Love it
We have stayed several times at Melfort Village and always love it. Friendly staff, comfortable cottages-especially enjoy the log fires-and our dog is welcome although unfortunately the on site restaurant is no longer dog friendly.

Lovely stay at Haynarn Cottage
Had a lovely 2 night stay at this cosy cottage. Lovely location and very comfortable and cosy. Kitchen was well equipped.
Hall and shower area of bathroom looked a little tired, and in need of some redecor and TLC, but overall a comfortable stay in a beautiful location.

Melfort Moments
In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days.
The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week).
Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern.
Onsite the Shower of Herring restaurant did not disappoint and we had two excellent meals.
The resort is well maintained and this is also reflected in the quality of the furnishings and fittings.
Finally thanks to all the Management and staff for their help and advice during our stay.
One of the best resorts we have stayed in!

Relaxing break in Argyll
Lovely short break in a beautiful part of the country. On arrival the pooch had his very own personal pamper box! Our youngest was with us and he enjoyed the little swimming pool and games room. The cottage was cosy and well appointed, we would definitely return.

Meltfort village holiday resort
Haybarn cottage is one of the smaller units in the site. It was very clean and in general the items in it were of very high standard(TV, fridge etc.) The site itself is well kept and very scenic. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Only downside for us was that the nearest shop was 2 miles away . Nearest major shops and fuel are in Oban,19 miles away along narrow and bending roads. Others may find this attractive but not to our taste

Haybarn Cottage April 2018
Excellent stay as always. First time in Haybarn Cottage and Garden Cottage, although we know Coachman's Cottage as we own the next week. All are of a consistently high standard and were well looked-after considering their age.

Beautiful rural location
A beautiful but rural location. A lovely well appointed cottage, comfortable living area and bedrooms close to the reception area. Reasonable WiFi available. Nice clean and warm pool, lovely shop and restaurant on site, very enthusiastic staff. Thumbs up was given to the kids play area. Be aware in March many surrounding attractions are not open for the season. Car and quite a lot of driving required for this resort.

Great week
Another excellent week at Melfort Village enhanced by Olwen and her resort staff in their professionalism and friendliness.
Welcome meeting was very informative and helpful.
The service from Kat and staff in the Shower of Herring and the food quality and choice were excellent as was the gin and whisky tasting evening.
Monday nights music night was also very entertaining and enjoyable.
Will definitely be back!

Melfort Village
Really enjoyed our stay. Nice and peaceful area, very relaxing. Cottage lovely and the log fire was especially nice and cosy for winter . Took us back to a time when we didn't have central heating at home. Enough facilities to keep youngsters entertained. Off
the beaten track for us townies used to having everything on our doorstep but enjoyed nonetheless for re-energising.

Great Staff and Location
We had an excellent time, not really wanting to leave. Every member of the staff was extremely helpful but also unobtrusive. Our cottage was probably the smallest two bedroom unit and with visitors for a couple of days we struggled a little with having only one bathroom. However, this did not spoil anything because there was so much to do in the area and the weather was excellent on the whole. The scenery is terrific.
We used the swimming pool and the Shoal of Herring - fish and chips and home made tartar sauce the best consistent meal at a good price. The local walking guide was comprehensive and accurate (with careful reading) and the very enthusiastic talk by Olwen certainly inspired us - backed-up with her useful comprehensive notes. I even caught six brown trout from Melfort village's
rowing boat on Loch nan Druimnean - a superb facility to have available.

Perfect in every way!
The title says it all, an idyllic place for a peaceful, relaxing break. The cottage is equipped with everything you need for a self catering break, even down to plastic cups for a picnic!
The underfloor heating in the bathroom is great, especially after a bath in the huge bath!
The pool is great, the restaurant was wonderful, the location is a little off the beaten track but we loved that.

Staff need training .
On the second day my wife informed me the light at her side of the bed was not working the light is fixed to the wall with a pull cord so you do not know if on or off I could not get the shade of so put my hand in to get the bulb out but surprise no bulb just an electric shock on my fingers, I reported this but no mention of accident book at all ,to me this is very poor standard or is there a reason for this I wonder ? .

Another good visit
Melfort Village is a beautiful place and if we lived nearer we would probably visit more. Lst time we were in the weighbridge hut wh
Melfort Village is an excellent site and we were very happy to go back there. Haybarn cottage was very well equipped and our ony problem was the underfloor heating in the bathroom which always seemed to be on and made the upstairs very warm but was handy for drying clothes overnight. Couple of small problems were dealt with quickly and efficiently and the staff were excellent. Lovely pool which we made use of every day. The main drawback was no washer/dryer in the unit and using the one was very frustrating with a long wash cycle and the dryer being full of fluff although there was a notice to users to clean the filter after use. Great area for walking. We would definitely lke to go back.
