About this property

The Eagle's Landing on Minamkeak Lake

Nestled upon a hill and overlooking Minamkeak Lake, the Eagle's Landing is a perfect affordable, well-appointed and comfortable studio. Deck overlooking the lake with BBQ, galley kitchen, heated bathroom floor with rain shower, air conditioning, and WIFI.

Please note that I have a German Shepherd on the property. All bark no bite and loves attention. Mr. Oso is his name. a.k.a. Mr. Walkenpoo, I do my daily rounds but he loves to leave me little gifts in the driveway at times! Watch your step.

The Eagle's Landing is a walkout studio below the Eagle's Nest. The property sits at the end of a dead-end road just 3 km from the highway. Bob & the Boys, the local Farm Market is right at the corner, with fresh local produce from Nova Scotia. Just 10 minutes away you are in downtown Bridgewater, a mid-size town with all conveniences, including groceries, hardware, banks, hospital etc.

On the way, you will pass by Indian Farms. Also local produce but the chance to pick strawberries (early July), raspberries, blueberries, (August), Apples (September).

Now for the Beaches. Beaches are within 25 km of the house (30 minutes max). These include Crescent Beach, Bachman's beach (Second Peninsula), Risser's Beach Provincial Park, Hirtle's Beach, White Point, and Summerville Beach.

Also about 30 minutes away is Historical Lunenburg with its fabulous restaurants, harbour, waterfront promenade, our infamous Bluenose, a Golf course, shopping, horse and buggy rides, pottery shops, pub and more.

Apart from kicking back and enjoying the lake, you can see the Oven's Park with its Natural Sea Caves and the thunderous roar of the waves crashing. Indian Falls, is a local watering hole, with a natural swimming pool and its own little waterfalls.

If you are concerned about sharing the house with the Eagle's Nest on the level above, please note that the Nest in no longer being rented and I live there. The Eagle's Landing studio has its private parking and entrance, a private deck with a Pergola, and privacy lattice. covered in grape vines.

Have a great vacation and enjoy Nova Scotia!!

Quiet and Beautiful

Our stay was wonderful! Part of what made it so wonderful was the owner Corine. She was both friendly and helpful with suggestions on places to visit and restaurants to eat at. I would love to come back and visit the area. If I ever do return we would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay

Amazing sleep!

Great little spot, tucked away in the woods. Kitchen was fully stocked, place nice and clean, and we both had a great sleep! Unfortunately, we had rain and colder weather so we didnt get a chance to swim in the lake, but the setting is very beautiful! The place is a little off the beaten path but worth the trip!!

Awesome

Property was exactly as expected. Corrine is a fabulous host and has thought of all the little things you might need. Mr Oso is the sweetest dog! Thoroughly enjoyed the kayaks out on the lake in the evenings. Water is very warm and was crystal clear. Close to town and things to do. Well stocked kitchen was easy to prep at meals which is nice to not have to eat out all the time.

Lovely lakefront hideaway near Lunenburg

We loved our stay at this lovely lakefront hideaway! The place was clean, comfortable, cute, and well-stocked. And the property was fantastic!!! Loved the views from all the windows and the nice deck. And it was a great pleasure to go down to the very private lakefront every day for relaxing sits, breakfast, and paddling the supplied kayaks. And we loved the brief visit and great tips from our kind host, Corrine, and her sweet big dog, Mr. Oso. We highly recommend this fantastic place if you're visiting the nearby (45 min away) Lunenburg or The Ovens or just want a nice place to relax.

Peaceful getaway

Amazing little spot on the lake! We had everything we needed and it was nice to relax by the lake after a day of sightseeing. If you stay, take the time for a swim and paddle a kayak out on the lake. And have a visit with Corinne and Oso because they are amazing!

Wonderful Little Spot!

My fiancé and I enjoyed our stay at the Eagles Nest for our anniversary, the space was exactly what we wanted for a getaway! We loved that all we had to do was bring our clothes and food, that makes travelling so much easier! Corinne was very kind and welcoming, her pup Mr. Oso is a gentle giant! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

It was a great place for two overlooking a lake . No heaters in the bathroom so this time of year it was kinda cool in there. Summer stays should be great. The hostess was very friendly.

Lovely spot - as advertised

Quaint property a short trip from Lunenburg. Quiet, peaceful - if you need a break from the hustle, this is your spot. Only stayed one night, but place was super well equipped. Took the kayak out for a paddle. Host was responsive, friendly and available (if needed), otherwise you didnt notice she was on-site. Highly recommended!

What makes this property unique

I fell in love with this property and thought it would be a great retirement home. So this is not just a vacation rental, it is my home . I take great care of it and I have developed many maintenance skills! Plumbing, landscaping, cement work, working in the forest. It's an ongoing project. A labour of love.

Minamkeak Lake, no matter what season or time of day offers spectacular views and sounds from loons, Canada geese announcing spring is here, Mr. Beaver on the other side of the island, and many other critters, Watch for the bunnies in the spring..
