You will be welcomed for your holiday cottage in Charente-Maritime, in Chaillevette, in an old tide mill whose existence dates back to the 15th century, the current building was built between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries.
Its location on an oyster port typical of the Presqu'Île d'Arvert, on the edge of Seudre and in a Natura 2000 area, will seduce you with its authenticity, its calm and its wild beauty.
Your accommodation will be, among others, near the beautiful sandy beaches of the Grande Côte, the seaside resort of Royan, the forest of Coubre, the zoo Palmyre and Ile d'Oleron.
You will enjoy free access to the large swimming pool (12 X 6 m) and to the outdoor facilities of the property: terrace, equipped plancha, picnic tables, ping-pong, garden ...
The property is located in the middle of former salt evaporation ponds. Therefore, it is not suitable for young children to 10 (babies excepted).

An oasis of tranquility and unspoilt charm

My 91 year old father and myself stayed for 15 nights in a first floor 2 bed-roomed apartment. The metal steps leading to the front door are quite steep and narrow but there is a good hand rail. There is also a deep step down into the two en-suite washrooms (neither contain a toilet) that you need to be mindful of. The apartment was very spacious and airy with wonderful views and an open plan fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed a wonderful stay and the hosts were charming. We could only get WiFi in the main living space (not either of the bedrooms) and it was OK but not great. Was not a problem for us but I wouldn't like to rely on it for work or Zoom meetings-which we did not have to. Rustic, very quiet, undisturbed, charming, authentic and peaceful. We will book again and can recommend.

Fantastisch

Heerlijk rustig en in een bijzondere omgeving waar eb en vloed steeds een ander uitzicht bieden. Net huis met veel ruimte en van alle gemakken voorzien. Gastvrouw bijzonder vriendelijk en gaf een hartelijke ontvangst.

Séjour tranquille dans un joli gîte

Très bonne quinzaine au Moulin de Chatressac. Le gîte (Île d’Aix) est très confortable, joliment décoré et les propriétaires accueillants et très discrets. La vue sur les marais est très dépaysante et les jeux de lumière et vols d’oiseaux une animation en soi. Cela remplace idéalement le wifi 😉 qui ne fonctionne pas vraiment. Attention si vous en avez vraiment besoin! Ce problème de wifi et le prix en plein été un peu élevé pour un gîte tout de même assez éloigné de la côte sont les seuls bémols à l’avis par ailleurs très positif que nous formulons pour ce gîte agréable.

Lieu exceptionnel de par sa beauté. Avec vue sur la mer, le logement est décoré avec goût tout en étant fonctionnel. Propriétaires discrets mais toujours à l 'écoute....idéalement placée, cette location permet de découvrir la region. Merci à Isabelle et son époux...a bientôt

Vivement conseillé

Très beau gîte tout confort avec une vue superbe. Très bien situé pour découvrir la région et dans un environnement très tranquille. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour dans le gîte AIX.
