Fabulous, spacious villa in a great location

Great villa, very spacious and fabulous views over Gros Islet. Pool is bigger than in the pics and much needed when it's very hot. The host (Greg) is really helpful and friendly and has been quick on communication from the start. Will definitely stay here again if we return!

Wonderful Property

Our first trip to St. Lucia and didn't have a clue of where to stay. Knowing we didn't want to stay at a resort, we lucked up when we found Sun West Villas. It was the perfect location. Situated less than two minutes off the main road in Rodney Bay across from the Harbor Club, you are close to a wide variety of restaurants and other activities but far enough you don't hear the hustle and bustle of the area. There are sliding glass doors that span the living and dining rooms to open up allowing the breeze to flow in from a large deck where we sat to enjoy the morning looking at the Carribean Sea and then again in the evening to watch the sun set before taking a refreshing dip in the pool. Greg is a wonderful host who was very attentive to our needs. He has lived on the island for many years so knows his way around. A very wise man that cares about the guests that stay there. If we find ourselves visiting St. Lucia again, this is the place for us.

Great location

Overall great location and nice property. Walking distance to Rodney Bay Marina. However, there were very little amenities on the property itself (towels, soap, pots/pans, shampoo etc.). Couple important notes: there is no barbecue, no lounge chairs by the pool and you need to bring your own beach towels. The listing needs to be updated with accurate information - we had no cell phone provided and communication with the owner (Greg) was inconsistent. Although driving is provided, it is provided with a fee so please be aware. This includes to/from the airport, which we were unaware of. Owner did provide the free 1 way shuttle to the local beaches. He had an array of knowledge on the area that he was willing to share. Must do: Visit Chef Robbie's down the street! They have wonderful food and a great local atmosphere.

WOW, Superbe villa avec 4 chambres 4 salle de bain et air climatisée centrale dans chaque chambre. La villa était super propre et toute équipé. Très grande piscine et la vue des balcons ou de la piscine est splendide. Gregg est fantasique, vous ne louez pas seulement une villa, mais vous avez aussi un guide et un ami qui peut vous aider tout au long du voyage. Nous aurions pas eu le même voyage sans Gregg, il nous a montré plein d'endroit ou nous serions jamais allez. Il est toujours disponible pour aider, tout en nous laissant notre intimité. Il nous prête même un cellulaire. Il nous a prêter des tuba, une glacière et des serviettes de plage. Il connait plein de gens sur l'ile et il sait comment vous faire économiser de l'argent. Si vous voulez louez une voiture il connait une compagnie économique. La villa est très bien situé, en retrait sur une montagne avec une vue à couper le souffle, il y a une épicerie et un centre d'achat et plusieurs restaurant à moins de 5 minutes. Nous étions 4 adultes et 3 enfants et il y avait amplement de la place pour d'autres personnes dans la villa. Merci beaucoup Gregg pour cette fabuleuse semaine.

Great moments in St Lucia

We were 4 couples in the villa. We all have one room and bathroom. The villa was great with all the equipment we needed. Greg the owner is very friendly. He made us visit what was interesting and showed us beautiful view points around the villa. He also recommand us good restaurants. He cares about their guests wellness.

Coyaba Grand Sunwest Villas

Coyaba Grand is a stunning villa and was spotlessly clean on arrival. Martha the cleaner came every few days and was excellent. Our only issue was the lack of air conditioning in the living area and top floor bedroom, and solely because of this we would not return to this particular villa in the future. A few basics such as bedside lamps, hairdryers in each room and a general updating of kitchen equipment would not go amiss. However, Greg the owner is a fantastic host and his knowledge of the island is second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and he was always very willing to assist us in anyway he could, including a trip to the medical centre. We would recommend the property if you are not concerned about the air conditioning. There are lots of activities on the island and we particularly enjoyed the segway tour and treetop zip lining, our visit to La Tille Waterfalls, the drive in volcano at Sulphur Springs and the beaches at Pigeon Island and Reduit. We had a fantastic, but very expensive meal at Big Chef Steakhouse and a more reasonably priced, early bird special at the Fire Grill which was also very good. At Rodney Bay Marina, Ocean Club is very good and Roti at the Bread Basket is excellent and very cheap!

