Hummingird Road Cabins is located in the heart of Southern Illinois Wine Country, just off the beaten path. Down a quiet road with the beauty of Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest surrounding us.
Whether you need a quiet getaway for the weekend with no hassles, or just a place to sleep after touring Southern Illinois Wine Country, we will do our best to accommodate you.

Hummingbird Road Cabin offers a quiet place in the woods to enjoy Southern Illinois from, or just stay on the property and enjoy catching some fish in the pond. We have 23 acres of woods to walk around in as well, with much wildlife around. Deer, owls, hummingbirds, squirrels, woodpeckers and eagles are just some of the wildlife we our often blessed with.

Comfort: At Hummingbird Road Cabin, we want you to feel at home, and that means being comfortable where you are. This is a rural area, very quiet, in the woods, if that sounds good to you then please come check us out. If there is something you are missing or if we can do more to make your stay a better one, please let us know.

Clean and cozy

This was a great place for a rainy weekend. Very clean and cozy! We really enjoyed the hot tub with the roof over it and the fountain in the pond.

Thank you for hosting us at your lovely cabin for our anniversary weekend! We truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and all the thoughtful touches that made our stay so relaxing. You provided everything we needed, and we felt right at home. Your kindness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The owners are nearby but very respectful of privacy. A tip for future guests: be careful not to miss the driveway on your way in. We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again in the future!P.S. The peace we needed

Without a doubt this has been one of my best VRBO stays. The property was ready to go and when when the property owner learned we drove for over 5 hourd she even let us check in a little early. The property was set us so every room is cozy and warm and the hot tub was clean and ready for use. Miss. Gloria was a pleasure to work with and very responsive, it was nice to have her and her son so close in case we needed them right away. It rained one day and the firewood we had set out was wet so Ricky (Miss. Glorias son) brought more fresh dry wood. We are looking forward to more visits here in the future. If i could give Miss. Gloria and her property 10 stars i would. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Overall great stay. May want to bring some of your own cookware but they do supply some. Hottub is amazing and great hiking is a short drive away. We had an amazing time

Inaccurate Description Of Property

This listing is inaccurate because this is not a cabin at all. It is a converted shed or manufactured home. It is also not secluded at all. There is literally a house(owners?) right across the "pond", not shown in any of the pictures. We felt like we were being watched the entire time and did not get to enjoy the hot tub because of the close proximity of the house across the pond. All three windows did not have curtains which added to the feeling of being watched. Who doesn't have curtains or shades on their windows at home?? The door right across from the bathroom can be viewed from the house across the pond. My wife and I both shot up from bed one morning because we thought someone was breaking into the shed, but it was just the pouring rain bouncing off the metal roof. When we arrived, the shed smelled of some sort of burning odor. The shed is heated by a wall unit with broken buttons in the living room and a small space heater in the bedroom. We were very disappointed with this property and will not be returning, and we will not recommend this listing to anyone we know.

Relaxing

Best friend and I needed a getaway and this was perfect. We brought our own groceries and stayed in and watched movies - a break from work and the other a caregiver. Highly recommend it.

Great Girls’ Getaway

We’ve been coming back to this cabin for a girls’ getaway for the past few years. The cabin is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We spend most of the time sitting on the deck and enjoying the sights and sounds of the pond. The cabin is equipped with everything you need, and weave always found it to be clean and well-maintained. Visiting with the host us one of our favorite parts!

Cozy cabin

Hummingbird Cabin was ther perfect place for us. We were looking for a quiet getaway for me to unwind from a stressfull job. This cabin is cozy. Its so quiet and perfect for just reading on the deck and listening to the wildlife. Will comeback again.

The cutest cabin!

This was such a cute and quiet place! There were no disruptions, and the property was well-maintained and clean. Everything was in working order and set up well. The cabin was easy to find and had a nice pond and porch. We saw hummingbirds, frogs, butterflies, and other small animals. It was the perfect little getaway for a girls' weekend. Very comfortable bed and all the amenities you could want. Plenty of space for two people and comfortable. Thank you!

Girls Weekend

Weekend getaway and the cabin was amazing and perfect! Everything was great. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed having breakfast on the back deck. There are many winery’s close by and lots of good hiking too. Couldn’t have been a more perfect weekend! Host was super sweet and accommodating! Would recommend to friends and would book again! Nice cabin next to a pond

Had another fantastic stay at the hummingbird cabin. Just stayed for a couple days this time for a little r & r. Fished the pond and caught some nice fish. Did a little hiking also. Enjoyed the hot tub.

Good fishing. No insects to bother us. The cabin needs e deep cleaning. Very quiet and peaceful. Needed more than 2 and 1/2 rolls of toilet paper for 2 people for 4 days.

Wonderful anniversary

had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the hot tub alot and loved the scenery. Only issue was we forgot lighter fluid for the fire pit but thats on us. Otherwise we had a great time and will come back again.

Weekend trip

When we arrived the cleaner was still inside cleaning and a guy was sitting on the couch. We waited outside for 30 minutes. There were many spiders in every corner of the house and every ceiling fan string. The pond didn’t have many fish but the kids caught 2 or 3 small bluegill. The house had direct tv but we couldn’t watch many things because of a child restriction.

Cozy cabin

We enjoyed our stay at Hummingbird Cabin immensely! The hot tub was wonderful to enjoy in the morning/evening before/after hiking Garden of the Gods, Giant City State Park, Fern Clyffe, and riding our motorcycle. We had a blast catching some bass right off the back porch. One morning we had a great blue heron fly onto the pond, another morning a couple of deer strolled down as well…was a peaceful place to get away! We got to meet the owners, who were very nice and told us to let them know if we needed anything.

Hummingbird Cabin

Was a very nice place to stay. Enjoyed the out doors and done some fishing, catch and release. Would stay there again. Pictures showed a recliner in the living room, which I always sleep in because of my back. But was disappointed that it had been replaced with a glider rocker. But all in all, it’s a very nice place to stay.
