Home features an impressive display of taxidermy. Great location on a small lake. We stayed here over the Winter holidays. On well water. We drank boytled.
The property location is absolutely breathtaking both morning and night. The views from the porch, dock and fire pit were impossible to beat. We spent the majority of our time outside as it was absolutely tranquil.
We had a wonderful time at this house. My husband and daughter enjoyed fishing off the pier, as well as, being able to sit out by fire late at night catching up on old times. We really enjoyed it.!!!
We rented cabin for a month. This owner found out we were bringing our jet ski and so he procured a jet ski lift for us and installed it on his beach. Can not say enough about the lake, the dock and the property overall. Very nice up north MI cabin on a lake. PRIVATE All sports lake with very little traffic.
If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it. The cabin is fun with all the animals. The lake is small, but great for fishing, kayaking and a SUP! The sunsets are beautiful. We spent most of our time outside. The sand by the lake is a great touch and nice at night to sit by the fire pit and have your toes in the sand!!! Roger was great and even stopped by with some fire wood!
We had a wonderful time! The water was phenomenal for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boating! We had a wonderful fire and we’re able to grill the awesome blue gill. Roger, the landlord was awesome to work with!
It was perfect for us. Low key, enough of everything. Good communication with host. Access to water, boats, sand, fishing, and stores. Kids and adults enjoyed our stay.
This is a beautiful place, very relaxing, if you are into the cabin feel and amazing taxidermy, I really recommend this place, was just what I was looking for! 5 out of 5 stars for sure. And communication was great thank you. We will definitely be coming back.
It's an older property, but perfect for a weekend getaway. We came in for a wedding and it was nice to relax after the festivities. The kids enjoyed the kayaks in the evening. The fire pit is perfect and the host is very communicative. All's you have to is ask and he will answer your questions. Lots of taxidermy, made me smile.
The taxidermy animals give the whole place a fun vibe, you can’t stop giggling and talking about them. It’s like getting to camp out with bears! My kids got a complete kick out of the animals.
Roger had great communication with us and is very friendly.
The rooms and beds are comfortable. I cooked meals on the grill and in the kitchen.
We brought a small boat and was able to launch it two driveways away. Very limited parking if you have boat trailer and car, but luckily we just fit perfect.
The lake is so quiet, I didn’t have to worry about just letting my kids go out for a long kayak ride. I would return for sure.
Totally functional property. It is what you would expect a typical lake/hunting cottage would be. Nothing fancy. A lot of outdated items (like the TV). Lots of cool taxidermy. The wifi had no internet, but we had good cellular coverage on our phones so we did not bother trying to contact the host for resolution. The hard water is rusting out the faucets and shower head which could be replaced for a cheap upgrade. It is also hard to find places to plug your devices in at various places around the house. Maybe a few power strips would help. Also, while we only had one car, if there is a group staying with two cars... good luck finding another spot. I am giving this place 5 stars overall because it suiting our needs and I would stay there again.
We had such a wonderful stay. The cabin was cozy and well supplied & the owner's son even came out on Sunday to deliver wood for the fire pit. Just a really great time had by all. Thank you Roger for sharing such great property!
We have rented this place quite a few times and it has never been a disappointment! The view is beautiful, the fishing is awesome, and the way the yard is set up really lends itself to a nice barbecue, fire , playing on the "beach" (grandkids) or just relaxing.. we will definitely be back!
This home was the perfect lake getaway!! The sandy beach is super soft and the water is amazing! My boys absolutely loved the paddle boat and kayaks. Fishing was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend staying here!!
In the area to attend a funeral and found this to be the perfect place to relax after each days events. Very quiet lake even on the Saturday we were there. Fished off the dock for a couple hours and released a couple bass and a few decent panfish. Property was listed accurately. Rustic fishing/hunting cottage feel. No surprises and host was very responsive to texts. No a/c or WiFi was available but that wasn't an issue for us, but might be for some. Beds leaned towards the firmer side.
This was a great little getaway. Roger was a good host and easy to get in contact with. There were local things to do and the cabin was cozy. The community and neighborhood were friendly.
We had a wonderful time at this cottage. The lake is beautiful, not a very big lake but it was great for fishing, kayaking and paddle boating. The neighbors were friendly. They had everything you would need to stay for a long weekend or longer. Communication with the owner was very easy and he answered any questions in a tiny manner. The owners son was very helpful too.
Had a great time, water was shallow so great for the kids, we all enjoyed fishing off the dock. We will return!!

Nice property, fristrating check in
House was fine. No contact from vrbo or host at check in time. Had to call and wait to gain access to the property almost an hour after check in time. Cleaner was however there 5 minutes before check out waiting for us to leave. No instructions inside the property as far as any contact information, preferences of the host etc.
The owner thought of everything outside. Sand pit, fire pit with wood, lots of patio chairs and tables, gas grill, nice dock, kayaks,
paddleboat and a line on the clothesline to attach our dog so she wouldn't wander. Quiet lake and wonderful sunsets! We made do with the one bathroom. Stairs to loft are very steep, but kids loved them. Comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. Lots of room in kitchen to cook, Grocery stores nearby as well.
Roger was a great host and we had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Will return!
