Set in the Lake District National Park in an elevated position with stunning views over the Lyth Valley and open countryside to the hills beyond. Addyfield Properties make comfortable holiday home from which to walk direct from the door or for touring in the Lakes.
Just two miles from Lake Windermere at Fell Foot and only 5 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere with its wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants. Grange-over-Sands 7 miles. The location is perfect for making the most of one of England’s most beautiful National Parks. Excellent walking, climbing and a wide variety of watersports can all be enjoyed nearby.
Don’t miss Lake Windermere, perhaps one of the most evocative of the Lakeland waters - craggy fells and mountains of matchless beauty are carved by becks tumbling down to the lake below. Take a trip to the house of Beatrix Potter, where her imagination was stirred to create Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck, or many of Wordworth’s inspirational locations. Local fuel stations and shop within a 10 minute drive, pub with real ale ½ mile.

Addyfarm Review

We greatly enjoyed our anniversary stay at Addyfarm house. The house was comfortable, clean, spacious, with amazing views of the countryside outside our front door. Hosts were gracious and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Wonderful hosts who live close by and can help out with any local information, queries or issues with the properties (not there there were any difficulties during our stay). Beautiful location which can't be beaten on its views. Large lounge with log fire which really makes the stay. Spotlessly clean on arrival and such great efforts gone to by hosts to make the rental as safe as possible in relation to Covid / transmission including leaving a week between guests. Any guest staying should willingly engage with the small extra measures requested of guests on departure which help keep the hosts and all their guests, safe. There isn’t central heating, but there are storage heaters, a gorgeous fire and plenty of other heaters. However, all of us were a bit cold during the night as the duvets were a bit thin. I’m sure they would be fine in the summer but perhaps need upgrading for this time of year.

Lakeland Escape

A wonderful house with amazing views. We all enjoyed the fantastic walks and relaxing evenings by the fabulous log fire. Dinner at the nearby pub was also not to be missed- book early! We would highly recommend this lovely home for a memorable family holiday.

The farmhouse has a real rural location and beautiful views. It is not modern and the beds are not that good but the location and the size of the house are real nice. The bedrooms are nice en so is the bathroom. Problem were the wasps who are everywhere. There is a lot you can do; horse racing course, historic houses, nice little towns, swimming in Lake Windermere, country fair and lots more.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. If you want to get away from it all and have peace and quiet then this is the place to be. The photos do not do justice to the view from the front of the cottage across the valley with mountains in the background. Having said that, once away from the cottage it is only a short drive to Lake Windermere and all the amenities there. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. Plenty of room in the cottage for 8 adults and the family room also has an extra bed if needed and a cot.
