway for our family of five. It was quaint and cute. Pretty clean. Definitely bring laundry soap, toilet paper, paper plates/plastic utensils/cups, paper towels, etc. The beach is just a short walk and if there's parking available, you can drive to it. Husband said the grill could be updated as it was pretty janky. The only thing that I really didn't like was that you aren't allowed to have anyone over for any reason. We have family in the area and it would have been nice to have them over for dinner one night and grill out and for my kids to see their cousins. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

Island breeze is GREAT!

This was our first time renting a house in Galveston and it exceeded all our expectations and more! Very nice house with all the amenities you need for a relaxing and fun family vacation ! Clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the beach area wich was also a very nice spot! Definitely will be going again next year and more years to come.

Just what we wanted

Pirate's Beach was perfect for what we wanted. The house was an easy stroll to the beach and the beach was much nicer than I expected. We'd planned to go to Stewart Beach, but after seeing the beach right there by the house, we decided to stay right there by the house. This neighborhood is far enough from the hussle and bussle of the sea wall to relax, but close enough to get to all attractions within a brief drive. Everything was clean and just what we expected. The only things we would have changed would have been to have a slightly larger bed in the master (it was a full) and there was a loose step on the stairs in need of repair. Other than that, it was perfect!

Location and property were wonderful. Check-in and check-out was effortless. This beautiful home had everything we needed and plenty of extras. The garage held so many toys, bikes, chairs...you name it. We brought so much from home that was already supplied here. We all had a fabulous stay and will definitely stay again!

Island Breeze adequately accommodated my family. The older age of the home affected my sense of cleanliness of it (i.e. the tub in the shower has chips, the rubber drain plug was moldy, a couple of the small kitchen appliances were faulty (electric hand mixer didn't work and expresso machine leaked water all over the kitchen counter). The property manager is serious in the description about providing little to no daily supplies. You'll need to shop for/bring your own soaps, trash bags, toilet paper, etc. The kitchen is well equipped with cookware, utensils, dishes, and food storage containers. Use of the beach toys was super great for the 4 year old and the radio flyer wagon made getting him and the toys to the beach a breeze. We were disappointed that the bikes that are available for guest use have been abused to the point that most are not functional. Checkout is promptly at 10:00am. The cleaner was parked on the street waiting for us to leave on the day of departure.

Our home away from home

We love island breeze! We have been coming here every year since we moved to Texas in 2017. It’s cozy, clean and feels like a home away from home. We love the location and they have lots of beach toys for the kids :) Already looking forward to coming back next year!

Nice family beach house

House was clean and spacious. Lots of kitchen amenities supplied. Lived the top and bottom outdoor spaces. Beach is close by, convenience store close by. It sleeps ten as advertised, however two are on the couches. Not a big deal. It was a good value and pleasant stay. We will be back next year. Thanks.

Nicely appointed family beach house

Great experience. Very clean with a nicely equipped kitchen, games and puzzles, and bikes / fishing kit in the garage. The room layout and provided extras would work well for families with smaller kids.

Great trip for the family!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. We have 3 young children and my mother in law came with. The house was great! The house was clean. The layout worked very well for us. I loved that you could close off the bedroom area so we didn’t wake kids at night. The master bdrm only has a full size bed which was a bit of an adjustment from our king size at home but it was very doable. The upper deck was the best part- coffee in the morning- just walk outside and relax on the comfy patio furniture. The house itself was more stocked than I had expected which was a nice surprise. The proximity to the beach was great. A very easy 5ish minute walk. The beach itself was fabulous! It went as far as you could see in both directions! The only negative which isn’t really a negative since it is an extra perk, is that the bikes are in really rough shape. We utilized the wagon and scooter quite a bit though. Overall we all really enjoyed our stay and would 100% stay here again.

Thanksgiving at the Beach

The house worked very well for us for a family get together in a nice location near the beach, Gulf side. We had 9 overnighters for 4 nights plus 6 more family who came just for Thanksgiving Day. Ages ranged from 79 to 2 years. Kitchen was well equipped with cooking supplies, dishes and amenities. The appliances, including the washer dryer, were all very good. We were able to seat all 15 for Thanksgiving using both the covered porch and the inside dining table. To avoid the hassle and cleanup, we did not build a fire, although it was cold enough to warrant one. The walk to the beach is not quick but it is very manageable, especially using the wagon we found in the garage. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay in all respects. We would note that it is billed as sleeping 10 but it would be more accurate to say sleeping for 9, which was just right for us. As a private note to the owners: - The roof of the covered porch has so little overhang that any rain runoff (it rained quite a bit during our stay) lands on the handrail and splatters everywhere, well into the porch and its occupants making most of the porch unusable during a rain, even a mild one. A piece of straight gutter on the eave of this roof would completely solve this problem. - The upper two "spice shelves" in the kitchen, which are loaded with jars, are pulling away from the wall (sloping) so much that the jars are barely staying on them. It would only take a slightly careless Tennant to bring them crashing down or at least cause a shelf full of bottles to slide off onto the floor. - The full size mattress of the lower bed in the middle bedroom (sleeps two) is so compressed in the middle that two people have trouble sleeping there. Time for a new mattress there. The other beds were fine. Everything else about the house was fine. Thank you.
