About this property
5 bedroom secluded villa with private pool & stunning views of the Rhone valley
Clos de Verger is a modern 5 bedroom secluded villa tastefully designed to reflect the traditional regional style. The villa is situated on the outskirts of the quiet hilltop village of Le Pin. It is a 15 minutes drive from the picturesque medieval town of Uzes and a 45 minutes drive from the historic walled city of the Popes: Avignon.
Location
As the last house on the East side of the village, Clos de Verger enjoys the best views in Le Pin. Le Pin is a sleepy retreat with a church, a small park where the locals play boules (and are open to a challenge). The village is served by a bread delivery van straight from the 1950s bringing fresh baguettes and croissants every morning from the nearby bakery.
The dining/sitting room and adjacent terrace capitalises on the commanding panorama of the Rhone valley. Dining on the terrace, one can admire the stunning vistas of the vineyards stretching down to the evocative stone houses and towers of the medieval villages of Tresques and Saint-pons-la-Calme nestling into the lavender fields and poplar trees of the Rhone valley. On clear days Mont Ventoux (beloved of Van Gough and mountain cyclists alike) can be seen in the distance.
Bedrooms
The villa sleeps 10 - 12 people in 5 attractively decorated and comfortable bedrooms, Clos de Verger is perfect for an inter-generational family group, or two families holidaying together. There are 3 double bedrooms and 2 twin rooms. An additional day bed in the master bedroom is ideal for smaller children to be accommodated with their parents. A travel cot, high chair and nappy changing facilities are available for younger guests.
Dining/sitting room
The long dining table seats 12 for dinner. Three large sofas and satellite TV can accommodate the whole party to watch English, German, Dutch and French Television channels. A large window and extensive glass patio doors show off the incredible views.
The East Terrace
The East terrace is the focal point for alfresco dining and soaking up the panoramic views. There is a 3m long teak table and teak chairs for 12. The terrace has a large canopy to shield you from the midday sun.
Salon
The salon, an additional living space leads out through patio doors to the South terrace and on to the garden and pool. The salon provides a quiet retreat from the main relaxation area and features an extensive library of English books, board games and children's toys.
South Terrace
Through the salon is a smaller terrace with an awning surrounded by rosemary bushes. The south terrace has a U shaped teak seating area, coffee table and bean bags and accommodates 6-8 people. This terrace leads on to the garden and pool.
Garden and Pool
The garden is south facing and has been beautifully landscaped and planted with native shrubs and creepers. To the west of the garden is the swimming pool and gates to the orchard. The pool is of uniform depth and at 1.2m perfect for playing volleyball with the kids. There are a selection of pool chairs, loungers and bean bags.
The Orchard
Beyond the garden and pool is the orchard with a variety of native fruit and nut trees. There is vehicular access from the road and room for several cars to park off street.
West terrace/herb garden
Opposite the pool and on the west end of the house is quiet patio area and herb garden with plastic garden furniture.
Kitchen
The kitchen consists of a main cooking area with an adjacent pantry and utility space. The kitchen is bright and well-equipped. There is a gas hob, electric fan oven, two large fridges, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster and microwave.
