Banyan Villa 1 - Private Pool - private walled garden - 30 seconds to the beach
Banyan Villa 1 provides spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests; located within a secluded walled garden it has its own private pool and jacuzzi allowing guests to relax in quiet privacy. Alternatively, located less than 70 metres away through colourful tropical gardens and right next to the beach, a larger shared pool is also available to Banyan Villas’ guests.
Banyan Villa 1 is built in the Balinese style and provides spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests. The villa is furnished, combining elements of western and Asian style, providing high levels of comfort and practicality. Banyan Villa 1 has an adjoining gate to Banyan Villa 2. Both villas are often rented together, for larger parties, doubling the space available, groups of up to 14 people can enjoy the quiet seclusion of the villas' two pools and Jacuzzis.
Entry to the villa is through the front door into the kitchen. The European style kitchen is fitted out with modern cooking appliances including oven and separate hotplates, microwave, two fridge-freezers, coffee maker, rice cooker, toaster and cooking utensils. A full complement of premium crockery, glassware and cutlery is also provided.
Nest to the kitchen is the dining room equipped with a large teak dining table that will accommodate 8 in comfort with views over the pool and garden. Double doors lead onto the pool terrace where there is a further patio dining table and chairs for those who prefer to eat outdoors. A guest powder room is located just off the dining room.
Stairs lead from the dining room to the upstairs living area. Furnished in teak and bamboo, the living area has a bar area, guest powder room and double doors leading onto the roof terrace and Sala, with views out to the ocean. The living room is equipped with a “bar fridge”, smart TV and internet TV channels providing multi-language viewing and with almost 2,000 movies on demand.
Downstairs 3 bedrooms open onto the pool terrace. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and large en-suite with twin sinks, bath, shower and toilet. Bedrooms 2 has a king-sized bed and Bedroom 3 has twin beds; both have their own en-suite bathrooms. The 3 bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans and air-conditioning.
Behind the kitchen is a further compact bedroom with twin beds, air-conditioning and its’ own en-suite bathroom ideally suited for children.
Complimentary Wi Fi internet access is available throughout the villa.

Neighbourhood – Overview
Bang Por beach is sandy and quiet (no mass tourism). There are 4 restaurants within easy reach; 3 are a short walk down the beach (Jun Hom, The Sea and By the Beach), a further restaurant is located near the villa entrance (The Terrace) and within 1.5kms in the centre of Bang Por there many more restaurants and bars. Close by is a 7/11 convenience store, a discount supermarket and we have a local Thai shop 50 metres from our gate.
For main provision shopping Big C, Makro and Lotus can be found on the main ring road between Bophut and Chaweng, about 20 minutes’ drive. In Chaweng itself you will find Central Festival a very large shopping centre and Department store and many street shops and a Tops supermarket.
Closer by are Maenam and Bophut, Maenam has a few small restaurants and Bophut Fisherman’s village has many bars and restaurants of all cuisines.
Getting Around
We would recommend car hire during your stay, although it is possible to flag down the local "pick-up taxis" that frequently pass the entrance.
Should you choose to drive an international driving license should be used. International car hire companies such as Hertz and Avis are present at the airport. Banyan Villas can also arrange car hire for you.

Getting to Banyan Villas
By air
Most visitors to Koh Samui, whether domestic or international, will reach the island by air.
Bangkok Airways own the private airport on the island and operate flights from Bangkok every thirty minutes from early morning until 9pm. With a flight time of just 45 minutes, it is but a short hop! Bangkok Airways also operate direct flights from other cities within Thailand, as well as international locations such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China. Check the schedule on Bangkok Airways website for details.
By road & ferry
If driving through Thailand then head for the small port of Donsak on the southeast coast about 70km from Surat Thani. There are two car ferry services operating from here, with crossings to/from Koh Samui every hour between dawn and dusk.
Visas
Thailand does not require visas for most European, North American, Australasian or ASEAN nationals if travelling for the purposes of tourism. It is best though to be sure and if travelling from overseas we advise you to first check with your travel agent or nearest Thai Consulate before beginning your journey.

We are Richard & Nunticha (Nam) Haigh and since 2006 we have been running a small family holiday villa business, known as Banyan Villas. Originally, I am from the UK and spent 30 years working for Jaguar Land Rover before retiring from the motor industry to Samui. Nam comes from Saraburi in central Thailand and is a key driver of our business. We have a daughter at school in Koh Samui and we all enjoy the island life!

Why they chose this property
Having travelled the world as part of my former career, on visiting Thailand, we decided this was the place to settle for the future and having holidayed in Koh Samui, I could think of no better place for my future retirement!
We chose the area, we didn't want to be in the centre of town, we wanted some privacy and seclusion, but we didn’t choose this villa, we built it to our design.
Bang Por beach and Coconut Paradise met our specifications, a quiet area next to the beach. Our Villas were really designed as homes, how we would like to live and over time we have lived in all of them for extended periods time. I believe the test is, if the villa works for you as a family home it must also work well as a holiday villa!
Whilst we are 20 minutes away from the nearest main town, we prefer the tranquillity of our location with local bars and restaurants a short walk away and for the more active wanting night life on Samui nothing is too far away.

During your stay in Banyan Villa 1 you will be able to relax in the peaceful secluded garden, enjoy a dip in your own private pool, take a 30 second walk down the garden path to the beach, to use communal pool, bathe in the sea or just to enjoy the evening sunset.
If you are feeling like refreshment, a 5-minute stroll on the beach takes you to a number of restaurants situated right on the beach, great food, pure relaxation and great sunsets.
Alternatively, you plan on staying in for the evening; you can relax on the balcony and enjoy the cooling evening sea breeze from the Balcony Sala with views out to sea.
Tired of the tranquil scene, then shopping and nightlife are only 15-20 minutes-drive away in Bophut Fisherman's village of Bophut or Chaweng.