Home Away From Home...

As we all know when vacationing in a foreign country or just out of town, it's hard to decide where you will stay based on pictures from the resort's website. Well, have no fear... what you see here, is what you get! An awesome, clean place to stay that's only minutes away from action, but secluded enough to relax without the hustle and bustle of the city. I would recommend this location for all vacationers and stay-cationers too! Greg goes out of his way to be sure you are comfortable, happy, and making the most out of your time while on the island. Just when you thought you had done it all, he has something or somewhere to share... During our stay, we resided in the “Coyaba Grand” which afforded us enough space, privacy, and family time all in one. The selection was well worth it! Thanks Greg for a wonderful stay and we will see you again on our next trip to SLU in 2013!

Loved our stay at Coyaba Grand!

My family and extended family and friends vacationed in St. Lucia due to my niece’s wedding at Pigeon Island. SunWest Villa was better than the pictures/ The Coyaba Grand was sparkling clean, with a huge kitchen, dining room, living area, and outdoor patios to watch sunsets. The view is breathtaking and absolutely gorgeous. Flowers were in bloom everywhere and the pool was sparkling clean. What really made our trip special besides of all the "sites" was the hospitality of Greg. He took us on a tour of the island and told us where to eat, what to see. He didn't stir us wrong on any of his suggestions. One day I was left behind due to getting motion sickness and not handling the curves too well, so while floating in the pool Greg asked if I was up for a tour. He said, "Do you trust me" (knowing how I felt about diving on curves, well I did and I was one of those fortunate people who got to spend time seeing sites with Greg that I never would have experienced had I visited the Pitons with the rest of my family. Greg personally took me on a tour to a banana plantation and we got to raid some fruit and I got to see up close and experience what most tourists do not get to experience ever. Greg was kind enough to show me the lighthouse, the town of Castries, the Governor's house, and we stopped at the best bakery ever along the plantations. Greg is a very kind and generous man full of wit, intelligence of the island (the man is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge of St. Lucia) and just very generous and accommodating to make sure we were all comfortable. We never wanted for anything while staying there. I will miss talking to Greg and hearing all his funny stories. Greg always has a story to tell! The bride and groom were very disappointed with Sandals and said if they had to do over again they would have definitely stayed at Casaba Grand instead. Don't miss eating at the small eatery at Pigeon Island. Good local food. If you like Tandoori food, you must eat at Razmataz. Absolutely wonderful food. We plan on coming back over and over again and will absolutely stay at SunWest Villa. Greg makes it so very special...You just can't get that kind of service anywhere. Greg really cares about his guests and wants them to experience all that St. Lucia offers. Thanks Greg for the best time ever!

Wish I was still in the pool!

Greg has put his heart and soul into Sunwest villas and it shows. He was very flexible to our group of 8's ever-changing needs. He gave us an extremely informative tour of the north of the island and ferried us around as much as any 'dad's taxi' could until sundown. After that I'd definitely recommend taking a taxi to your choice of restaurant (we particularly enjoyed the live band and succulent fish kebabs at Ti Bananne) Personally, I loved lazing in and around the pool; the lads enjoyed chilling out in front of the TV in the spacious lounge and the girls found everything they needed in the fully-equipped kitchen when we decided to eat in. The view of the sunset over Rodney Bay is definitely photo-worthy and lovely to watch from the huge balcony or (my personal favourite viewpoint) from the chaise-longue in the second floor bedroom.

Fantastic Holiday

Many thanks to Greg for making our stay in Saint Lucia a wonderful experience. Our accommodations were great and felt just like "home" away from home. Greg's orientation enabled us to jump into island life immediately so no precious holiday time was lost. Greg was always there to help and advise us. Home away from Home

We stayed at Coyaba Grand just before Christmas 2010. The accommodation is luxurious with everything you could possibly need. The views of the bay and marina were fantastic and the balcony a great place to watch the sunsets. The villa is spacious and great for families with a wonderful pool below. Greg was a wonderful host - full of information about the island and the orientation tour is a must when he shows you all the places to eat and best beaches etc. Martha the housekeeper was great and kept the villa beautifully clean. From start to finish it was the easiest hoilday we have booked. Thanks Greg!

