Our family really enjoyed staying here.

Our family really enjoyed staying here.We arrived late to the scent of honeysuckle and roses and we were surrounded by wildlife and beautiful dark skies. The cottages are charming historic farm workers cottages. They’re lovely and have everything needed. A nice comfortable sitting room for socialising. The owners are very friendly. Be prepared to offer a cup of tea and have a nice chat. There’s a lovely roadside cafe a few miles south. Northumberland itself is a lovely place. Yes they’re a little rustic and there are a few little faults like 1 radiator that needs to stay on.So if you are expecting pristine perfection then spend an absolute fortune on a city hotel. If you’re happy with rural and lovely then you should have a nice time

Pleasant stay

Lovely cosy cottage, very warm and great to have coal fire burning when we arrived - thank you! Only feedback is could have done with a few more plates and bowls and perhaps a couple of firelighters.

Great location with fantastic views! The cottage was great, very clean and very comfy.

Great location with fantastic views! The cottage was great, very clean and very comfy. The fire is great for winter nights. It’s a little bit of a trek to any civilisation or shops, which was absolutely fine for us. The wildlife cameras linked to the tv and a great addition, and kept the kids entertained and engaged. Would you stay again? Absolutely, yes. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We had a lovely week in Birch cottage.

We had a lovely week in Birch cottage. It is an excellent place to get away from it all. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, we were lucky to be there when all the heather was in flower turning the hills purple. Our toddler loved staring at the birds in the garden (so many birds!) and saying hello to the sheep in the field. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Lovely cottage in an lovely location. John and Jill were fantastic hosts. It is quite a remote location but all the better for it with stunning scenery, quiet and plenty of wildlife (especially on the wildlife cameras). Would definitely recommend. Lovely warm cosy cottage with all mod cons.

Lovely warm cosy cottage with all mod cons. Where myself, daughter and son in law, granddaughter plus two dogs were very comfortable for our weeks stay. The owners made us very welcome on arrival, they are a really lovely couple. Would not recommend the area for anyone with mobility problems. Sept. 2019

Lovely old cottage in quiet secluded country surroundings.

Lovely old cottage in quiet secluded country surroundings. The owners, John and Jill are really friendly helpful people. If you want peace and quiet then this is for you. The only down side is that you are miles from any shops , pubs or towns and you need to drive a fair distance to seek out any of these facilities. Make sure you take adequate provisions with you. We loved it.

Took or family on a much needed getaway, the plan being to relax away from the hurly burly in some beautiful scenery, potter around the local sights and mostly have some much needed down time. John & Jill were so lovely, making us feel very welcome, helping where needed. We visited Hadrian's Wall, Hexham Abbey, Lindisfarne, Cragside and a fair bit of Jedburgh.

Birch cottage is a fantastic location for all that North Northumberland has to offer.

Birch cottage is a fantastic location for all that North Northumberland has to offer. The host's were excellent and very friendly. The cottage has everything you'll need a comfortable stay. The wildlife is outstanding and the CCTV around the farm is brilliant. One downside was the late check-in and early checkout. meant a two night stay was very short and felt we had to rush out on the morning we left. We would definitely stay longer if we had the chance. A really pleasant stay in a beautiful location. Beware the morning and evening Midges.

A gorgeous cottage set in a stunning location, very rural and quite remote, hence lower score for local amenities, but that was fine by us! John and Jill are fabulous hosts and we would definitely recommend this cottage to friends!!!!!

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Jill and John are the perfect hosts. Local amenities in Jedburgh or Otterburn. 40 minutes to Kielder Forest and Water park. Scotland is a few minutes drive away. Cottage is well equipped and so cosy and warm. Nice enclosed garden for the dogs to run around in and beautiful walks close by. We had no mobile phone reception, but that didn't bother us! Really good Wi-Fi available at the cottage. My son loved the nature camera, especially watching the barn owls. Would definitely visit again.
