About this property

The "Casinha Canal" is a charming, romantic old townhouse in the historic centre of Lagos (no car needed), the Algarve´s prettiest and exciting town, with the best beaches, bars, restaurants and sweet shops, within a few minutes walk.

The house is on a quiet street and sports a lovely sunny roof terrace. It's perfect for couples or families of three or singles, who wish for luxury, refinement and a romantic retreat while enjoying the whole house to themselves - at the same price as a holiday apartment in town.

On the ground floor, there is a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, space for a third bed if required, and a separate shower room. On the upper floor, you will find a large bedroom for two with direct access to the roof terrace, as well as a shower and a toilet.

Our property manager is loacated in central Lagos. They are always available for any problems that may arise during your stay. For your information, you will receive our house reader with everything you need to know about the house, as well as the best local recommendations for eating, drinking, shopping, tours and beaches.

Disappointing

The listing on VRBO is misleading. The lower floor that looks so bright in the pictures is very dark, and lighting is exceptionally poor. The furniture is no longer clean looking as in the picture. Heating is with wood which is fine, if we had enough supplied for the stay, but we went through what was there within three days, and the information we read upon arrival noted that if we used the electric heat too much, i.e. over what the owners' budget for, we would be charged additional funds. As a result we were fairly uncomfortable due to the chilly weather. While the location is phenomenal and the outdoor patio is lovely, there were too many other things that were lacking in terms of what we expected from the listing. This was disheartening. We absolutely could have stayed in a hotel more reasonably, and I would add more comfortably. I reached out the the owners after our stay to give them our feedback and while they were appreciative of our feedback and right to suggest we should have reached out if we were unhappy, I was on vacation and did not want the hassle of dealing with this during our stay.

Love LAGOS

Marc and Uta were wonderful hosts. Accommodations were perfect for the two us. The location was perfect for exploring Lagos. And, we particularly loved the private rooftop for evening cocktails!

Great property, great location, great hosts. Location is very convenient to all old town restaurants and bars. 15 minute walk to the beaches and the marina. Uta and Marc were very responsive hosts, although we had very few questions and no issues. Overall a great stay with unexpectedly great weather.

Zentrales Stadt-Domizil in relativ ruhiger Nebenstrasse

Kleines Stadt-Domizil für den der als Mittel- oder Ausgangspunkt für die Algarve-Erkundung die Stadt braucht, abends noch mal raus, tagsüber kurze Wege für Besorgungen, Restaurants. Dabei ist auch der Stadtstrand in fünf Minuten zu Fuss erreicht. Kleiner Wohn/Küche Bereich, schönes Schlafzimmer im 1.OG mit Balkon. der im Tagesverlauf mal Sonne mal Schatten bietet. Aufmerksame, sorgsame Vermieter, gute Kommunikation.

Wonderful Stay

I highly recommend this property for your stay in Lagos, especially if you want to be very central. It is in a great part of town. Very clean, and has everything you need. The deck off of the bedroom is fantastic. Enjoy!

Schöner Urlaub

Das Häuschen ist genauso wie vom Vermieter dargestellt,. wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Es ist alles wunderbar beschrieben, man erhält viele Tipps und kann sich jederzeit an die Hausmanagerin wenden. Evtl. kann es manchmal am Abend ein bisschen laut sein, wenn Spätheimkehrer durch die Gasse gehen. Aber man ist halt mitten in der Altstadt, da muss man damit rechnen. Parken vor dem Haus ist nicht möglich, aber ein goßer kostenloser Parkplatz ist ganz nah und zu Fuß in 5 Minuten zu erreichen.

Great Location in Lagos

This apartment is delightful, bright and cheery, with a sunny upstairs deck just outside the main bedroom, located on a quiet side street, just a few minutes away from the centre of the old town. Beaches are within walking distance and there are plenty of decent restaurants within a few steps of the apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much, although there is a slight smell of mould in the shower and cupboards which should be addressed. Parking is available close by and access is easy. Would we go back? Yes, for sure!

Wohlfühl-Urlaub in perfekter Lage

Wir haben uns sofort Zuhause gefühlt. Das Häuschen ist total schön eingerichtet und alles Nötige ist vorhanden. Obwohl schon nach wenigen Schritten Cafés, Restaurants und Geschäfte erreichbar sind, liegt es absolut ruhig. Die Tipps von Uta und Marc waren gold wert, die beiden sind supernett und unkompliziert. Wir waren ganz sicher nicht zum letzten Mal da. Vielen lieben Dank an Euch beiden!

Amazing place with a great terrace!!

It was cutely decorated! Well stocked with everything you needed. Great recommendations by the owners which we did book a tour through their recommendation. We are accustomed to our large comfortable bed at home, we found the bed very hard and squeaky. Just our preference. Overall a great experience though.

Jolie petite maison de ville

Maison de ville bien équipée à proximité à pied du centre ville, des plages, des magasins et supermarché. Le petit plus de la maison c est sa terrasse en hauteur. On a pu arriver tard en bus de l aéroport de Faro car la clé est accessible dans un petit coffre à l entrée. Serviettes de plage et toilettes fournies ce qui évite de charger les valises (surtout avec les compagnies low cost). On a passé 2 belles semaines.

Beautiful house in beautiful quaint town

Beautiful and tastefully decorated in historic section of Lagos, which also happens to be a wonderful and beautiful town. No need for a car here as bus and train are short ( 10-15 minutes) distance to house . Would rebook without hesitation.

Pure beauty, perfectly situated - I recommend a stay!

A beautiful place in the center of Lagos. Anything can be reached by a little walk within minutes. The interiors are stunning and very tasteful. We enjoyed our stay and will be back soon. Totally recommended!

Es besticht die Individuelle Ausstattung und die Farbgestaltung, die Wohlbehagen und Lebensfreude vermittelt. Bemerkenswert auch die "kleine Bibliothek" mit ausgewählten Büchern (nicht nur lesenswert bei schlechtem Wetter) Gut die ruhige Lage in der Altstadt und trotzdem ist man in 5 Minuten Fußweg im pulsierenden Leben von Lagos mit Musik, künstlerischen Darbietungen und jede Möglichkeit sehr gut zu Essen. Frühstück morgens um die Ecke runden das Urlaubsverwöhnprogramm in dieser zauberhaften vom Sonnengott verwöhnten Stadt in Lagos ab.Diese bezaubernde Stadt in Portugal, die so viel zu bieten hat, dass, wenn man denn überhaupt abreisen muss, so doch sicher schon den nächsten Aufenthalt in Uta& Marc`s Domizil im Fokus hat.

We are a couple with two children (23 and 9 years old) living in Germany. Our favourite destination for holidays was the Algarve, so for us, it felt natural to have a house down here. The "Casinha Canal" is our second house in Lagos. The first one is the "Casa Amendoeira" which we have since 2014. Therefore we know what our guests need to feel comfortable.

We purchased this house in September 2018, because it is in excellent condition, cosy and lovely. It felt like a perfect home from home for us, and we would be happy to share the experience with you.