The place to be

We (two adults, two kids) stayed at the Coyaba Grand for a week in November. Difficult to express how absolutely great our holiday was, where is the sixth star??? On arrival in St. Lucia, we were told that Rodney Bay cannot be reached by car (due to some remaining destructions of Hurrican "Thomas"), but the owner managed to get us to the place in time by providing a 4WD. From the very first minute on, our host Greg made us feel like home. He is very helpful and friendly, even though we only stayed for a week, it feels like a deep friendship. He took us on an orientation tour the next morning, that was very helpful for us. Also, we got all information necessary and saw places, we had never seen as an "ordinary" tourist. The house was in a very good condition, clean and very well equipped. The description is accurate and doesn't lack anyting. Guests are provided with their personal cell-phone, so you can call the host if you need anything. Very helpful and easy for us. A free pick-up-service is also provided. So, everytime during the day Greg picks ypu up from any beach, attraction, restaurant, supermarket etc. Very reliable. We used the pool every day. It is cleaned regularly, and especially the kids spent hours in there. The public water supply was interrupted during our stay due to the Hurrican, but we had fresh-water throughout the time since the owner organised private supply. The Rodney Bay area itself is a good place for nightlife and eating out. There are several supermarkets and grocery stores, so you can get everything in the vicinity. We also did a boat tour (can be organised by the owner), highly recommandable. Also went to Pigeon Island, it's worth a half-day-tour, since the beaches over there are not in a fantastic condition. We also tried the local buses. Easy to handle, cheap and fast.Go for it. To sum up: This accomodation is the place to be. Only good things to report.

Family stay at Coyaba Grand August 2010

I stayed at the Coyaba Grand for 10 days in August 2010, I was holidaying in St. Lucia for the first time with my wife and 2 children (aged 14 and 17). On arrival we met up with our 'host' Greg who made us feel very welcome and showed us around the fantastic villa. Within 10 minutes the kids had aquainted themselves with the perfectly located swimming pool! The next morning Greg took us on an 'orientation' tour of the local area which we found extremely useful, he pointed out the best restaurants, beaches, shops and places of interest. He also showed us where Amy Winehouse stayed when visiting the area and also the Rehab Bar named in Amy's honour! I had been communicating with Greg via email and phone regularly during the months leading up to our holiday. He was really helpful in helping us organise car rental and trips such as a helicopter tour of the South Island. The Coyaba Grand is immaculately kept and everything is spotlessly clean, the kitchen cupboards are well stocked with everything required for dining in. here was also a nice welcoming vase of local flowers to keep my wife happy whilst the TV and hi-fi kept the kids amused. The villa was also equipped with a mobile phone for our own personal use and wi-fi facilities. Martha the cleaner was very friendly and helped create a homely atmosphere. The pool and surroundings are fantastic with bananas growing freely amongst the tropical plants and trees, the children were also fascinated by the hummingbird nest (complete with eggs) alongside the pool steps. We all really enjoyed our stay in St. Lucia, my wife and I particularly liked out day trip to Martinique whilst the kids loved the helicopter trip and the Treetops Rain Forest zip-wire adventure. A great night out was had in local Gros Inlet where everyone parties in the street at the Friday night 'Jump-Up' We had a lovely day out on Pigeon Island where there is a great beach and a fantastic little pub! The local beaches were all excellent and hassle-free. There are several beaches within a few minutes drive (Smugglers Cove was our favourite) and a shopping mall literally just down the road. Our daily chats with Greg by the pool certainly helped make our holiday one of the best ever. I would highly recommend the Coyaba Grand to any family who are considering a holday in St.Lucia.

Paradise Found!

