The outdoor pool has been converted to salt water and will open in April and close September/October. If this is something you care to use near the time frame of opening and closing, please confirm that the pool is open. Pool is heated to 80 degrees and can be heated to 85 degrees for an extra $100. We cannot guarantee the pool will be warm enough to enjoy in April and October (up to Mother Nature).

The outdoor living room is the most relaxing location for me. Drinking a cup of coffee in the morning or watching a sunset. It's a wonderful space.

There is also a 1.5 Acre front yard for lawn games

You will have the entire 1st, 2nd floor, and outside areas. There is a two bedroom self-contained apartment in the basement that myself or caretaker stays in. Pool, hot-tub etc are private spaces for guests.

The front door is electronic and the garage works best for carrying supplies in. You will be given the current codes for both a day or two before arrival.

The traffic pattern near the home changed in 2015 and GPS isn't always correct. Apple maps is accurate. Google maps is not. Call or text 540-810-5523 if you need better directions. Very close to Costco and Martin's grocery store. 10 minutes to Massanutten. Super convenient location while still have farms on three sides. The city has grown past the home.

Beautiful house, great location

We loved everything about this house! Came into town for a JMU lacrosse alumni celebration. Loved everything about this house! It totally met and exceeded out needs. Hosted a few friends for brunch. House was fully equipped with odds and ends. Pool was perfect for the kids, hot tub was excellent and porch was perfect for evenings. The beds were also very comfortable. Thank you!

This property has so much potential but fell a little short.

The pool heater was not working but it was hot so we were fine. Temporary pipes run to replace underground pipe lines that were broken seemed to be working. The pool continued to leak about 3” a day so even though water was brought in and remained about a foot below normal it was usable. By the end of the week the floor of the pool was very slippery, maybe an indication pool maintenance was lacking. When we arrived we found any bait traps in the kitchen window sill and by that evening ants were all over our food containers. After 2 days of moving the ant bait we got the ants under control. The refrigerator was not working when we arrived on Sunday evening but by Monday morning a new on was delivered. The 2 bedrooms above the garage we always warm do to not having a separate thermostat so the master bedroom which controls those bedrooms was much cooler than normal trying to get cool air to that upstairs area. We enjoyed playing pool however a light over the pool table would have been nice. In general the whole house was lacking enough lights in some areas. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with cookware but the utensils and cookware were mostly dirty so that was washed before we used them. Carla seemed a bit overwhelmed with all the problems that hit her all at once but she was in contact with us keeping us informed about what was being done. I think she did as well as could be expected.

JMU Graduation Weekend

Fabulous home in Harrisonburg with everything you need for a family gathering. We really enjoyed everything about the home. The spacious bedrooms, the fully stocked kitchen, beautiful veranda overlooking the pool - it was a perfect setting for our family to enjoy during our daughter's graduation weekend. Great house with lots of room

Overall the house was exactly what we needed. Plenty of space, the pool and hot tub were lovely! Communication was great! We had a temporary issue with the AC the day we checked in but Carla got it working again almost immediately after we reached out. There was a slight cigarette smell coming out of the vents - not sure what that was about. Additionally we found that the patio had some ashes and buds from cigarettes, so I docked the cleaning one point.

Beautiful,Spacious Mini Mansion!

Place was BEAUTIFUL on a hill surrounded by fruit trees and rolling hills. House was IMMACULATE and they thought of EVERYTHING! From kitchen to bathrooms, to bedrooms, any accessory you needed was there! GREAT JOB!!!! and great stay! Just be advised I'm not sure if it was the season, but there were a lot of flies in pool area. Nothing biting just houseflies but a lot!

Facility was great 2 problems water pressure is low and s problem on 2nd floor Flies are really bad inside and outside house So bad on outside that sometimes you cant sit outside. Need an exterminator company

Spacious and comfortable

Really enjoyed our time there. The pool was perfect and can’t express how much fun the kids had in the pool. This place also had some of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in at a vacation home. Highly recommend visiting!

Beautiful house and pool but......

The floor was swept but needed moping. The cupboard doors were sticky (needed cleaning), the refrigerator although clean smelled so badly we had to get a box of baking soda. There were innumerable flies when we arrived in the house (one of us killed 12 in one day with more left). We were told there was an assortment of teas (for instance) and there was 1 bag. Hiking and biking options were too far away...

Nice house, could use updates/cleaning

Overall, for a house of this price I would expect better maintenance and care of the house. The biggest issues we had are that it could use a deep clean and some repairs done. Some of the kitchen cabinets were coming off their hidges, the one bathroom floor has water damage, and a few other small repairs would make it a lot more enjoyable. The fireplaces didn't work and when I asked the owner about it, she said they were turned off due to previous guest disuse. Also, the pool heater didn't work so the pool was quote chilly. The owner did tell me this a few days before and offered a small refund or the ability to change the dates. The house definitely needed a deep cleaning! Under the sinks were very dirty, the laundry room needs organizing/cleaning, the pool area had a lot of leaves and dust everywhere, and there was dust/items under the couches/tables. The beds and towels were clean. The one queen bedroom is not a room. It is just the loft portion of the 2nd floor so there isn't any privacy. The owner was very responsive and did seem to want to work with us to address the pool heater issue. The kitchen is not well stocked. There a very limited spices, pots and pans, and the dishes are all mismatched. Would I stay here again? Probably if the house is thoroughly cleaned and some updates are made.

Girls Trip

We loved this property. My girlfriends and I were very excited about this location and had a nice time relaxing with all of the amenities. Had a few minor issues that were resolved timely. We will definitely visit again. Property manager was responsive and amenable to our requests. A must do!!

Excellent Spring Break Getaway

Wonderful home for a large group. Plenty of space for 5 adults, 2 teens & 2 children to spread out. Home was clean. Good communication and detailed instructions from owner. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. We were able to stay in and cook to avoid buying meals out everyday. Just like home. We will be returning when it’s warmer. Great choice!

Lovely, Large Home

Our group of 3 families enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. The space was just perfect for both the kids and adults. The location is super convenient near shopping and Massanutten. We will definitely be back!

Lovely Family

We rented this property for the Christmas Holiday, the home was situated in a great location with a forest to the rear and near a town center. The home was simply decorated with a Christmas tree and wreath on the front door, we added a few more decorations to complete the look. The home was clean, spacious and with comfortable beds. Carla the host was stellar, responding quickly to our needs. We were unsuccessful with lighting the fireplaces both indoor and outdoor. The host offered an extra night’s stay which worked out perfectly. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the sound system throughout the house. We used chef’s hike to cater our family’s holiday meal. AdrianTaylor@chefshike.com #240-671-5991. Our five course meal was delectable and prepared to our specifications. There was a beautiful centerpiece created for the dining room tabIe by the chef. I would highly recommend this home, we had over 5,000 square feet of space to enjoy surrounded by Massanutten mountains with loads of nearby activities for the family to enjoy. We will definitely make plans to return!

Great property for a family reunion

We just finished staying at this property for Thanksgiving and thought it was great. There's plenty of sleeping space for everyone and space the lounge around. We really liked the fact that it backed up against a forest. We saw plenty of wildlife including deer and cardinals. We would definitely stay here again!

Why they chose this property

Gourmet Kitchen and two living rooms so that large families/groups can spread out. Salt Water Pool and bar, Hot-tub, Outdoor living room and the location is just so darn convenient. I didn't realize when I started the journey of listing this home on other sites just how much of a "4 seasons" area this is and how much there is to do.
