About this property

Spectacular views from rooms, deck & hot tub. Walk to historic downtown Basalt!

A lovely lodge perched high above charming Basalt village, overlooking the confluence of the gold medal Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers, with beautiful views of 13,000 foot Mt. Sopris to the west and the Roaring Fork Valley to the south. The Lodge has four lovely bedrooms and sleeps 10. The kitchen is well-appointed with a Viking range for those who love to cook at home, but if not, a handful of restaurants serve hearty and fancy fare in Basalt, a 2 minute drive or a healthy stroll down the mountain. The wrap-around deck provides glorious views, and southwestern exposure means bright sun all day and spectacular sunsets in the eve. The Lodge backs up to the White Mountain National Forest, which is laced with hiking trails, and it is located minutes away from some of the best trout fishing in Colorado, and 20 minutes from the Aspen/Snowmass ski mountains and the Aspen Airport. Amenities include hot tub, heated garage, gas fire place, wifi, wall mounted TV screens, fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer and grill.

Mountaintop retreat

A beautiful home that we have come back to many times. Basalt is a lovely little town with a river running through it, right down the road from Aspen. Great restaurants, lovely hiking and biking trails, trout fishing and friendly people make this the perfect vacation spot for a couple, families, or groups. The house is perched on top of a mountain and is well equipped. It’s one of our favorites!

Best Colorado stay, EVER!

From the moment we arrived at the house, we fell madly in love with the location, layout, decor, space- everything was even better than we imagined. The kitchen is a gourmet dream- the host has plenty of back up spices to borrow, and almost every appliance you need. The hot tub was in a great location and had a great view. There is an amazing, and different view, from every room in the house.the bed linens are sumptuous, and there are fabulous throws to use throughout the house. Even though we were able to walk into the charming town of basalt for a meal, we often just cooked in so we could enjoy the house and the views. If you have an opportunity to rent this property, you should!

Fabulous!

We had the most amazing time at Bill and Betina’s home! The location, the views, the amenities, everything was great! This was a welcome retreat after a long day of fantastic skiing. We enjoyed the hot tub every day, with beautiful views up the valley. Bill & Betina were wonderful hosts & met us upon arrival to explain everything and offer tips about the area. We can’t say enough about it and we hope to return again!

We had a wonderful time! We love Basalt and everything about it!

The property is great - beautiful house, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The owners are extremely accommodating and nice. This was our second year to stay there and we enjoyed it as much or more than last year. We hope to return next year!

Wonderful!

The house was perfect for our family of 7! Everyone loved it and felt so comfortable there. Billy the property manager was very attentive. We loved opening all the windows and letting the cool breeze refresh us all. We were high enough on the mountain that we felt cool enough even though the temps were hotter than usual. Just a 6 minute drive into the town of Basalt was an added plus. Many good restaurants just a stones throw away.

This beautiful home is one of the best equipped and maintained home we have every rented.

Betina & Bill Infante are wonderful owners who share their beautiful home while they travel the world. This house is above, but in, Basalt Colorado with easy access to its great dining, entertainment, and shopping. Basalt is near Aspen in miles but completely apart with its small town feel. The view from the home is with out a doubt one of the best in the Roaring Forks Valley. We fully intend to rent a week or two next summer!

Perfect!

It was a beautiful home with drop-dead views, on the top of a mountain with a wrap-around porch. It was gorgeous, comfortable and very well stocked with everything we could have wanted. We stayed a month, and still were sad to be leaving. Best VRBO rental we've ever done!

About the host

Hosted by Betina & Bill Infante

Host profile image
Bill & Betina own the Roaring Fork Valley Lodge. After living and working overseas for years, we found our dream home in Basalt. We love everything about Basalt and the Roaring Fork Valley. We still travel to Mongolia several months out of the year, and thus we are opening our home to guests during those months.

Why they chose this property

The lodge is a magical place with spectacular views of the valley and stunning Mount Sopris. It's a private and serene place in the Basalt Highlands, yet only a healthy stroll to historic downtown Basalt, and the gold medal Roaring Fork and Frying Pan rivers. Our property hosts the trail head for one of many hikes in the White Mountain National Forest. There is nothing like waking up at the lodge!

What makes this property unique

From the lodge you have access to almost any activity you can dream of. The skiing in the winter is fabulous. During any other season, you can fly fish, bike, hike, climb, sail, kayak, raft, tennis, golf or just enjoy the scenery. Every year is full of events and festivals: World Cup skiing in Dec, X Games in Jan, Food & Wine Festival in June, World Pro Bike racing in July, Jazz Festival in June, and the Aspen Music Festival throughout the summer. And then, there is the infamous Ideas Fest in June and July. It's truly endless fun, culture and the great outdoors all in one valley.
