We only stayed for a few days, but the property was nice and had gorgeous views of the mountains. It’s close enough to things but far enough away that it’s peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed our time there!
We thought the property was charming, and the somewhat remote location was perfect for us. Our family had a nice day. The property was in our price range, and we felt that we got a lot for it.
Rented this property with another family of 4 and had plenty of room. The house has been updated but still holds the charm of an old mountain home with the farm table, rolling bedroom-barn door & hardwood floors. Lisa was great communicating with me about how to get the hot tub to heat.
The outside is a little disheveled, but the view is unbeatable and the inside was very nice and clean. Host was very responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The house was beautiful and was accurately depicted by description and photos. The host was very responsive and helpful. Will definitely plan to stay again.
I hate to leave a negative review, but we spent what I consider to be a good amount on this rental, and am disappointed. The pictures reflect a modern, remodeled property. We arrived and found that the property has been remodeled; however it is quite dirty. The toilet hadn't been flushed when we got there, there were ladybugs in every room on the windows and the bed, and we weren't comfortable sleeping in the home. The air vents, light switches, bathroom, ceiling fans indicate a dirtier home that doesn't reflect the modern decor in the pictures. As for the homeowner, the rental was very smooth. No issues there.
The pictures are very deceiving. The house needs a deep clean & lawn-care services are necessary. Check-In was at 3 p.m., but we did not enter the residence until 5:30 p.m. when the maid was done. There was bad communication with the owner. All the bottoms of the doors are damaged in some way. The tv in the king size bed room was damaged when we turned it on. A bear came up several times trying to get into the trash where they haven’t taken it out. There was rat feces in the drawers next to the sink. When mentioned to the home owner, she brushed it off saying that mouse traps would have to be put in place (“Looks like I need to set some mouse traps.”). Only received a $50 refund for our stay. We will not be back & we hope this helps future tourists who are wanting to stay here.
We had a fantastic stay. The house is just as cute as advertised! The mountain views from the porch and living room windows are beautiful. It's a ~15 minute drive into Asheville, so it was very convenient. We contacted Lisa with a couple of questions and she was very responsive. We will definitely try to stay here again!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Lasa's home. Her home was clean and ready for us. Everything worked well. We would like to thank Lisa for her hospitality, and we will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.
The house was as advertised and perfect for our one night stay. My only issue was that for some reason we did not receive the code to the front door, but when I called the owner she picked up immediately and gave me the instructions. Other review comments have mentioned the neighbor and while I will corroborate the fact that the house is a mess, we did not see or hear from them so it was not a factor. Our boys loved the hot tub and we loved the quiet seclusion.
Had a great stay at Lisa's property. The house was clean and well decorated. Convenient to Asheville and surrounding areas. Advice for those using Uber/Lyft, get your ride a little early. Seems most cars stay downtown and it took us a bit longer to get a ride to downtown, the ride back was no problem at all. We did not get a chance to use the hot tub, but did have a little fire in the fire pit which was nice. Lisa was great to work with and even let us know that we had left something behind and offered to mail it to us.
Very nice little house! Beautiful decor. Nice thoughtful touches. A little confusion getting check-in, but GPS worked well. Only negative is the neighbor; quite a mess.

The house is super cute and has some very pretty mountain views!
The house is very nice and cute. Plenty of rooms and beds if you have a large number of people. The hot tub is great and there are beautiful mountain views. The only critique I have is that the house could have used a deep cleaning. It is very dusty and there were things in the fridge left behind by previous renters. But still enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated the owner accommodating an early check in request.

Beautiful views
House was beautiful with great views of the mountains. Everything you need inside the home. The drive going up is rather steep so be careful. Also we couldn’t find outside lights in the morning which made it difficult leaving in the dark . All in all a wonderful spot if traveling in the area

I have lived in Asheville for about 20 years. I have three children ages 14, 11 & 9 that keep me busy. I am a "retired" triathlete who still enjoy getting out for hikes, runs and bike rides. I am happy to make suggestions to guests who are interested.
Why they chose this property
I purchased this property in 2016 due to the stunning views and closeness to our personal home. I thought it would make a great vacation getaway for those seeking a mountain getaway that is close enough to town to enjoy all that vibrant Asheville has to offer. I completed a full renovation of the property and am now happy to share it with guests. We have been renting it since June 2016 and have hosted more than 150 stays through VRBO/Homeaway and other travel sites
