Nice spot for the summer

Our daughter worked at the ice cream shop and we used this place as our launching pad to visit friends and family all over the coast of Maine.

Great place and Great People

The place was exactly as advertised. Check in was a breeze. Skip and Cindy did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. It seemed they thought of everything that we could want/need in the place. The neighbors were also very friendly and helpful. While we spent most of our time away from the house sightseeing and such, I can easily see how comfortable the house and property could be if we decided to stay there all week. Downtown Boothbay Harbor was only a 10 minute walk which was great to do after dinner or during the day without worrying about parking.

Something for everyone

This family friendly cottage was comfortable, clean and very well equipped, especially with things to do on rainy days -- books, movies, puzzles, and board games for guests of all ages. The location was perfect -- a short walk to town but located in a quiet, residential setting. The hosts provided lots of information about local things to do, see, and eat.

A Month in Maine

My husband and I spent the month of July here in Boothbay Harbor and despite cold and rainy weather we had a great time. I chose this location as it was nearly equally distant from my extended family to the north and south. This worked out wonderfully as each visited us several times. The cottage had a kitchen complete with everything, including a salad spinner and lobster cooker! The lobsterman across the road was happy to supply us with his catch which he cheerfully delivered for his cost. The house had many games, books and puzzles which I was thankful for as the weather was so rainy. I set up a spare table and spent many happy hours doing jigsaw puzzles. My grandchildren loved the many games as well as the croquet set that was in the shed. The many DVDs were an added bonus and I watched many movies while there. The cottage is within walking distance to the busy harbor and although the walk is up and down steep hills, this was a boon as the parking near the harbor is a bit daunting at the peak of the summer. The Maine Botanical Gardens are just a few minutes from the cottage and are such fun to visit. The huge Trolls, by a Danish artist, were a delightful addition to the fantastic flowers and attractions there. There are also many hiking trails nearby, with descriptions and directions in the basket at the cottage, along with literature on other attractions in the area. An added bonus to the wonderful vacation was the friendship we made with our knowledgeable hosts, Skip and Cyndy. Cyndy loves to tell stories and she has many! If you want to spend a week at a quiet cottage in Maine, this is the place for you! You can do as much or as little as you want with peace and quiet on a dead end road or the hustle and bustle of the town just a walk away.

Very Friendly Host

Cyndy and Skip were very friendly, and gave us many insights and information about Boothbay Harbor. I really enjoyed reading on the deck and playing games out in the yard. We were happy to have the option to walk to the center of town to visit the shops. Even though the neighbors are fairly close, and two of them were doing construction, it felt very private.

Wonderful location close to downtown Boothbay Harbor. Very helpful and communicative hosts. Other than a minor cleaning issue when we arrived, we had a wonderful visit, and I can highly recommend.

Comfortable and relaxing!

This is the second time we have stayed at Skippers Cottage, and we would definitely recommend it! There is plenty of room, our son took over the upstairs and we had the downstairs. There is a great deck to just hang out on or enjoy a meal after a day of exploring the area. The harbor is just a short walk down the hill where you can grab a bite to eat, take a boat ride, shop, have ice cream or just sit and take in the beautiful harbor views. The neighbors are friendly and the hosts are the best! Thank you Cyndy and Skip for another great week in Boothbay Bay Harbor!

A Perfect Week in Maine

A great, nostalgic cottage on a quiet edge of town. Perfect for our family of four. Easy walking distance to town and quick drives to so many of Maine’s beautiful landscapes. Cyndy and Skip were great communicators and accommodated any request we had. We will visit again and recommend to friends and family!

Comfortable Cottage - Cozy & Well Appointed

We enjoyed our stay at Skipper's cottage. It's a neat and tidy place with all the essentials. Just the right size for a couple or a family up to 4. The description supplied by the owners is accurate. The location is within a nice walking distance on the main part of town. Stay local for your visit of this harbor town and/or use this location as a base to short hop around to the neighboring towns, sightseeing locations and abundant restaurants. The off sight owners are a pleasure to work with and very accommodating! Skipper's cottage is a definite return choice for our next trip to the Boothbay area. Thank you Cyndy and Skip!

My Happy Place!

Our visit to Boothbay Harbor over the 4th of July holiday was fantastic! Super cute & charming cottage, comfortable, clean, and a great location! It’s a short walk to the Harbor where you’ll find all sorts of stores, restaurants, and fun things to do. The cottage has everything you need, even if you want to cook your own lobsters! They also have games, lots of movies, and plenty of tv channels. If you like to sit outside, the deck is great as well! Cyndy and Skip were wonderful - very friendly, helpful, great resources for anything you want to know about the area, and just went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. My parents were staying at a campground nearby and lost their way trying to find the cottage...Cyndy and Skip went to find them. It was super sweet. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and we know that you will too!! We definitely plan to stay again at Skippers Cottage in the future!