Our party of 6 was in St.Lucia for the Cricket World Cup. Coyaba Grand accomodated us easily. The view from the 2 balconies was spectacular and the pool was a refreshing alternative to the beautiful nearby (5 minutes) beaches and Rodney Bay Village. The house itself was beautiful and of very high quality, with every convenience. The owner, Greg, was the icing on the cake. Greg gave us an orientation tour of surrounding areas and was always available to give us a ride to the grocery, or to and from the cricket field shuttle area. He would even have to make 2 trips each time because of the number of us. Best of all, Greg is a very friendly guy with whom we all immediately felt comfortable. We enjoyed his company tremendously. Greg helped arrange a tour of the island for us with a tour guide, Stormy Norman. Stormy was a welath of island current and historical knowledge. He was also a very friendly guy who went out of his way to be helpful. We felt very safe and comfortable with Stormy. One of us forgot a bag in the waiting area at the airport and when we got to Barbados we called Stormy. Withing 10 mins of our call, Stormy called us back to let us know he had secured the bag and we made arrangements for him to forward it to us. The beauty of St. Lucia shone brightly through both Greg and Stormy. We are already planning to visit again soon and we will definitely stay at the Coyaba Grand. It was hard saying goodbye to Greg, but we look forward to seeing him again soon!!

Home from home

Seven members of my family (three generations) stayed in the Grand Coyaba villa in August 2009 in complete comfort. Even though it was a very hot time of year, the bedrooms were comfortable with the air conditioning and the fans in the main rooms made the evenings much more bearable. The pool was lovely, with beautiful views out over Rodney bay, and it had a special shallow seated area for us non-swimmers! Greg the owner greeted us on our first day with a lovely bunch of flowers which lasted the entire two weeks. Both he and his son Matthew were more than helpful with information and ideas (such as organising for a scuba demonstration in our own pool to help us decide whether to book a full trip) and Martha the housekeeper couldn’t do enough for us. I would also recommend future visitors to take up Greg’s offer of the “Local Orientation Tour” even though it may be your first morning there. It is well worth it, even for previous visitors. The villas are in a quieter location up a nearby hill (which gives you those stunning views) which means you do need transportation; however Greg and Matthew were more than happy to run us the short distance down to the beach or shopping area during the day. In the evening we found a wonderful taxi driver called Peter ( tel 4877581) who took us everywhere for two weeks - including an island tour which was very enjoyable and very comfortable. We’ve been to St Lucia many times before and already love the island, but this was undoubtedly one of our best trips. Try both the island and the villas – you won’t be disappointed!

My R&R from IRAQ

I am a SGT in the US Army and I have been around Europe, the States, and several other countries. I have met a lot of people from many different backgrounds, nationalities, and personalities. This island is full of great relaxing people and is for those seeking fun and relaxation. The owner, Greg, is good with people, open-minded, and takes care of those staying on his property. He is absolutely professional as well as personable. He will go out of his way when necessary! I and two of my very good friends stayed in the 4 bedroom villas each enjoying our own floor. Each room has its own bathroom, which is excellent for us because we share a bathroom with 50 - 100 other soldiers. Having one's own space is a very nice treat. The rooms have great big beds and are comfortable. The view is magazine cover worthy. Greg introduces you to the area and shows you where to go for various activities and great restaurants for meat eaters, pasta eaters, and vegetarians. The fruit there is the best I have every eaten. Better than Kuwait, Iraq, US, ALL of Europe! After staying here you might not want to leave. I and my comrades did not want to leave to go back to Iraq. All three of us got our scuba certification, went zip lining, and took a boat ride to Martinique. These trips can be set up with someone Greg knows. Everything is at your finger tips because Greg has a great system. Also the golf course is wonderful!! Take advantage of your free time by going to St. Lucia and staying in a place just outside of the "touristy" locations. Enjoy the island from a view which will embed itself in your memory. I will be going back and want to visit Pigeon Island again. This is full of military history...see for yourself. This is a great location for the family, single guys, adventurous divers and climbers, or for anyone. If you get the chance seize it!!!!!!
