We enjoyed our stay here over Labor Day. It is a unique/quirky house. The children loved the water and kayaks. Water was clear and shallow. Fishing off the dock was also popular. Three small queen rooms on first floor - second floor loft was definitely open to the rest of the house. Two separate living spaces and a screened in deck.
We wanted to find a place to stay on Pokegama as we haven't been back since we sold our cabin on Sherrys Arm. The location of this place is great and for our family it couldn't have worked any better. We rented a boat from Grand Rapids Marine and launched it at the south end of Sherrys Arm. We were able to tie the boat to the dock at the cabin. The cabin had the best beach for the 4 and 1 year old and even the adults. Boated to the Pickled Loon one night and even to Pokegama Golf Course for a round. The house is an interesting design. I have never seen that many operable windows and screen doors. The layout worked well for our group and allowed for naps and downtime for some while others played games or listened to music. The kitchen had every utensil you needed. Great dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer. We would definitely go back.
Amazing place, the perfect set up for families. The beach is clean with a gradual increase in depth—great for young swimmers! The house had ample seating for meals for our group of 10, we loved being able to eat inside or out. The screen in porch was perfect for relaxing at night. Highly recommend, will book again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fun time was had by all family members! We had enough family spaces as well as private spaces for all. The proximity between the beach & the house was great for playing with the kids.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this home. The beach was perfect for the four toddlers we had with us. They had plenty of room to play and the gradual depth of the water was perfect for the kids to swim and feel comfortable. The house itself provided plenty of room and it was really enjoyable to have a table that accommodated all of us to eat together. Really nice experience, we would stay here again.
We had a wonderful time. There was a nice breeze on deck so could enjoy without mosquitoes. The kids loved the beach, dock and swimming to the raft. It is located on a great location of the lake.
The loft was good for adult sleeping, not young children.
It was only 10 minute drive to grocery stores and Target.
Pokegama lake is beautiful and we also enjoyed going out to islands to swim.
We had a wonderful time! The cabin is very well stocked (we travel often & this is probably the best stocked we have ever stayed in). The yard is wonderful. We really enjoyed the lake, beach, kayaks, hot tub, swim platform, screened porch, and deck. It's very private & the lake is very clear. The kids & dog had a great time swimming & we rented a pontoon and pulled it right up to the dock. There is also a lot to do in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely recommend!
Owners were responsive and helpful with all details. Appreciated the wrap around porch, great views, large enough table for family games & meals, hot tub, and beach. Kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals and snacks.
The house is located in a bay on the lake that is somewhat sheltered when the winds kick up. Our family made excellent use of the canoe and kayaks (and PFDs) as well as the dock for a rented pontoon which we used to go explore the lake, visit friends and go get pizza! (highly recommend you consider renting if you are there for any length of time). Our children and grandchildren will remember fondly our time together here
This property had the perfect outdoor areas for all ages. We enjoyed the nice sandy beach and spent hours at the end of the dock watching sunsets. The hot tub was nice to have on some of our cooler days. The lake access was great for everyone - we appreciated being able to swim with no weeds out to the raft. We also enjoyed having kayaks and a canoe - there were bikes available - but we didn't want to leave the lake. The house was quite large and had plenty of spots for everyone to spread out. The property manager was VERY helpful and responsive to all of our needs. Finally, there was a large enough driveway for multiple cars and a boat trailer. The fishing on Lake Pokegama was EXCELLENT!
Our family of 5 adults and 6 kids all siblings and their kiddos had our annual cabin/lake trip here and had an amazing weekend. The view of the lake is amazing, the beach is great for little kids and the floating platform off the dock was great for the big kids. There’s a hot tub with views to the lake and the deck wraps around which is great for access and views. Was great for my brother’s dog too. Had a memorable weekend!
Malibu in Minnesota is an amazing spot. Great Lake, beach, hot tub and house. Great views. Close to town. Fully stocked kitchen. Just bring clothes & food/drinks for the stay. The kids loved staying in the loft. Kitty was great to work with. Very responsive. We will definitely be back.
We had an wonderful time spending Thanksgiving at this lovely cabin in the woods. We enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. The lake views are amazing and would love to visit in the summer!
Myself and the guys had our bachelor party at this location….it was a nice get away and a great place to crush some brews and catch some fish. The owners were very cool and even let us light off some fireworks as long as it was before 8…we had privacy even though it was attached to the owners home which was nice. Kitty was accommodating when needed and was very kind!!! The hottub was sooo relaxing and fun and great to set up a tv and watch some Sunday night football. Would recommend!!!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house is incredible and the beach is perfect for lake days. The outside set up is our favorite part! Loved using the hot tub with a view of the lake. The house was very accommodating and had anything we needed. Plenty of room! It was very clean and organized. It is not far from town but in a good location. Kitty was very fast in responding to any questions we had. She is so sweet and I'm glad we got to meet at the end of our stay! Definitely will be back!!!

I am the oldest son and I'm helping my parents rent their property.
Why they chose this property
My parents decided to move from the cities and make Grand Rapids their home. My father is an architect and designed and developed the site. The vista from any window depicts the beauty of the Northern Minnesota waters, trees and foliage.
What makes this property unique
Northern Minnesota lake homes and the surrounding areas have so much to to offer: Water sports in the summer, leaves in the fall, many biking trails, snowmobiling/skiing in the winter, and year round fishing. My mother's comment to the question of moving the family here has always been, "We wanted a slice of Heaven early!"
