Our lake home is nestled between the towering pine trees on Prairie Lake, just 2 short miles north of the city of Chetek, Wisconsin.
Our beautiful lakeside home is simply perfect for family and friends of brides and grooms who have chosen The Mill, in Chetek for their special day. Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter... we enjoy welcoming wedding guests to our home.
We provide the perfect space for your family to get away ...to rest, relax and play... in an area that offers 4 seasons of local recreational FUN: fishing, swimming, water skiing, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, a drive-in movie theater, restaurants, snowmobiling, snow skiing and much more. For the fishermen out there... warm summer days, or icy winter afternoons...Chetek's Chain of Six Lakes are teeming with Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Sunfish and Walleyes.
6 guests will sleep comfortably in this virtually new lake home. 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, are stocked full with brand new white linens & towels. Enjoy beautiful sunset views from the deck or dock. The large wrap around deck is the perfect spot for dining. A fire pit and charcoal grill are provided for grilling, or roasting marshmallows. Fish or swim from our private dock, where a kayak and several inner tubes are waiting. A public boat launch is 1/2 mile away if you choose to bring your own boat, or you may want to take advantage of several pontoon/boat rentals in the area.

About the host

We moved our family of 4 from Chicago to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in the summer of 2014. The desire to have land where we could farm, have some chickens and raise our family in the slower pace of a rural community. So we began our search, which led us to the beautiful area around Chetek Wisconsin. We found a rural piece of land…8 acres with a stream on the north end. We bought it! A year later we hired an Amish cabin builder, who built our stacked timber home 20 miles east of Chetek. We share our home with our dog Ellie, cats Daisy and George, as well as a flock of chickens. In addition to being a wife, and mother to 2 amazing teenagers, am a full time Elementary Special Ed teacher and work winter weekends at Christie Mountain Ski Lodge.

Those who know my family would say that we have the “gift of hospitality.” When we lived in Chicago we often hosted foreign exchange students in our home from around the world. After moving to the Northwoods of Wisconsin we wanted to have a comfortable place where we could welcome people from near or far to a relaxing experience. We take great pride in hosting…from the moment you inquire about a possible stay at our home on Prairie Lake, to your arrival and settling in…I am available for questions, suggestions or assistance! What makes this property unique
We have pets, and know how special they are to our family. So we realize when you are considering a place to book some time away for your family...knowing your pet's are welcome is pretty important. As long as your 4 legged family members are well behaved and house broken, they are welcome to come along. Give us a heads up when booking, and tell us a bit about your furry family members. PET FEE: $50 per stay