Great little cottage

Skippers Cottage is a perfect place to stay in Boothbay Harbor. Only a few blocks from downtown for convenience but secluded enough for privacy. Everything that you would need is here for your stay. Cyndy and Skipper met us when we arrived and were as warm as long time friends. Having lived in the area for a long time they are able and willing to give advice or suggestions about local places to visit or dine. Although we have been to the area many times they were able to provide us with a few tidbits we were unaware of. The cottage and its owners are wonderful and highly recommended.

Charming place

Quiet neighborhood. Close to downtown Boothbay Harbor. About 5 minutes walk. Next to wood trails in the Penny Lake Preserve. Can go to grocery or drugstore by walk in about 15 or 20 minutes. This is an authentic cute cottage with original windows, vintage interior doors, cedar shingles, etc. Charming place & charming owners. Enjoying drinking a cofee each morning on the porch/balcony equiped with chairs and tables, in the shade on covered East section or the sun on open South section. Bathroom and kitchen are clean and functionnal.

We felt right at home!

This cottage was very comfortable and cozy. Everything that you need during your stay is right there. It is close enough to the harbor that you can walk into town to shop, take a cruise on one of the boats, eat dinner and have ice cream. The property owners, Skip and Cyndy, are very personable and make you feel right at home. It was a great place to relax and unwind. We really enjoyed our stay there and would do it again.

Sweetest cottage!

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Skipper's Cottage! It's at the end of a dead end street in a very quiet and safe neighborhood, yet only a five minute walk down the hill into town. It had everything we needed and more. We were very comfortable there. The cottage is clean and well taken care of. We only wish we could've spent more time there! We kept very busy exploring. We loved Boothbay Harbor and also visited Wiscassett (make sure you go to Red's Eats and get a lobster roll!), Bath, Freeport, Ocean Point (in East Boothbay), Porter Preserve on Barters Island, Newcastle, Damariscotta, Bristol and my favorite, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse! Cyndy and Skip were super helpful! They have a binder full of information on the area including restaurant menus, places to hike and local activities like boat tours etc. They were just a phone call away if we needed anymore information too! They were so friendly and accommodating! I highly recommend Skipper's Cottage! We hope to return!

Charming New England home

We loved the cottage and it's quaint character. Lovely, large open deck, the house was well stocked with classic board games that our children (and the grown ups) enjoyed. It is conveniently located close to downtown Boothbay Harbor. The gas stove was a welcome sight for a family that enjoys cooking.

Cozy cottage in quiet neighborhood close to harbor fun!

Boothbay Harbor was a lively and busy harbor spot. The Ericksons provide everything you would need and are very friendly, easy to contact, and accommodating. The space was perfect for a family of four and we enjoyed the 5-minute walk into town. The boat tours and Ocean Point rock hopping are a must and close by. Popham beach is always a favorite and seems to be among locals as well. We love Maine!

Lovely cottage with all the amenities

We had a wonderful time in Boothbay, complimented by this lovely summer cottage. It is perfect for s family of four. Our children loved the quiet of their second floor bedroom hideaway! The cottage is in the perfect location to walk to town, yet is on a quiet street with no thru traffic and nice neighbors. The spacious yard backs up to a reserve, and the tidy landscaping full of summer flowers were a nice homey touch. The cottage is riddled with historic Maine charm, yet has all the modern amenities with multiple TV and movie options, wifi, modern kitchen, etc. We also enjoyed all of the board games and puzzles. The owners are very hands on and accommodating as they are locals themselves. We definitely recommend staying here.

A Rustic Comfortable Cottage

The communication with our hosts was suburb and each inquiry & email was promptly answered in detail. My Mom & I stayed at Skippers Cottage for 5 Nights and were greeted by our gracious hosts on arrival. Cyndi explained everything about the area and how to walk the short distance beautiful Downtown Booth Bay. It was easy for my Mom to walk there daily as the area is clean , safe and just lovely . The cottage is older & charmingly rustic with an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable . We provided own sheets & towels. It was mid September and nights got a little cool. There is no central heat but space heaters provided which we were grateful for. I would recommend this area and cottage for a family summer vacation as there is lots of outdoor space and BBQ to enjoy. Only thing I would change is a full size coffee maker as it was very small and very slow. I would return to stay at this little cottage if I ever have the opportunity to visit Booth Bay again.

Great location. Very nice owners

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Boothbay Harbor. Our little rustic cottage had everything we needed, including a great puzzle to do and a deck of cards. We made good use of the lobster pot with lobster purchased from the co-op across the bay. I highly recommend going there if you want to save some money on the terrific fresh lobster in the area. The cottage located on a quiet street, is an easy walk from town, where there is plenty to see and do. The entire region is rife with beauty, it's the perfect getaway spot for those who want to explore and for those who just want to relax in a lovely area. Thanks Skip and Cyndy for being so welcoming, nice and helpful!
