This is an amazing property! A soon as you step inside it’s like being welcomed into someone’s beautiful home. Every detail has been taken care of, the casita is stunningly appointed. It truly must be one of Merida’s most beautiful residences. The front living room has the most comfortable furniture. Do yourself a favor and put a Czerny piano concerto on the speakers, pour yourself a glass of wine, curl up with a good book (the library is extraordinary) and enjoy the perfect acoustics.Lemeau is the consummate hostess. (You just know she must throw marvelous parties). If you get a chance to meet her, you’ll find her fascinating, she’s quite the raconteuse. The property couldn’t be more conveniently located. There’s so much to see and do within a short walk. We absolutely loved staying here!
We had a very enjoyable time staying at Lemeau’s stunning colonial house in central Merida. Lush palms, beautiful tiles, Warm and cozy couches, chairs, beds, morning coffee on a roof-top terrace, spending time chillin and enjoying bebidas in a spacious pool area, great location, close to the restaurants of Calle 47, Parque Santa Lucia, a great artisanal bakery called Soco Merida etc. The best thing about staying at Lemeau’s place is Lemeau herself. She is an excellent host and was very attentive to our needs.
Impressive! A treat to stay here for 10 days in February.
This is simply the nicest VRBO of the 20+ I’ve stayed in: spacious, gracious, beautifully furnished with a very well-equipped kitchen. Responsive host. Pleasant rooftop terrace. Restaurants a few blocks away on a new corredor gastronómico.
Casa is on a one-way street used by 4-5 bus lines, so frequent whooshing from passing buses. And no food shopping in easy walking distance. But ample free parking in the street.
What a fabulous place. Lemeau is a great hostess and we enjoyed chatting with her. It is truly a remarkable place. The photos don’t do it justice. It has fabulous decor.
It’s a good location. One of the best apts we have rented.
Book it!
The property was lovely with lush gardens, fountains, pools and roof top terraces. It was within walking distance of the main plazas and many restaurants. The owner gave us a warm welcome that included a bottle of wine:).The owner and the staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs.
We loved our stay at Casa Lemeau! The pictures are accurate as was the description. Lemeau couldn't have been more helpful, suggesting restaurants and places of interest., and ensuring we were comfortable.
The property is stunning and has private outdoor areas. The pool was a welcome respite from sightseeing. The location was really handy for exploring the historical center and Paseo de Montejo. We walked most of the time but taxi's are incredibly reasonable.
We did 3 trips with Lemeau's driver Juan and were thrilled. He is delightful and he arranged very knowledgeable guides at the locations.
We would have appreciated satelliteTV. Netflix was available but only in Spanish. There is an extensive library though.
We highly recommend Merida and Casa Lemeau.
We loved staying here for our week in Mérida & could not have imagined better accommodation and location. The owner has created a magical and peaceful world behind the walls. Our apartment was huge and high ceilinged, 3 floors including the rooftop terrace - and beautifully decorated, not at all a bare-bones STVR. We never used the AC as the ceiling fans and shaded courtyards kept us very comfortable. The beautiful courtyards and extensive walled garden where we were welcome to sit was an absolute delight. If you love gardens you will adore this place. And the shared plunge pool terrace on the roof was a welcome respite after walking the streets. The apt we stayed in (there are 2) would not be suitable accommodation if you struggle with stairs - the kitchen/dining area & second bathroom are on the second level from the bedroom, living room & main bathroom but we liked the multi-level aspect of it. We liked the fact that we were on a residential street somewhat away from the centre of town but we walked everywhere. The owner and creator of this paradise lives on-site and was very kind and helpful. We used the services of her driver to pick us up for the long drive from the Cancun airport as our flight arrived too late for the last ADO bus. He is a lovely gentleman, and an excellent & careful driver which was a relief to me as our drive from Cancun was at night. We used him again to take us to a Mayan ruin site outside town. He is very reasonable. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive we understand so could be used to shop for groceries as there are no close food markets, though some small shops. We did a big shop for groceries at the northern end of the Paseo. But there are lots of restaurants and a wonderful breakfast/bakery place, Soco close by. All in all, our strongest recommendation for a place that will truly make your stay in Mérida special.
Cozy place with pros and cons. Value/money and privacy could be improved!
Pros:
- Very good location and quiet.
- Very nicely decorated with a private rooftop terrace (and shared mini swimming pool).
- The host is responsive when asked questions and gives recommendation if you ask. Rosalba (the property manager) is helpful, speaks English and uses WhatsApp.
Cons:
- Parking is on the street (so no parking).
- Bedsheets and towels have multiple stains and are old.
- Kitchen utensils are old. Fine for breakfast but no more.
- It lacks privacy. The duplex is part of the hosts house so it can feel like you’re a paying guest a bit and tiptoeing around even if Lemeau makes people very at ease.
This property is a gem in the El Centro area - and was simply fantastic! It is EXACTLY as shown but it is hard for pictures to convey how simply comfortable it is. So easy to feel at home. And what can I say about Lemeau? She is an absolute treasure. We will definitely be back!
Overall we had a wonderful stay at Casa Lemeau. Lemeau is a wonderful host and asked us many times how we were doing. The house is gorgeous and provided us a great place to live and work during our extended time in Merida.
However, there were two things we wish we had known before our stay... This is a property that has workers frequently around. There is a gardener who will come around the property every other day and will be on your rooftop terrace. Also, while we were there there were workers working on the house that we were not informed about. Luckily, the part of the casita you're staying in is locked and you will have your own key but coming home to multiple days having the front door wide open was a bit unsettling. We know that sometimes unexpected issues happen with a house and it was not a big deal but we wish the host had mentioned this to us over a VRBO message at least. The other thing we wish we had known was that there are no blackout curtains in the bedroom and the light from the shared courtyard is quite bright. A few of the lights we were able to turn off but there was one directly across from our bedroom window that we could not so it was very bright in our room all night. We suggest that you bring an eye mask with you.
Overall we would still highly recommend anyone looking to stay at this beautiful casita!

Stunning casita
This is a beautifully decorated, very comfortable and impeccably clean home near the Plaza Grande and Paseo de Montejo. The main bedroom suite includes large closets, a lovely dressing area with ample drawer space, an excellent master bathroom and a view of a gorgeous interior courtyard. The kitchen is well equipped and very user friendly. The roof garden is great for meals, lounging and entertaining guests. It's easy to walk to many local restaurants, art galleries, shops, museums and parks, including Santa Ana, Santa Lucia and the Mejorada. Lemeau is an excellent hostess and is very responsive to any need or question that may arise. Her private driver, Juan, is available for tours and local trips - He is an excellent and reliable driver and a treasure of a person. Rosalba, the housekeeper, is also lovely and helpful. For me, this casita was truly a home away from home.
